Identifies and automates repetitive tasks to eliminate human error and save time
Pros and Cons
  • "It saves our clients a lot of time."
  • "I think they need to work more on producing low code to make it more end-user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

We implement this solution for our customers.

Let's say we have a client that needs to work on two systems or has to enter certain transactions within two systems. Thanks to this solution, now they can enter this information using one system — they can automatically copy these transactions into that access system. Some of our clients have thousands of transactions per month that they automate through UiPath.

How has it helped my organization?

It saves our clients a lot of time. Considering the amount of time they used to spend and the number of errors made, this solution has helped them a lot — It's made them more accurate. This solution saves them thousands of hours every month.

What needs improvement?

It's too early to say as we've only been working with this solution for six months. However, the main issue I have is with its programming. I think they need to work more on producing low code to make it more end-user-friendly. I think there's a big dependency on developers and technical teams in the background.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been working with this solution for roughly six months.

Data collection and cleaning needs improvement; process mapping tool is a good feature
Pros and Cons
  • "Process mapping tool is most valuable tool."
  • "Has a very limited way of collecting process data."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case of this solution is helping companies understand their business forecast so that we can identify opportunities for automation. Before getting to the automation, we always make an analysis of where the process friction is and we try to address any issues. We are customers of UiPath and I'm the CCO.

What is most valuable?

I think Process Mining's most important feature is the process mapping tool. There's always a high-level map and a low-level map. High-level refers to the high-level process steps and then low-level for low level. It's a matter of connecting the two together.

What needs improvement?

The main issue for us is how data is being collected. I think a lot of Process Mining's tool has a very limited way of collecting process data. Industry-wide there's a gap and data collection needs improvement, it's a constant challenge. Any demo will show an ideal case but when you use it in the actual environment, collecting data is a real problem. Cleaning the data is also a problem, and then being able to analyze it and make any meaningful sense out of the whole thing is the issue.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for a year.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't reached the point where we can scale up. Most of the cases are still very small scale. I can't quite imagine doing a very major implementation at this point.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't contacted technical support, it's still very much based on whatever's available in the community.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is quite complex. Ideally, you want to get hold of a trial version. One of the reasons I couldn't use TouchUI power, is because it wasn't available for a trial version. So I can't try it out, even in a small simulator environment.

What other advice do I have?

I wouldn't recommend this solution.

I would rate this solution a four out of 10.

Easy to use and has good support
Pros and Cons
  • "Its most valuable features are that it is easy to use and to find people who actually do the UiPath."
  • "Instead of doing only UiPath bots, it should handle other bots as well. Then I can deploy automation anywhere on any other software. It should not be only UiPath. That's the future of it."

What is our primary use case?

So far our primary use has been for process flow. How do you automate? In most of the cases, it was multi-source data collection systems from multiple sources and getting all the information to one point. There is an email or a message. Then how do you get the data from different sources and put them into one language? So far most of the use cases were just that.

What is most valuable?

Its most valuable features are that it is easy to use and to find people who actually use the UiPath.

What needs improvement?

The main thing that can be improved is the price, nobody wants to pay that much money for a scheduler.

Another feature they can add is, instead of doing only UiPath bots, it should handle other bots as well. Then I can deploy automation anywhere on any other software. It should not be only UiPath. That's the future of it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using ProcessGold for a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. I think there are three people from my team using the solution now.

How are customer service and technical support?

Overall the technical support is good. I'm satisfied with it.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. You just need to have UiPath and it's straightforward. Deployment time depends on the problem you're trying to solve. In our case, it took three to four days.

The client has the software and the licenses, and we are the guys who program it for them. The maintenance is up to the client. We just file up and give it to them, that's it. All the guys are on-site during development and deployment.

Our clients are enterprise sized companies.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Since it's a former client, they are generally UiPath resellers. They already have that connection with UiPath so they get a cheaper expert. But if we are looking for other deployments, they become really expensive because the ROI is difficult to attain for small scale businesses.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend ProcessGold, but I think the price has to come down. It's too high.

On a scale of one to ten, I would give ProcessGold an eight.

Effective invoice processing, scalable, but interface could be better
Pros and Cons
  • "UiPath Process Mining is scalable."
  • "We feel there is some problem with the user interface, it is sometimes difficult to navigate to the area you want. Additionally, the bot hangs at times."

What is our primary use case?

We are using UiPath Process Mining for procurement and finance automation.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath Process Mining has improved our organization by clearing invoices. We use it to take information from the manual invoice, which is generated by the suppliers, to read, scan, and input the invoice data into the SAP system for clearance. We use the raw data from the supplier invoice and feeding into the system.

What needs improvement?

We feel there is some problem with the user interface, it is sometimes difficult to navigate to the area you want. Additionally, the bot hangs at times.

In the next release, it would be beneficial to have a conversational bot that can give voice alerts for problems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used UiPath Process Mining within the last 12 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In our testing, UiPath Process Mining has been stable. We have had some bot delays, but overall it has been good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath Process Mining is scalable.

What was our ROI?

The return of investment happens over three years.

What other advice do I have?

Those looking to implement UiPath Process Mining should go through the modules step by step and get familiar with the bots in the system, only then should they scale up. They should not scale up too many systems at the same time.

I rate UiPath Process Mining a seven out of ten.

Provides the option to build flows; unfortunately licensing is quite expensive
Pros and Cons
  • "You can build flows with this product."
  • "It's quite an expensive solution."

What is our primary use case?

We're using this solution to build our own process mining - we already had UiPath licensing for that, so we took UiPath to see how efficient it was. We are customers of UiPath Process Mining and I'm the senior manager.

What is most valuable?

The solution gives you the option in process mining to build flows which is a good feature.

What needs improvement?

Licensing could be cheaper, it's quite expensive.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using this solution for a couple of months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable product, it's a decent product.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is good although they could respond more quickly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward, it took a few minutes. We implemented it ourselves but had access to technical support if we'd needed it.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a seven out of 10.

Intuitive features that make it less complex, but they could increase the data management feature set
Pros and Cons
  • "It's an extensive solution."
  • "The user interface could be more user intuitive."

What is most valuable?

It's an extensive solution.

Some of the more intuitive features make it a little bit less complex.

What needs improvement?

The user interface could be more user intuitive.

Also, they need some better data management features. For example, as far as what we are collecting, being able to decipher and comprehend what the process or flow is, that we are looking at.

They could increase the feature set.

I would like to see the ability to do fixes, such as to address and mitigate some of the gaps or issues in the process flow.

They could develop models, or use cases that can be leveraged for mitigating and remediating process gaps.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate UiPath Process Mining a seven out of ten.

Capture process helps to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them but stability needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the capture process. That is really good because it helps you to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them. It helps to make it more visibility and tangibility into what you are doing in terms of the processes."
  • "It is stable, but not the top of the curve. It can be improved, let's put it that way."

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the capture process. That is really good because it helps you to understand how your process steps work and what you can do to improve them. It helps to make it more visibility and tangibility into what you are doing in terms of the processes.

There is room for improvement. It is a helpful tool, I don't want to imply that it's useless. It helps to figure out if there are any steps that can be removed. It also helps to simplify the process and with the standardization of tasks because if you ask two people who are basically doing the same thing, to capture those steps you'll figure out that there is a lot of redundancy improvements in terms of aligning the way of working and maybe reducing some steps or removing them completely.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath Process Mining for three months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable, but not the top of the curve. It can be improved, let's put it that way.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, it's medium to high. In my company, there are around 10 to 15 users. No more than that. I think it's a good number of people because usually these kinds of processes are not used by everybody. It's for process experts who are trying to understand and to eliminate waste within your process.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is good although it can be further enhanced. By that I mean that it should have a faster response. When you have an incident or a ticket we expect a quicker response.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also looked at Celonis. It does pretty much the same thing. The advantage of Celonis is that you can see that the log has a bunch of low activity in one Excel file and then the tool can process that information and provide you with some insight.

This is an aspect that we are interested in. Of course, it is not suitable for all processes because it is highly dependent on the technology that you need to have the log available in. But if you have the log available then it is quite helpful to have a tool to analyze that.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy because it is a cloud version, so it's not so complicated. I'm not sure about the on-premise. Maybe the one on-premise would be more difficult to install but I don't have experience with that.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Considering that the solution is not fully stabilized and is not a mature product, the pricing can be further reduced. I expect it to be a little bit lower, especially during this time because it is in a maturity curve so they are ramping up the product. I expect it to be a little lower than what it is.

What other advice do I have?

UiPath is a solid company. It's almost the best on the market today. Process mining is something that will help the RPA process because, in the end, those tools, like process mining/ process simplification and standardization are hand in the hand of RPA. Process mining will reach a certain level in the future. I think it is a company to look at and to invest in this technology. Grow with the company because it's a solid one.

I would rate it a seven out of ten.

In the next release, I would like for there to be a way to automatically do mining activity instead of recording yourself on the screen. Similar to other products on the market.

Straightforward to set up, good support, and is very handy for beginning with RPA
Pros and Cons
  • "What I like about this solution is the way it identifies the process and the transformation from data to some analysis between appliances."
  • "Not everyone in the business can readily provide the kind of information that is to be put into process mining, which is an area that needs to be worked on."

What is our primary use case?

We are IT, service providers. We help our customers use this solution.

When you have a huge inventory of business processes, and you need to understand where to begin your automation journey.

That is where process mining becomes a very handy, tool.

With the help of the CPG logs, we can data mine the database logs, which processes consume more time, which is more critical, and which is more business.

What is most valuable?

What I like about this solution is the way it identifies the process and the transformation from data to some analysis between appliances.

What needs improvement?

Process mining doesn't need an improvement as such. However, to get the data from the business process, the backend data, and the log data, from the business and feeding that to process mining is a challenge.

Not everyone in the business can readily provide the kind of information that is to be put into process mining, which is an area that needs to be worked on.

At the moment, process mining is a new product, so the pitfalls or the cons of this tool are yet to be realized. It's too early to say.

What I would expect is a little bit of an AI component included in process mining. That would help the developers or the business analyst get more insights into the other possible options.

The element of features that can be included. At the moment it is data-driven. There should be some improvement in terms of its intelligence to artificial means. That is what I'm looking for from them.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for six months.

I am using the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Process Mining is scalable, providing that it is applied to process mining as an input.

We plan to continue providing this solution to our clients.

How are customer service and technical support?

Support from UiPath is easy. We have not had any challenge in terms of getting their assistance.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. It was very quick.

What about the implementation team?

The installation was done by someone on our IT team.

What other advice do I have?

Definitely, I would recommend it. This is a very good tool. The inputs to this process mining are also very good.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

More detail about Process Mining....

Every enterprise system—like SAP, Salesforce or Oracle—captures event data related to your processes. Process mining reads this data and transforms it into an event log. This event log contains three key pieces of information vital for process mining: a time stamp, a case ID, and an activity.

Using the event log, process mining automatically creates a process graph that lets you understand every detail of your process—including the timing of each step and all the variations in process flows. That’s exactly the level and type of detail you need.

The visualization capabilities built into advanced process mining tools help you zero in on what should be optimized, how to do it, and what the return on your efforts will be. You can easily build and prioritize your automation pipeline or process optimization efforts. You’ll be able to immediately understand the impacts of proposed process changes or automations—including costs saved and effort required.
