Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Reviews

I want to get OCA for Java, so I am using it for practice.

I like that the program is flexible. I can use it to write Java scripts. I also like the website because it constantly updates me on things, like artificial intelligence, and the latest technology. I read the articles, on the latest technology that programmers can use.

There's one app I have to install on my device, the Articulate Player app. It's only available on Apple and Android, but it's not available for Windows. I can't run the program on my desktop, to use it to learn Java. If I want to learn Java, I have to install the program, but I would like it if was available for desktops. I use my PC to learn most of the time.

The solution is very stable. If you are using it to build an application, it's stable.

Technical support is helpful. I don't really need them. It's simple to learn how to use it. 

It's very easy. I just accept to complete the install. Since it's an application, you just press install. The deployment didn't take long.

I implemented the solution myself.

I would give the solution a rating of 8 out of 10.

I would like it if maybe they could create a curriculum for Java, if they can integrate a curriculum for learning Java specifically, for the certification. The Oracle certification for Java. I'm using it to teach kids how to code.

Our primary use case of this solution is to do implementations on the cloud like Oracle Application, PeopleSoft, and E-Business Suite.

The deployment is the most valuable feature.

The stability of the solution is okay.

The users we have are from 100's to 1000's. It depends on the deployment. The implementation strategy depends on a case by case basis.

The setup was not very simple but not complex either.

I am not involved with the pricing model of the solution.

This product is used for building the DRP, for databases. We use it when there is a corruption on our main site.

It's very easy to use it. It's very hard to configure, but it's very easy to use.

There is a little bit of a problem that we are concerned about, where there is a gap happening between the primary and the DRP  - the product skips. We only found it when we move to the secondary site, the backup site.

I would also like them to make it easier. The creation process is very long. There is a very long cookbook that we needed to build. It requires the DBA to build it well, and when you don't build it well it causes a lot of problems. We would like this process to be more automatic.

The stability is very good.

It's easy to scale. The scalability is good.

Oracle does not provide very good support. It has been very bad support. I'm not talking about this product, I have not used technical support for this product. I'm talking about Oracle.

It takes them a long time to resolve problems, maybe months. Just in the last year, I opened four issues with Oracle that took them about four months to resolve. The problem is not that they have no knowledge, the problem is that we are moving from person to person, and it takes a long time until the problem gets to the right person.

When selecting a vendor, what's important for me is very good support.

When compared with other products, this product is very good because it's easy to move from primary to secondary sites. With other products, you need to build everything from the base. With Oracle Data Cloud, you can move from the primary to the secondary and return back to the primary by a very simple command, and you never lose data. This is very important.

My primary use case is administering a critical production database on an Oracle Cloud Platform. 

It has improved my company by cutting my time to market. 

The most important features are the turnkey solutions offered by Oracle. These ease the administration of Oracle Databases.

More technical papers could be published to help out professionals.

I have migrated more than 10 databases to Oracle Cloud Platform and all of them perform optimally. 

Customer service could be improved.

Before, we were managing databases on-premise. Now, we manage them on the cloud.

We used a desktop application previous to this solution.

The most valuable feature of Oracle Cloud is its autonomous database.

There are some missing services in Oracle Cloud. Managed services for Postgres are not available in Oracle Cloud. Even if you have to move to Oracle, you don't have a place to deploy applications.

We have been using Oracle Cloud for almost three months.

Oracle Cloud is a very, very stable solution.

Oracle Cloud is a scalable solution.

AWS and Azure have a wide range of services compared to Oracle Cloud is a very, very stable solution.

Oracle Cloud's initial setup was pretty straightforward.

An in-house senior technical team implemented the solution for our organization. Initially, it took around four weeks to deploy the solution, but later it was easy.

I rate Oracle Cloud three to four out of ten on a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.

Many of our customers are choosing Microsoft Azure since it is more popular than Oracle Cloud in the manufacturing vertical that we are in.

Overall, I rate Oracle Cloud a seven out of ten.

I use the solution for integration, application development, content storage, and analytics. We also use it in data warehouses and data lakes.

The product is easy to use and deploy. It provides us with security.

The product roadmap strategy for some of the products is not clear. The solution’s API management is not as great as Azure.

I have been using the solution for seven years.

We have not faced any stability issues with the solution.

It is really easy to scale the product. We can add additional CPUs with ease. More than 4000 people in our organization use the product.

The support is fairly good. Our issues get resolved fairly within the appropriate time.

The initial setup is fairly easy.

Our employees and some contractors deployed the product in our organization. The deployment process depends on what service we want to deploy. The deployment takes a couple of minutes.

We see an ROI because of the solution's reusability.

The product is the backbone of integrating multi-cloud strategies. For the same task, the number of staff needed for Oracle is a little bit less than that for Azure. People planning to use the product must plan their process and ensure they have a good platform architect. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

I primarily use OCI for databases and platform-as-a-service.

OCI's best features are its price, databases, and Linux compatibility.

OCI's user interface is awful and needs to be modernized.

I've been using OCI for six years and version two for six months.

I haven't had a single issue with OCI's stability.

OCI's support is very good.

I would rate the setup process eight out of ten. Deployment took around half an hour.

OCI's pricing is one of its best features. However, customers may prefer a lower price, so from their perspective, I rate its price five out of ten.

I'd definitely recommend OCI to other users and would rate it eight out of ten.
