It's flexibility to make custom processes is valuable but the inventory module needs to be improved.
What is most valuable?
How has it helped my organization?
It has helped control operations in our Storage and Distribution Center, including processes such as
- Product reception
- Inventory
- Quality and inspection management
- Shipping
- General ledger
- Invoicing
What needs improvement?
The inventory module needs to be improved as it is not that easy to use.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used it for approximately three years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
No issues encountered.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No relevance but I recommend, despite it being a mid-market oriented ERP, to have the production environment completely separated into different servers (not only databases but also the application too) so you can test new releases frequently.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
No issues encountered.
How are customer service and support?
Customer Service:
3.5/5.
Technical Support:3.5/5.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used a different solution and we switched because the previous solution was completely for small business.
How was the initial setup?
It was straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
We used a vendor team (re-seller) and I'd give them a 3.5/5.
What was our ROI?
26%.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The initial cost was US$110,000 and the ongoing cost is approximately US$9,000 annually.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We also looked at solutions from Oracle and SAP.
What other advice do I have?
It's a really good choice for mid-market companies, companies with simple processes and/or companies at a start-up phase. Do a thorough evaluation of the company or consultants that are going to do the implementation, and try to keep your processes simple. Do the certification for the EPICOR customization programming languages as well.

Has job management feature which is useful for material planning but UI can be complex
Pros and Cons
- "I find the job management features of Epicor ERP most useful, especially for material planning. The ERP gives a perfect overview of many aspects. The scheduling is also helpful. It lets us see what we're planning and try different scenarios. For real-time analytics, I use it mostly for planning and "what if" scenarios."
- "The UI is quite logical, but it needs time to train users because some functions are complex to understand. As for cons, some calculation logic is difficult to grasp and requires time to test and try out. Creating dashboards or reports needs some technical IT knowledge."
What is our primary use case?
We use the product in the manufacturing industry.
What is most valuable?
I find the job management features of Epicor ERP most useful, especially for material planning. The ERP gives a perfect overview of many aspects. The scheduling is also helpful. It lets us see what we're planning and try different scenarios. For real-time analytics, I use it mostly for planning and "what if" scenarios.
Epicor ERP's pros include detailed analytics of my company, industry, and processes. It also has a user forum where you can get support from others who use the same features.
What needs improvement?
The UI is quite logical, but it needs time to train users because some functions are complex to understand. As for cons, some calculation logic is difficult to grasp and requires time to test and try out. Creating dashboards or reports needs some technical IT knowledge.
For future improvements, I'd like to see more in-app support, like explanations when hovering over fields, to clarify what I'm doing without searching through help articles.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the product since 2023.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before Epicor ERP, I worked with Odoo, which I still use but to a lesser extent than Epicor ERP.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend Epicor ERP, especially for companies with complex, multi-level production processes like plastic manufacturing. I rate the overall solution a six out of ten.
