Powerful and customizable reporting
Pros and Cons
  • "Zoho Analytics is the best software for giving reports to customers and we can create any report that is required."
  • "This solution does not support manufacturing facilities."

What is our primary use case?

We are a solution provider and Zoho Analytics is one of the products that we implement for our customers. It is used to improve the customer experience from CRM up to inventory.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is reporting. Zoho Analytics is the best software for giving reports to customers and we can create any report that is required. It is very easy to do.

You can supply data to this solution in many other forms, such as an Excel spreadsheet.

What needs improvement?

This solution does not support manufacturing facilities.

Across Zoho products, it is not possible to consider multiple types of discounts. For example, if you give a discount on one level, and then want to give a separate discount at the invoice level, it is not possible.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Zoho Analytics for between three and four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have had no issues with respect to stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

One of our customers is a very large television network. For them, we handle all of the requested customizations in Zoho.

How are customer service and technical support?

They have gives us support when we have needed it.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very simple, and not complex.

The length of time for deployment depends on the complexity of the reports. If there are only a few reports then it can be done in perhaps an hour's time. It's very simple but some kinds of reports are complex and take longer. For example, property dealers have their own cost sheet and it has more than 620 fields of data with different combinations of calculations. Definitely, reports of this type take between two and three days to create.

What about the implementation team?

We have a very good technical team that handles deployment and maintenance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't feel that price is an issue for this product. Sometimes we lose a client because of the pricing but that is part of any business.

What other advice do I have?

Personally, I am completely satisfied with Zoho Analytics and it is definitely a product I recommend.

My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is to think about how much time you will be saving in developing reports. The question is why you would want to develop a new report when the facility is already available in Zoho Analytics. It is a waste of time and your customer's money to recreate reports that already exist.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Has good support, a good UI, and connecting to databases is very easy
Pros and Cons
  • "We really like that it's user friendly and has a lot of combinations and charts. They're good compared to other tools. We used a free Elastic product, comparatively, this solution is good because of their support, UI, and connecting to databases is very easy."
  • "In terms of improvement, they have a limited number of graphs available in their store. They should come up with more graph style forms. They should have more charts and at the same time, you can't create panels like with Microsoft BA."

What is most valuable?

We really like that it's user friendly and has a lot of combinations and charts. They're good compared to other tools. We used a free Elastic product, comparatively, this solution is good because of their support, UI, and connecting to databases is very easy.

What needs improvement?

In terms of improvement, they have a limited number of graphs available in their store. They should come up with more graph style forms. They should have more charts and at the same time, you can't create panels like with Microsoft BA.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoho Analytics for nine to ten months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable. It works.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We checked the scalability and it is scalable.

There are around four to five users who use this solution. The users are primarily developers. We develop dashboards and analytics and then give them to our clients. Three to four people deploy it and implement it for our clients.

How are customer service and technical support?

Zoho technical support is good.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very easy and user-friendly. The deployment took two to three hours, it's very easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I also used a BA tool but the issues with those dashboards were that the license prices were very high for the Indian market.

Zoho prices are reasonable. We have different plans with them; monthly, quarterly, yearly.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Zoho Analytics an eight out of ten.

They have imited graphs. In the next release, I would like for them to have features like Microsoft BA, in which we can create clickable buttons to help us navigate. Zoho does not have this. If they could develop those buttons in the next release, it would be helpful.

Makes it easier and quicker for us to create insightful visualisations
Pros and Cons
  • "The integration interface is very easy to use and allows you to directly connect to a variety of APIs."
  • "It would be great to have more user input fields which can be used on dashboards."

What is our primary use case?

We use Zoho Reports for process, organisational analysis, and improvement. This means bringing in different data related to an organisational process and structure, including roles, responsibilities, systems, data, etc. We use the visualisations to identify trends and outliers in the data which helps us to find improvement opportunities.

How has it helped my organization?

Zoho Reports makes it easier and quicker for us to create insightful visualisations. It is much easier than downloading the data, then wrestling with Excel. The interactive visualisations can be shared very easily with colleagues and customers. It has made things easier and allowed us to deliver more value to our customers.

What is most valuable?

The report builder is very simple to use, and is one of the most intuitive that I have used. It is not as comprehensive as some, especially the more expensive tools, but that is the beauty of it; the simplicity. The integration interface is very easy to use and allows you to directly connect to a variety of APIs.

What needs improvement?

It would be great to have more user input fields which can be used on dashboards. For example, variables or sliders that can be used to change assumptions which have been made in the analysis.

Some more graphical options would also be great.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have seen a couple of bugs, but they were resolved very quickly. We found information on the bugs in the support portal.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our usage is fairly limited in terms of the amount of data that we use.

How are customer service and technical support?

There is a good support portal. Questions are answered quickly. Their team is happy to jump on a WebEx to help you out, if necessary,

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used TIBCO Spotfire and Qlik Sense in the past. Both are great tools, but cost was the main factor, and Zoho Reports did everything that we needed.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very simple. Although, if you need to do more than the most basic reports, then a knowledge of SQL is useful.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented using an internal team.

What was our ROI?

An exact ROI is hard to calculate. However, we have definitely made sales that would have been much harder, or unlikely, as a result of the speed with which we were able to prepare comprehensive analysis.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I would recommend looking at your usage and whether the Zoho One license model would work for your organisation. It is very cost effective if you use other Zoho tools.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Only previous used tools and MS Excel.

What other advice do I have?

Setting it up is pretty easy.

Generates graphs on the web but it should have more options for graphics.

What is most valuable?

The fact that it generates graphs on the web is a valuable feature.

How has it helped my organization?

We created quality indices that were presented in a TV production.

What needs improvement?

It should have more options for graphics, if it stayed with the quality of graphs of excel, would be great.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

No.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

No.

No.

Dashboards and pivot tables.

Improvements to My Organization:

We are a hotel chain. There are seven hotels all over the country and Zoho Reports let us collect important information without traveling or sending big e-mails.

Use of Solution:

Five months.

Initial Setup:

It was not complex, I think the videos help a lot.

I chose Zoho Reports because of the interface, the features it offered and for handling huge volumes of data.

Before Zoho Reports, we were using a combination of a proprietary system and Microsoft Access for all our reporting needs. The system started showing strains, as the data kept on growing closer to 100 million rows. Also, using this system meant the Business Analytics department needed lots of development hours to generate the reports each month. Making these reports reach the intended users in a user-friendly fashion was a big challenge too, as there was no easy way to share the reports, other than generating user-specific reports and emailing them as attachments.

We used our proprietary systems as well as Microsoft Access, for our reporting needs. Our proprietary systems are very complex and require development hours for reporting. Our intention is to get more data to our users in a user-friendly environment for filtering, etc. We had simply outgrown this system (the reporting we conduct on Microsoft Access, in conjunction with our proprietary system) both for transaction level, as well as the number of employees who need to be engaged in reporting.

I started collecting recommendations from others and researched online for alternative solutions to their current reporting environment. I chose Zoho Reports because of the interface and the robust features it offered, for handling the huge volumes of data quickly and efficiently. Zoho Reports also allowed me to carry out quick and efficient changes of data and reports, through the GUI.

We are currently using Zoho Reports for our financial partners who need user-friendly access to large volumes of data. We now have around 100 million rows of data in Zoho Reports, and the number of rows are growing every month. And we are building out the infrastructure needed to support more robust weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, as well as ad hoc reporting for our corporate level analysis, sales contests, and our franchise system reporting as a whole.
