Jobs can be scheduled without interrupting processes
Pros and Cons
  • "The Orchestrator module is very effective because it allows me to schedule the jobs in a particular manner without interrupting any processes so that it can automatically handle it."
  • "If UiPath can identify where it has gone wrong and try to identify the bottleneck value, which are more machine learning in AI, it would be great."

What is our primary use case?

Here are two use cases: one involves a customer with an insurance domain. They had multiple underwriting claims, loss prevention, members, or teams, and they were doing manual filing of the documents or correspondence. We automated the document filing system using UiPath. We had users send the documents to a particular email box with a particular subject line. Then, we had the UiPath robot automatically read those email subject lines and automatically file into SharePoint online.

The second use case involves creating new policies in an underwriting system or renewing the older policies in the system automatically. The robot will read the Excel file in a particular structure and will create new policies or renew the existing policies in the underwriting system automatically, building on certain key business rules. The successes or exceptions will be reported to the business.

How has it helped my organization?

By automating the document filing system for our customer with an insurance domain, we were able to save them eight to nine years of individual-person-effort with regard to filing. We have saved them almost 1800- to 2000-person days of work.

Also, there was a team that used to key in the data for delegated underwriting authorities to create the policies or renew the policies. However, with the success rate we have achieved with UiPath, we have been able to bring down those efforts as well so that our customer can utilize that team in other valuable activities.

What is most valuable?

UiPath has a low code or development.

Also, the Orchestrator module is very effective because it allows me to schedule the jobs in a particular manner without interrupting any processes so that it can automatically handle it.

The UiPath libraries or classes in which the flows are maintained are very effective. UiPath has a very meaningful or powerful parameter-driven approach such as the flows approach. So, you can customize the flows as required, and you can use that for further business processes as well.

A rich use of libraries and reusable assets can be created in UiPath, which is quite significant.

What needs improvement?

One key aspect is how UiPath in itself can provide certain views of where an exception has occurred. If UiPath can identify where it has gone wrong and try to identify the bottleneck value, which are more machine learning in AI, it would be great.

If they can strengthen that core area as well as in the business processes side, not as a separate module but within the current RPM module itself, it will be really helpful. If they can bring AI and ML algorithms within it, it will be great.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with UiPath Process Mining for almost three years.

We have a hybrid cloud process.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

If you have implemented it correctly with detailed requirements, refinement, and correct processes and standards, then it will be very stable.

Our processes are running for the last few years in a very stable manner without any major concerns or failures in production. This has increased our credibility with our customers as well regarding the stability of UiPath Process Mining.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is scalable, but it is key that you identify the right use cases to implement STEM. If you have to convert a lot of complex manual interventions into an automated process, then things may be really difficult to scale. However, if you have a process that is very rule-driven, then it would be quite scalable. So, the scalability depends on the complexity of the business process.

How are customer service and support?

We received adequate support, but sometimes the turn around time to get into a particular root cause was high. So, I would rate technical support at eight out of ten on a scale from one to ten.

How was the initial setup?

Deployment is very quick in the case of RPA, and it takes less than five minutes. It's very effective.

We have certain standardized checklists, guidelines, and best practices, which we recommend all the team members go through at the start of the project. They follow STEM. Similarly, we take care of STEM during deployment checklists and then book preparation as well, so that the deployments are quite quick and easy for the release management team.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it through an in-house team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a standard licensing fee, which is charged for the products, but it is very module-driven and depends on your utilization or your team size. Compared to that of other providers, the cost is average or below average. So, from a pricing perspective, it's not very high.

For example, let's say you are developing a new process that has to be a fully automated process without any manual intervention. You will then need to buy a robot, a studio, which you have to use for development, and an Orchestrator to deploy that bot. You will also need one non-production license for your test environment.

So, there will be three to four different products that you have to plug together and buy as a package, but each will have its own individual licensing cost. When you have to scale, you can scale as many licenses as you need to for development and for running the bots in production.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere.

What other advice do I have?

There are two key things: one is to collaborate with the right UiPath partner. The second is to identify the right toolkit that will help you to get the ROI, especially when you want quick benefits or want to build confidence with the business.

I recommend that you have all use cases backlogged and then discuss these items with the stakeholders, business process owners, and business stakeholders. Then, get everything vetted by an implementation partner. Also, discuss with UiPath if required and then implement the processes.

On a scale from one to ten, I would rate UiPath Process Mining at nine.

Stable, has good scalability, and integrates well with third-party systems, but its pricing is too expensive
Pros and Cons
  • "What I find good in UiPath Process Mining is that it integrates well with SAP."
  • "An area for improvement in UiPath Process Mining is that its pricing is too expensive, particularly when compared to Power Automate."

What is most valuable?

What I find good in UiPath Process Mining is that it integrates well with SAP.

What needs improvement?

An area for improvement in UiPath Process Mining is that its pricing is too expensive, particularly when compared to Power Automate.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been selling UiPath Process Mining for a year or so.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is a stable product.

Excellent platform to work with, responsive technical support, and scalable with any applications
Pros and Cons
  • "UiPath Process Mining is definitely stable."
  • "I think they need to look at pricing. Now in the market, there are other process mining applications that are far cheaper."

What is our primary use case?

We work with many SAP-based clients, ninety percent of the time. Any P2P process, or purchase payment process which takes or consumes a lot of time, you can put through UiPath Process Mining to understand where the bottlenecks are. Any of the applications will serve as a good use case to understand where the bottlenecks of the application are.

What is most valuable?

UiPath Process Mining platform works very well with process mining. Process mining connects to SAP, and other applications, giving you the output desired. You need other applications to support what you have found out.

What needs improvement?

I think they need to look at pricing. Since acquiring Process Gold it was stable on process mining. But now in the market, there are other process mining applications that are far cheaper. I think subsequent versions should focus on reducing the price.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath Process Mining for the last year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is definitely stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Ui Path Process Mining is scalable, once you have Process Mining, you can tie it up, or stitch it with any applications that you have in your company.

How are customer service and support?

They have always been supportive and given us the assistance we need.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

If it has to be done at an enterprise level, I think it would be slightly complex. But with the trial and the learning part of it is very easy.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are UiPath partners, so it was straight out of the box. We did not explore anything else. But we have consultants who have worked on Celonis. And most recently, we have consultants who are working with SAP Signavio, which is also a process mining tool.

What other advice do I have?

Explore and do not look only from a technical side, but also have sufficient functional consultants who know the application and the processes in and out, to support the deployment. Together, they can deliver the final output. Otherwise, if you are too dependent on just the technical people, I do not think process mining will succeed in the company. I would rate UiPath Process Mining an eight out of ten.

Resilient and time-saving solution with good ROI
Pros and Cons
  • "UiPath Process Mining's most valuable feature is its integration with RPA's bots."
  • "The configurations on the ERP platforms could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

I mainly use UiPath Process Mining for our internal financial processes, which need insights into the process workflows. UiPath Process Mining allows us to align our workflow to have a better result rate in terms of the APA processes.

How has it helped my organization?

There were a lot of gaps in our process, and UiPath Process Mining allowed us to find and fill those gaps, so now the process takes less time, and the customer outcome delivery has been improved.

What is most valuable?

UiPath Process Mining's most valuable feature is its integration with RPA's bots.

What needs improvement?

The configurations on the ERP platforms could be improved. In the next release, I would like UiPath Process Mining to include better integration with some of their other offerings, more ERP platforms, and more legacy systems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using UiPath Process Mining for fourteen to fifteen months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is pretty stable because it's highly resilient. We've seen little to no downtime in the past four-and-a-half years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is scalable - we can get the number of services we need as per our demand.

How are customer service and support?

UiPath's technical support is very good and responsive.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite straightforward because we used the SaaS offering, which integrated easily with our internal applications. Deployment took around a month. I would rate the setup experience as four out of five.

What about the implementation team?

We got direct help from the UiPath support team.

What was our ROI?

We haven't yet calculated our ROI, but our projections show we'll be able to reach out to 100-plus users, with savings of approximately more than $1 million over three years.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

UiPath's licensing is based on how many documents we process using this solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Celonis.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise anyone considering implementing UiPath Process Mining to go for the cloud version instead of the on-prem. On-prem requires a lot in terms of specification and management, and the cost will eventually rise. However, the SaaS model is cost-effective and very easy to maintain and manage because UiPath takes care of infrastructure and so on. I would rate UiPath Process Mining as nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

The human-in-the-loop features are helpful
Pros and Cons
  • "UiPath's human-in-the-loop features are helpful."
  • "It would be nice if UiPath's Document Understanding feature supported more languages. I don't think it supports Chinese or Japanese. We have been working in the Asia-Pacific region for a long time, and this prevents us from recommending the solution to some customers."

What is most valuable?

UiPath's human-in-the-loop features are helpful.

What needs improvement?

It would be nice if UiPath's Document Understanding feature supported more languages. I don't think it supports Chinese or Japanese. We have been working in the Asia-Pacific region for a long time, and this prevents us from recommending the solution to some customers.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using UiPath Process Mining for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In general, UiPath is stable, but the document understanding part is less reliable. Some of our clients using document understanding were not happy with the results.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I think UiPath is scalable. That's what customers are looking for right now.

How was the initial setup?

UiPath is easy to set up on a machine, but it's a bit difficult to install it on a more complex cloud environment. For example, it's complicated to deploy across two AWS instances.

What was our ROI?

It takes a bit longer to see value. A customer will see ROI if they have a sizeable budget and the patience to wait until they get a return.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

UiPath is a bit on the higher side compared to solutions like Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism. However, people tend to go with UiPath because it's more seamlessness.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath Process Mining eight out of 10. New products are coming out like ABBYY OCR that claim they can do these things better, but they can't. The cost per page for UiPath is on the higher side, so that is the reason.

Good support and stable, but it is not intuitive and easy to work with
Pros and Cons
  • "Their support is really good, and it is a stable product."
  • "It should be more intuitive and easy to work with. There should be more ways of creating filters, and it should be easy to make our own customized dashboards. Currently, if I want to create a dashboard similar to the one we have in AppOne but with different attributes, it is very difficult. There are activities, but I don't want activities. I want other attributes. Its user interface is not very intuitive. You need to play around with it. I have been playing around with the UiPath Process Mining tool for almost two years, and now I feel confident in handling it. It is a difficult tool."

What is our primary use case?

I'm an automation consultant, and I work with UiPath Process Mining and also UiPath Studio.

We are a consulting company, and I and a colleague are creating all the results, and we have to present them to the customer. My colleague is handling all the business conversations, and I'm the technical person creating all the dashboards and making whatever the customer is asking for available.

What is most valuable?

Their support is really good, and it is a stable product.

What needs improvement?

It lacks certain features. For example, if we have data from one activity that is connected to another activity or number and there is a one-to-one connection, when we want to dig into that, it fails. I had to create another workspace and make heavy changes, which was time-consuming.

It should be more intuitive and easy to work with. It is a difficult tool.

In addition, if there were dropdown options for picking an activity and dropping it somewhere, it would make the work easy.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I am not sure about its scalability because I haven't scaled it. I have not
connected a process to different processes. I just had the data from one process, and I had to do the analysis.

In terms of its users, in my company, there are just two users. I and a colleague of mine are working with UiPath Process Mining.

How are customer service and support?

I have one contact person whom I contact whenever I have issues. He is supportive, very knowledgeable, and very prompt in answering the questions. I would rate their support a five out of five.

How was the initial setup?

It was easy. I'm using the AppOne template, which makes it comparatively easy. You just have to map all the basic attributes, and you can have the first look at your data. If the customer or business is asking for further investigation or features, then it gets difficult.

What other advice do I have?

From the development or technical perspective, you should have a basic knowledge of coding. If a customer is asking for some specific features, it becomes a little bit difficult. Therefore, it is always recommended to have sufficient knowledge. With a technical background, you can easily work with UiPath Process Mining.

I have been working intensively on it, and I like it, but a few small features are missing. I would rate it a seven out of 10.

User-friendly OEM with complex enterprise onboarding
Pros and Cons
  • "This solution is very easy to use and implement as you are able to partner with a cloud enterprise and be on your way."
  • "I would like for user onboarding/onboarding of enterprise clients to be simplified in the next release."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution for finance reporting, reconciliations and we just started doing process mining on one of the contact centers using the UiPath assistance.

What is most valuable?

This solution is very easy to use and implement as you are able to partner with a cloud enterprise and be on your way.

What needs improvement?

I would like for user onboarding/onboarding of enterprise clients to be simplified in the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for about four and a half years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have yet to experience any issues that have required support intervention.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have UiPath, Blue Prism, and Automation Anywhere deployed at our facility and UiPath is the easiest to use.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite easy and took about an hour for individual computers and one day for the enterprise as a whole.

What was our ROI?

I have seen ROI but do not have specific data.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is an annual subscription. It could be cheaper in my opinion, but it is still more affordable than other OEMs. This solution probably would not be ideal for people in the startup environment.

Tech support is included with the enterprise license.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

Satisfactory online support, and the solution is robust
Pros and Cons
  • "I have never had issues with online technical support."
  • "It would be helpful to make the spy modules more accurate."

What needs improvement?

There is room for improvement in the design studios. Design studios and exception handling are the two that we usually migrate to Blue Prism because Blue Prism's exception handling and design studios are much more, user-friendly.

It would be helpful to make the spy modules more accurate.

The spy modules will integrate your Citrix-based programs. Many people are moving to Citrix-based systems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with UiPath Process Mining since 2019.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is a very stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The most significant issue with scalability on most platforms, such as Blue Prism and UiPath, is that they are extremely expensive.

How are customer service and support?

I have never had issues with online technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have also been working with Blue Prism since 2016, 2017. We are using version 6.9.

Automation based on the browser. The browser base is very stable, but there is some room for improvement in the spying elements on some websites. It's your capability where you actually spy something and run it unattended because most of our bots are unattended fields, so you have to build in a whole backup just to deal with it that way.

Blue Prism is very stable.

They are expensive in terms of scalability. I believe their bots, particularly their resource bots, are superior to the majority of the others. You can run three solutions on one resource.

They're brilliant. Blue Prism has outstanding technical support.

It's not as simple as drag and drop. You have to design your own solution within Blue Prism. People need to concentrate more. Blue Prism is more unattended than attended, so they must concentrate more on your exception handling on Blue Prism to get the product to work perfectly.

The Blue Prism is simple to design, but handling exceptions requires careful thought. However, that product never fails.

I would rate Blue Prism a nine out of ten.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is extremely expensive.

What other advice do I have?

One thing to remember about RPA is that you must first identify the appropriate processes. If you want to maximize your value impact, you must first identify the appropriate processes.

I would rate UiPath Process Mining an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
