On-premises

My clients use Veeam One for monitoring. Veeam One offers backups and VM monitoring.

Veeam One is easy to use. You don't need to get very technical or specific class training. Anyone can start using it.

In my customer's feedback, one thing they liked a lot was the reporting. There is a reporting tool from Veeam One. My customers use reports and can generate reports based on anything they want. They can then compile the report and use them for multiple purposes. My customers use the reports for auditing and reporting, such as quarterly reports.

Veeam One has its ransomware monitoring, but it's based on static parameters. Maybe they can put in AI or ML to get an understanding of our customer's environment, so we don't need to manually tweak the static parameters to meet the customer's environment.

I have about two years of experience with Veeam One, but my company deployed it three or four years ago.

I rate Veeam One's stability an eight out of ten. I don't hear any issues from my customers.

I rate Veeam One's scalability a seven out of ten. The solution has some limitations with scaling, so we need to put in some workarounds to scale it. However, the solution is still scalable.

In Malaysia, we have SMB and even enterprise customers. We have two banking customers using Veeam One.

Veeam One has different support centers around the region because of the time zone. In Malaysia, the morning support will be in Australia. After three o'clock in Malaysia, Australia's shift ends, and if we need to continue to work on a case, we need to get the support team to transfer the case to another team, and it takes time to do the handover. That process could be faster.

Before Veeam One, I tried Veritas. In Veritas, if we want to monitor the virtual infrastructure, that is a separate license. Veeam One is very straightforward because it's called the virtual machine. If you have 100 virtual machines, you have to get 100 licenses. Veritas needs a capped speed license, which means I need to understand the customer's environment around the capped speed they use for the virtual machines. The license structure is complex for Veritas. And it is difficult to forecast the capped speed for the next few years of growth.

The initial setup is really simple.

Veeam One's cost is cheaper. I rate its pricing a seven or an eight out of ten. The price is pretty cheap for our market. It's a really good price for the quality of the product.

Most clients don't want to use vRealize Operations since it is expensive.

I rate Veeam One a seven out of ten. There are some improvements, but for the price point and features, I think that Veeam One is a great product.

On-premises

The solution helps us understand the infrastructure more and gives insights to develop further business plans.

The solution's reporting feature could be better. They should provide more insightful reports.

The solution's customer service is good.

I rate the solution as an eight. It is good but not an essential product.

Veeam Backup Replication can be deployed on the cloud and on-premise. We choose the best option based on many factors, such as the environment complexity and maturity of the customer.

We use Veeam Backup Replication as a backup and recovery solution.

Veeam Backup Replication's most valuable features are the ease of use and the interface is very configurable for the users. It's a very familiar solution in Algeria. 

The documentation and communication could be better in Veeam Backup Replication.

I have been using Veeam Backup & Replication for approximately 15 years.

The technical support from Veeam is very good.

Most of my customers previously used Veritas backup solutions.

The solution is very easy to implement.

We discovered Veeam Backup Replication with our presales people in our company. We did a POC at our office which is mandatory by our technical director when we discover a new solution. We go to the customer and discuss with them the difference and benefit of Veritas Backup Exec and Veeam and which can best suit their environment. Additionally, we show them the difference between using Veritas Backup Exec and the Veeam Backup Replication.

Veeam needs to work on their marketing for their solutions.

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate Veeam Backup Replication a nine out of ten.

We primarily use the solution for backup replication - mostly for Office 365 Backup and sometimes as a cloud backup.

It is a global major solution for quite a lot of people. That makes it easy to find somebody who knows how to work with Veeam Backup.

The scalability is good.

The solution needs to have the capacity to address more legacy workloads. For example, things like integration with tapes.

The initial setup can get complex. 

We've been working with the solution for a while. 

The solution can scale. It's a solution that is enabled me to 500 VMs.

The initial setup can be complex. 

Some environments can become really complex and big environments are often difficult.

For a small environment, deployment can be four days, including what must be done to achieve a real project. For a big environment, it depends, but it can be much longer.

We were evaluating Spectrum Protect Plus, but we are not really using it and we are not selling it.

We are always working with the latest upgrade.

I'd advise users to feel free to do a proof of concept to verify that it covers every use case that they need at least.

Our clients that use this solution are companies that requires basic to advanced backup solutions, including their own hardware. 

The backup and replication features of this solution are most valuable.

I would prefer it if the backup console did not require use of a specified program, but rather that it could be opened from any website.

We use Veeam Backup Replication for on-site data backups.

Veeam Backup Replication is a bit difficult to use. If you have used other solutions such as Commvault, you will find it is much easier to use. Veeam Backup Replication does backups in a different way that is not as simple as other solutions. Doing backups of SQL Servers is much easier in Commvault. However, the difficulty could be the lack of experience I have had with Veeam Backup Replication.

I have been using Veeam Backup Replication for approximately one year.

Veeam Backup Replication is stable I have not had any problems.

I have used Commvault previously and I liked it better than Veeam Backup Replication. I am only using Veeam Backup Replication because my client already was using it in their environment.

Commvault is not intuitive in the beginning, especially the older versions with all the management tools.

The price of Veeam Backup Replication is reasonable.

I rate Veeam Backup Replication a seven out of ten.
