I have been using Nutanix Acropolis AOS for perhaps four years.
The stability is good. This is the number-one product in that regard.
Scalability-wise, it is okay.

We do see ROI but also experience problems with some deployments.
The local Nutanix representative in our region is not very good, so we are stopping our work with Nutanix products for the moment. We have worked on nice projects together in the past but for now, we are stopping our work with them.

The most valuable features are easy cloud administration and management. Acropolis also has a very good response time with our database applications.
An area for improvement would be the cyber security features.

You need to send commands through the command-line interface(CLI). This could be improved. The commands are done better in VMware.
Nutanix has a complex infrastructure, we have customers that consider VMware instead. Additionally, the performance could be better.

The scalability is very easy. You plug in another node and that's it.
The support provided for Nutanix Acropolis AOS is very good. They know the products well, if you have any error on a cluster or any problem with workloads on Nutanix, the engineer's support is great.
The initial setup was very simple. You only need to deploy the clusters and Nutanix configures all the clusters. In one day we were in production. When comparing the process to the VMware solution, it is less complex.
The solution could be a little less expensive.
If you want to run Nutanix on Windows, you have to pay for a license and if you want to have an Oracle Database, you have to pay a license for Oracle.
With the simplicity of the deployment and the one-click operations over the cluster, Nutanix Acropolis AOS is a good solution. You have to have cloud experience.

We are the service partners. Generally, we are taking care of the Nutanix systems for the customer.
One customer, for example, uses it widely in a hospital environment.
The support is quite good.
We have found the solution to be stable. It offers good performance.
The scalability is great.
The product offers a general easy configuration of disaster recovery. That's the major thing. Disaster recovery and business continuity are very good.
Frankly speaking, there are some issues. For example in the newer version could be better. If there could be good documentation in some instances. While their overall Nutanix Bible is good, they are lacking good descriptions for particular scenarios that might be helpful to many users.
In the next release, I would like to have a multi-tenant environment. That way, you could set up a special VM for a special group of people and the other group will not be able to see certain things. It would make the solution better.
I've used the solution for about three years at this point. We've used it for a while.
The hypervisor is very stable. Overall, the performance is good. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable and it doesn't have bugs or glitches.
The product is absolutely scalable. A company can expand it if it needs to. It's not a problem.

The technical support on offer is the best part of the product. They are excellent. We are extremely satisfied with their level of service.
I've found the product to be absolutely easy to install.
However, for this particular system, it's hard. It takes longer to do the hardware. Physically it may take about three hours.
You do not need a lot of people for the deployment or maintenance. It's a one-man show. The person also does not need to be overly technical or specialized in Nutanix to be able to handle the implementation or maintenance.
ROI is hard to calculate, as we are in Eastern Europe, where the pricing may be different or higher than in other places, however, we do expect an ROI with this product within three years or so.
I'm a technical person. I don't directly deal with licensing costs or arrangements, and therefore cannot speak to pricing.
We did look at other solutions before ultimately deciding on Nutanix. We choose Nutanix due to the fact that it's easier to operate and maintain.

I'd recommend the solution to others as its stability is so reliable. Companies should strive towards finding a good management system. It's far worse without this.

One of the main features of the solution is that it works on many hypervisors. It is a big advantage. Additionally, the solution is compatible with VMware and Hyper-V, and the management interface, which is called Prism, is very intuitive and user-friendly.
The solution upgrades very easily with the one-click upgrade feature. There are no hassles, it can upgrade the firmware and all the software. The management is very easy.
One disadvantage of Nutanix Acropolis AOS is it doesn't support external storage. Connecting external SAN storage to Nutanix, it's not supported.

My primary use case for this solution
We have had good feedback from our customers about this solution.
Areas for improvement would be the memory setting and the CPU setting reserve features, which are not available on Acropolis. I also feel that the DR solution, the reporting, and the component that is combined with the Nutanix OSP need to be improved.
