The solution is used regarding all the technical bases of manufacturing, finance, and maintenance.
Director TIC's - CMC chairman at CSS
A highly scalable and stable solution with ROI and a good technical support team
Pros and Cons
- "Traceability is the most valuable feature of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne...The stability of the solution is excellent."
- "The initial setup was complex...One should get the end-user manual because, in some parts, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is not user-friendly."
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
We work for a group of companies in their supply chain process and all aspects of their data. The meta is extracted from the EMS system online to ensure everything is under the same system. We put all the information into the system by transferring it from the mining warehouse to the slab facility in Bogata. Then in Bogata, we make all the transformation parts regarding the manufacturing. After we get the rough result, we change that to the appropriate value. In the main system, we have Azure, cost, and evaluation. We manage that and send it to New York and deliver it to sell it to our clients.
What is most valuable?
Traceability is the most valuable feature of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What needs improvement?
We are currently working on the new version of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as we are currently involved in four different industries. Our focus is on optimization, and with this new version, we hope that using the solution, we succeed at integrating AI to help with tracking and addressing. We are also working with a group of companies that we have invested in and have new deals with, and we want to be able to provide information through dashboards using AI and BI, using the solution. Additionally, we are exploring the use of blockchain technology to ensure that not only our investments but also our clients have access to market information and understand how everything is working.

How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was complex.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a return on investment in our company.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is very high. Even though the license is perpetual yet you have to get the maintenance. Since we pay using Pesos, it's very expensive.
What other advice do I have?
One should get the end-user manual because, in some parts, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is not user-friendly.
I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Project Manager at SQORUS
A stable product with good technical support that can be deployed easily
Pros and Cons
- "The product has been stable so far."
- "The only issue with the solution that it yet to consider improvements in its price."
What is most valuable?
Feature-wise, it is a good product. I have implemented the solution in a big company. It is one of my projects where I implemented JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What needs improvement?
In terms of weaknesses, I can say that the product has no problems since it can be easily deployed.
Instead of considering adding additional things to the overall app, it is good to add a financial path and general ledger since that is what is mostly used here.
The only issue with the solution that it yet to consider improvements in its price.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. I have twenty years of experience with the solution. I am involved in a lot of big projects, including the small ones. I am a technical consultant. My company has a partnership with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product has been stable so far.
How are customer service and support?
I am satisfied with the technical support by JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
In terms of pricing, we have a lot of problems because companies here don't have enough resources to acquire the product. So we need to evaluate the price according to our demographic.
The license cost is around 1,00,000 euros.
We do have to pay additionally for maintenance.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.
Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer. Partner

Modern and well-sustained with a good user interface
Pros and Cons
- "The product can scale."
- "When it's boiled down to the ERP system, I would recommend Oracle EOne compared to SAP since you can do lots of customization, and you have lots of other functionalities enabled in the system."
- "From the operation perspective, it could offer more functionality for the APIs."
- "From the operation perspective, it could offer more functionality for the APIs."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily use the solution for operations.
What is most valuable?
It's well-sustained. We can use it in a rather sizable company, and it will still meet our needs. We do not need to do a lot of customization.
It's a stable solution.
The product can scale.
It is an easy product to set up.
The solution still has about seven to eight years of life left, at least in the premier support. From the user interface perspective, it's good.
What needs improvement?
I would like more features to come to the cloud. We'd like to have the option to mix the old technology with EnterpriseOne. That means you can take some help from your existing solution, like World, take user infrastructure, and build EOne on top of that. For example, right now, we are not using it as a financial ledger. However, we are likely going to. It would be ideal if we could move the World ledger right into EOne.
From the operation perspective, it could offer more functionality for the APIs.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for five to six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable and reliable. We haven't had issues with crashing or freezing. There are no bugs or glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable. That said, it boils down to the regional requirements since we are using it globally. So when you go to the different regions, you need to do your customizations there.
We have about 5,000 users on the solution, and we will likely increase the user base over time.
How are customer service and support?
The solution's technical support is good. It's not excellent, however, it is fair.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We also use JD Enterprise World. However, it is reaching its end-of-life.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is simple and straightforward. It's not overly complex.
I'd rate the process a four or four and a half out of five in terms of ease of setup.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I cannot speak to the exact costs associated with the product.
We bought an Enterprise license, however, when it comes to the EOne, you need to go buy separate licenses as you go.
The pricing is okay. If you compare it with SAP or any other modern application, it's still lower than SAP, and it provides the same set of functionality.
What other advice do I have?
If anyone is looking to use the latest version of this product and if you are comparing it with SAP, and you are fine to spend millions of dollars on the best possible solution, you can go with SAP. However, eventually, EnterpriseOne is going to provide you with the same functionality as SAP at a lower cost as it's ultimately a cheaper solution.
When it's boiled down to the ERP system, I would recommend Oracle EOne compared to SAP since you can do lots of customization, and you have lots of other functionalities enabled in the system. You can create an ecosystem around EOne. SAP in contrast, is very standard. You can't make lots of changes based on your enterprise requirements. Therefore, implementing EOne, compared to any other solution at present in the market, is a good choice.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. It's a modern solution.

Beneficial consolidated platform, scalable, but highly complex setup
Pros and Cons
- "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne's most valuable feature is its one consolidated platform that runs all the different aspects of companies."
- "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne's most valuable feature is its one consolidated platform that runs all the different aspects of companies."
- "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is more of a legacy solution because most of the competitors are or have moved to the cloud. It would be beneficial if there was a cloud version available. Additionally, the interface could improve."
- "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is more of a legacy solution because most of the competitors are or have moved to the cloud."
What is our primary use case?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is generally used to run most business operations and at a very high level. Those business operations would include a financial module, distribution, and HR. There are many other modules available to fit enterprises' needs.
What is most valuable?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne's most valuable feature is its one consolidated platform that runs all the different aspects of companies.
What needs improvement?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is more of a legacy solution because most of the competitors are or have moved to the cloud. It would be beneficial if there was a cloud version available. Additionally, the interface could improve.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for approximately 20 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is very good. You can have a lot of users using the solution, such as 20,000, and run multiple companies and languages.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is highly complex.
What about the implementation team?
We use remote services for the support of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The maintenance of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is expensive and overall the solution is expensive. Most enterprise operation solution is expensive.
The cost of the solution depends on the size of the company, the number of users, and many other factors.
What other advice do I have?
I would advise others t choose a cloud base solution.
I rate JD Edwards EnterpriseOne a six out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

JD Edwards functional consultant manufacture at Ordina
Great modeling capabilities with lots of online documentation and an easy setup
Pros and Cons
- "The solution can scale."
- "The support information that you can find on the Oracle sites, the support sites, is huge and if I have a problem, then in 80% of the cases, I can find a solution somewhere on the support side of Oracle before I have to lock a service request with the Oracle support unit."
- "The reporting has to be flexible or it will turn the end-user off."
- "The reporting has to be flexible or it will turn the end-user off."
What is our primary use case?
I've been working as a JD Edwards consultant for four companies we did projects for all four in the food markets. With all four of them, two times it was an implementation project, and two times it was management and book fixing and that kind of thing.
For me, it always was production and logistics.
What is most valuable?
The strongest functionality of JD Edwards is the ability to model, in the production that it is, model the production process. If I were to model the bill of materials and production routing, then that's one of the strongest parts of JD Edwards.
The initial setup is not difficult.
The solution can scale.
The stability is good.
There's a large amount of online documentation that makes troubleshooting easy.
What needs improvement?
It's all in the way that end-users are able to make reports. The more that's flexible, the better it is. In JD Edwards, it's the reports that you get standard. Then the user has to deal with that and if he's not satisfied with it, well, then that's tough luck, so to say. The reporting has to be flexible or it will turn the end-user off.
I'm not sure if there are any missing features. The last thing we worked with was Orchestrator and that was something that could be of great value. Orchestrator will prove to be the solution for many problems. At the moment, there isn't something that I would say that we're all waiting for it. On the other hand, they should make more noise on the Orchestrator, as there are not many people who know what it is and what it can do, and what it can mean for new implementations, or old ones.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for the past five or six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is quite stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product can scale. If you are too big or too small for the solution, if you are something like Coca-Cola worldwide, you would not use JD Edwards solely for all activities. They're too big. If you are a company of, let's say 10 employees, then you're too small. However, otherwise, if you choose right, it's very easy to set it up and it's scalable. If you are going from, let's say 200 to 500 employees, no problem. If you have two sites and you're growing to five production sites, also no problem.
How are customer service and support?
The solution is part of the Oracle family and I always used the information that I could find in Oracle Metalink. For JD Edwards it's also there this. The support information that you can find on the Oracle sites, the support sites, it's huge. If I have a problem, then in 80% of the cases, I can find a solution somewhere on the support side of Oracle before I have to lock a service request with the Oracle support unit. There's a lot of information that you can find on your own. Therefore, the support is quite good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
At this moment, I'm on my second project for Oracle E-Business Suite and then the project module.
How was the initial setup?
The implementation process is pretty simple. I can relate it to the E-Business Suite, as I've also a long-term experience in E-Business Suite. JD Edwards is more simple than the E-Business Suite to set up and make work. On the other hand, if you have a very large operation and your operation is multi-language and multicurrency, then the E-Business Suite is better as it has more opportunities to set it up for multicurrency and multi-language. That said, in daily practice, JD Edwards is reasonably easy to set it up.
In terms of maintenance, for the application management team, for a normal instance of JD Edwards, then you could expect something like, let's say 500 users. Then there would be one or two application managers that are managing an application of that size - and perhaps one database manager.
What was our ROI?
The ROI is not my business. I can't speak to if we have seen any.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I barely know what the license costs are. They are in the range of $1,000 per end-user per year or something like that. A lot of the bigger ERP solutions, like E-Business Suite or SAP, are all the same or similar in terms of pricing.
What other advice do I have?
We are a system integrator.
I'd advise new users if you are using JD Edwards or if you are using Oracle E-Business Suite, just go on with it and stay using it for a long time. It will be supported until, the last I heard, 2030, by Oracle and perhaps even longer. However, if you are thinking about implementing an ERP solution that's new, from the scratch, I would consider one of the cloud solutions. Then you could look to an Oracle Cloud product or you can look to Salesforce - whatever suits your business. I would go for the cloud products and not for the, well, let's say old school, on-premise products.
I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

A stable solution that can be used for manufacturing, finance, and procurement
Pros and Cons
- "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is perfect for our reporting for the management, workflow, and procurement workflow."
- "The way of creating daily reports could be made a little bit easier."
What is our primary use case?
We use JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for manufacturing, finance, and procurement.
What is most valuable?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is perfect for our reporting for the management, workflow, and procurement workflow.
What needs improvement?
The way of creating daily reports could be made a little bit easier.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for 19 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a scalable solution. More than 100 users are using the solution in our organization.
How was the initial setup?
Compared to other ERPs, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne's initial setup is more easy and straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
The solution's setup takes one or two weeks.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a return on investment with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution's pricing depends on the deal and the number of users.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, we evaluated SAP.
What other advice do I have?
I am using the latest version of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The solution can be deployed both on-premises and on-cloud, but we currently update it from on-premise to cloud.
I would recommend JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to other users. Users should have the right persons and the right team. The solution will not be good for users without a good team, proper key users, and proper process documentation.
Overall, I rate JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ten out of ten.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
Senior Manager Group Ict at Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Co. B. S. C. (c)
A valuable interface with good customization, but it could include a built-in data warehouse
Pros and Cons
- "We find the ease of use, customization, and user interface valuable."
- "The licensing is expensive compared to other solutions on the market."
What is our primary use case?
Our primary use case for the solution is for finance, such as payroll, sales and production but not full-fledged manufacturing because we have an in-house system developed for that. We deploy the solution on-premises.
What is most valuable?
We find the ease of use, customization, and user interface valuable.
What needs improvement?
The solution can be improved by including a built-in data warehouse and BI functionalities. So the end user could report by themselves, depending on the IT. Currently, the solution has many good features, but the issue is that people need to be very well-trained and have the right resources to do any work. For example, if you want to make a new system out of it for your business, you need to have a specialist and an architect available. In addition, some specialized resources are required for each module, which is sometimes difficult.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using the solution for approximately nine years and are currently using the latest version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable. I rate it a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable and easy to integrate with others. It can extend to many things, including interfacing with other applications and API-based interfacing through databases. Approximately 150 people, from operators to the CEO, are currently utilizing the solution across different countries, including Bahrain, Singapore, U.S. and Australia. I rate the scalability an eight out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
When we have issues, we usually contact our in-house team first, and if we need further support, we reach out to Oracle support, but we have not directly used support from JD Edwards Enterprise One. I rate Oracle support a five out of ten because the technical, licensing, and sales teams do not communicate with each other and provide varying information depending on the agents we speak to.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used an internal system on the IBM platform before moving to JD Edwards Enterprise One 25 years ago. JD Edward Enterprise One has a lot of functionalities, but they are costly. So we have developed in-house systems to take care of them. For example, we have our time and attendance systems outside JD Edward Enterprise One. We also have our procurement, which liaises with our suppliers and vendors outside JD Edward Enterprise One because we cannot afford to manage everything from JD Edward Enterprise One. The fundamental functionalities are on the solution, but for any extra features and self-service workflow, we handle it outside of JD Edward Enterprise One.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup without a lot of customization is straightforward. I rate it an eight out of ten. However, suppose there are many customizations, and you want to tweak the system to meet your particular function, depending on the complexity. In that case, it may be complex, but it is straightforward with minimal customization and more towards parameterization and customization.
The period for the initial setup could take up to a year or more, depending on the complexity and availability of resources. If you're starting from scratch and don't have a JD Edwards Enterprise One solution and want to implement it in the organization, configure it and set up the system to be functional.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented it in-house because our team has been there for many years and knows the whole system and the business. So they are like internal consultants. They are process experts and JD Edwards Enterprise One experts, and they are the IT guys. A minimum of two people are required for maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The licensing is expensive compared to other solutions on the market, and getting the resources in Bahrain is not easy because very few of us use JD Edwards Enterprise One. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with one being the least expensive and ten being the most expensive.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the solution a seven out of ten. The solution is good but can be improved by including a built-in data warehouse and BI functionalities. I do not recommend the solution for users in Bahrain or Gulf because limited resources are available. However, if they can support it, then I recommend it. However, I recommend it to users in the U.S. or other countries with enough resources to support it.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

Highly customizable and competitively priced, but forms customization should be easier
Pros and Cons
- "Its user interface and ease of navigation are valuable."
- "Forms customization should be easier. Currently, it has to go through the development life cycle."
What is our primary use case?
We're using it in the manufacturing space, and we're using it in the public sector. So, it's a multifaceted system.
What is most valuable?
Its user interface and ease of navigation are valuable. The functionality and enhancement capabilities in terms of development, browsing tables, et cetera are also valuable.
What needs improvement?
I would like to have the ability to easily customize forms. Forms customization should be easier. Currently, it has to go through the development life cycle.
In terms of additional features, they have already added so many features to this product.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for 10 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's very stable. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable. I would rate it an eight out of ten in terms of scalability.
How are customer service and support?
They're very knowledgeable. I would rate them a nine out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've worked on NetSuite, and I've worked on Oracle E-Business. This product is way ahead of its time in terms of features. It's just that it's a mid-tier product that's not recognized a lot. As compared to NetSuite and Oracle E-Business, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is highly customizable, especially in a manufacturing environment.
How was the initial setup?
I find it very easy, but I've been working with it for the last 10 years. I've been working with NetSuite for the last two years, and I've worked with Oracle E-Business for at least one year or two years. In terms of setup, I find JD Edwards very flexible.
I would rate it an eight out of ten in terms of the setup. It's difficult to set up, but once you know the software, you can go through it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It's very competitively priced. The only problem now is that most of the industry is moving towards software as a service or a subscription model, whereas JD Edwards has a capital expenditure. You would spend on the licenses once off. You can either host it on-premise or in the cloud, but there is a licensing fee once a year.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate it a seven out of ten.
