SAP S4HANA on AWS Reviews

We use this product to run our business on the cloud. Specifically, we are using the SAP product called S4HANA. We are in the cable industry, so our entire business runs on S4HANA using the APM modules, along with finances.

Firstly, it's very flexible and has interfaces that are interconnected with all the departments and modules, such as sales and distribution, warehouse management, finance, etc. It's an enterprise solution that eliminates the need to work separately for each module or department. Secondly, it promotes a paperless environment when you work with the Fiori app and workbook. You don't need a person physically moving around with papers. And thirdly, there is seamless integration between all the departments, making tasks like customer payments follow-up and vendor print follow-up much easier and less troublesome for the business. The internal integration within departments and integration with third parties is simplified in the system.

If we talk about the manufacturing application system in SAP S4HANA, it's not as user-friendly as it could be. However, if they incorporate the manufacturing issues into the inbuilt APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization), it would make it easier for us to consider and customize. For example, I would be able to directly link all the machines and enable them to go online without much effort or manual labor. That's the kind of customization I'm looking for. So, customization is the key aspect I'm hoping to see.

I've been using it for almost seven to eight years. We are currently using version 409. 

It's quite stable and reliable, around eight out of ten. So it's a rock-solid solution.

I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten. We currently have around 400 to 500 users.

I believe our support is provided by SAP, and we also have an internal technical team. So not much effort is required. We don't need to run around for any troubles. The response is generally okay. Sometimes there are delays, but we understand that it's due to weekends and time differences.

Microsoft Dynamics is more commonly used in small-scale industries and for limited business integration. While it's not bad, SAP S4HANA provides better licensing and overall integration. So we found SAP S4HANA to be a better fit.

There were no complexities. It was a smooth deployment, with no troubles at all. We completed this project in nine months. It was quite simple and straightforward, so there weren't many issues. We just followed the best practices of the system, and then we rolled it out according to our requirements.

We have a separate SAP team and a separate IT team, and we both work together in troubleshooting. Moreover, the maintenance is taken care of by SAP from the cloud, so we don't need an additional support layer. So we are not directly involved in the maintenance. It is handled automatically by the vendor.

The pricing is on the higher end for companies. Especially for smaller companies, they might consider alternatives like Microsoft Dynamics, as it offers more cost-effective solutions.

I would rate it a three, with one being very expensive and ten being cost-effective.

Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. It's mainly because of the pricing.

We were doing a migration from ECC to SAP.

We deployed the database from another team called ECC into an SAP HANA system. The implementation project took about eighteen months. That team handled the technical aspects. My responsibility was configuring the module for the client, ensuring it allowed them to procure materials, make purchases, and process payments.

Their integration of business processes is among the best available. The specific integration and functionality depend on the subscription and the client's needs. SAP S/4HANA can meet various standards and client requirements. They offer human capital management, procurement, sales, distribution, and project management solutions. Each business element can be effectively managed through its modules, making SAP S/4HANA on AWS a versatile choice for any business.

I have been using SAP S4HANA on AWS for one year.

It is quite stable once you implement it well. Once you go live with the green light from AWS, they have good technical support for their engineers. You don't have enough capability as a service provider, and you need to call them. They have several great engineers who can assist you and ensure you don't have a failing project.

It improves your profitability. As you have designed AWS, they can assist you in ensuring that you meet your requirements.

Every time we launch a ticket, they respond immediately and assist us with anything we need. I am quite impressed with their technical support.

We use a tool called ServiceNow to log our tickets. AWS responds promptly and closes the tickets efficiently. We then rate them based on their response and our experience. I was part of the team providing feedback on their service.

Deployment is quite complex. There is a failure in terms of implementation. You didn't do due diligence to ensure that you fully understood the client's requirements and the capability of the system itself.

The database is quite easy to access, making it straightforward to gain insights into areas that need development in terms of business processes and identifying gaps. It is also essential to understand the skills requirements of your workforce. You need to assess where your SAP skills are lacking and where training is needed.

The integration with AWS helps in understanding business requirements effectively. AWS offers modules such as the Analytical Cloud Module, which can be utilized to identify areas of leakage, track revenue sources, and measure productivity and machine efficiency. 

Implementing SAP S4HANA on AWS can be quite expensive, and a proper feasibility study is necessary. However, if you have the financial resources, it significantly assists in improving productivity, scaling your business, and enhancing the profitability and efficiency of your company.

The AI integration is quite perfect. The recent developments we're using include HANA integrated with AI. AWS is emphasizing their analytical cloud, which allows us to draw AWS reports. They also have a Business Warehouse where you can store your information and then analyze it to create useful insights.

Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Currently, I'm working with SAP S4HANA as a technical support, and the technical support has been good. We have numerous customers, and we support a variety of hosting environments, including public and private clouds. Our organization is an SAP Gold Partner, and we have a technical team of over thirty consultants handling both technical and functional aspects of SAP S4HANA. We provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the product, serving a diverse range of customers.

I appreciate the reliability and performance of SAP S4HANA on AWS. It demonstrates high integration and stability, making it a widely used choice in various industries, including manufacturing, such as factories, carmakers, and battery production. It effectively covers a broad spectrum of business areas, which is beneficial.                 

Over the last three to four years, I haven't encountered significant issues with SAP S4HANA. While occasional system bugs are normal in software, the overall experience has been positive. As a business partner, it stands out as a reliable ERP solution.

It is a significant investment, around six hundred thousand dollars, and it involves both a one-time on-premises installation on servers and a cloud subscription with different flavors for SAP S4HANA.

SAP S4HANA is popular for managing operations related to workforce planning and product reporting. We also have a lot of Fiori apps that make the process easier for business users. Additionally, it's well integrated with inventory management, including stock values and material movement. It's been helpful.

Before we implemented SAP S4HANA, we had a lot of issues with inventory reconciliation and reporting errors. However, with SAP S4HANA, the process has become much faster and more efficient. For example, reading the bill of materials and component details has become much quicker due to the underlying CDFX data. We still face challenges with material locks that occur during inventory confirmations and movement.

The most valuable feature of SAP S4HANA is Fiori. It allows users to access information quickly and easily, without having to navigate through unnecessary screens or transactions. Additionally, the ability to retrieve data more efficiently is helpful. Furthermore, the pre-delivered videos and functionalities within the solution allow for easier application building.

It has become very easy to apply and use the latest updates through the web applications and it's device agnostic, so it can be used on any device without any particular requirement.

Businesses are particularly interested in process automation, mobile, and web applications. These are the areas that SAP S4HANA is and should be looking to improve on, especially in terms of streamlining processes and automating certain steps.

It takes about 15 people to maintain the SAP S4HANA application stack and all its related components. We have individual teams who own the business capability. That count is very big and they handle all the CA work.

They use it for all their ERP-related activities, including procurement, finance, sales, and production. All these departments use this solution for their daily activities.

The solution has provided us with reliable availability. We have not faced any availability issues so far.

The most valuable features of SAP S/4HANA on AWS include its availability and performance. We have not faced any latency issues, and AWS provides reliable support.

There are no current improvement areas that I can think of. However, having more data centers in different regions would be beneficial. Currently, AWS has data centers in only a limited number of regions compared to other cloud providers like Azure or Google Cloud.

I have used AWS for two years now.

The stability of the solution is excellent. We haven't seen any problems with stability.

I would rate the scalability of the product as nine or nine and a half out of ten. It is highly scalable, and we have not faced any challenges in this area.

The technical support for SAP S/4HANA on AWS is good. We haven't faced any delays or issues, and the support we received was decent and sufficient.

The pricing of SAP S/4HANA on AWS is between seven to eight, as there are other providers offering lower prices. However, maintaining a certain standard of quality justifies the cost.

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

S4HANA can be used for multiple functions throughout industry from material management to finance and production planning. I'm an SAP technical consultant.

The solution provides good performance and SAP is constantly releasing new features. 

The AI aspect of SAP S4HANA can be improved upon. 

We've been using this product for 17 years. 

Stability has definitely improved over the years. Many customers are migrating to this solution but it requires a change in how business is done, which is too difficult for some companies. Moving involves a lot of digitization, a different GUI. 

The solution is scalable. 

Support for SAP is not that simple but AWS provides good service. Complex problems can take some time to solve, but they usually have a quick response time. 

This is a complex application so the initial setup is not straightforward and requires planning and expertise. Migration time depends on the size of the landscape and the database. It can take a couple of years in an enterprise environment. The main work is around configuring the solution. Deployment usually requires a team of six to eight people. Managed services or maintenance depends on the size. Our in-house consultants are multi-skilled in both SAP and the cloud.

It's important to plan, prepare, and choose a service partner with adequate experience.

SAP S4HANA on AWS can be used for managing financials, sales, inventory, quotes, or supply chains.

The most valuable feature of SAP S4HANA on AWS is that when developed on a new structured system it can be configured.

Whoever developed the current system that my clients have are no longer available and both engineers have retired, the solution's hardware has become a black box and they don't know how works. They spend an awful lot of time figuring out systems. They should reduce the ID expenditures.

If you go to AWS's site they offer training programs that are very good. SAP does not do the same, if SAP could provide some training that would be great.

There are other solutions that can connect with SAP S4HANA on AWS but there is not a lot of information that is provided on what they can do. If they could provide these details it would be helpful.

I have been using SAP S4HANA on AWS for three months.

SAP S4HANA on AWS, but in general, the response from SAP is not great unless you pay for extra services.

SAP S4HANA on AWS is still difficult to configure. It requires professional help. If the client can do it themselves it would be great. The implementation needs to be a lot easier than it is today, that would be great.

To implementation SAP S4HANA on AWS it requires professionals. The solution does not require maintenance. However, you need foresight as to what you want to do in the future because once you set it up some things are hard to change. This aspect can be difficult.

The price of SAP S4HANA on AWS is reasonable, given how much it costs to maintain a scratch-built system. To upgrade the support there is a fee.
