The best features IBM Maximo offers are that it is very simple to deploy on OpenShift using Ansible playbooks. It also has excellent support for integration, is simple to configure, and the asset register is very straightforward. Work management and managing inventory are seamless.

In terms of integration support, I have used preventive maintenance, work generation, accurate work execution planning, tracking actuals, and I can easily integrate with other tools and systems.

IBM Maximo is very well suited to asset lifecycle management and system condition monitoring. The product is user-friendly and effective in managing work orders. The software pricing is much more affordable than that of other EAM systems.

The best features IBM Maximo offers in my experience include workflow, assets tracking, and integration with other apps. The software is very effective in trend analysis and downtime tracking and is well-suited for preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance. Additionally, it has ease of use and seamless integration with other tools such as M-Power, Omino, and IBM Maximo.

The reporting feature is excellent, as it allows for order and job card updates.

The best features IBM Maximo offers, in my opinion, are agility and the fact that we can customize the application to adapt to the business of the client.

The agility and customization features help my clients specifically. For example, we have a client at the airport of Nice in France who had the need to adapt the mobile application of IBM Maximo, and we were able to do it very fast compared to other solutions.

I have seen specific metrics or outcomes from these improvements. For some clients we have up to 89% downtime reduction of equipment that generates over 1.2 million euro growth in revenue because we don't spend that much money on downtime and repair costs.

Flexibility is one of the key components, along with ease of use. The ease of installation depends on how you set your solution up and whether you're going for Windows or Linux. If you know what you're doing, it's fairly simple. However, if you're a new user to the product, I'd rate it a seven. If you understand the product and you've got your design set up, then it's probably looking at about an eight or nine.

The best features IBM Maximo offers are that it is a comprehensive tool where we can get the purchasing of assets or spare parts in the same application. The reports are also very good. Additionally, the barcodes are valuable. We can print barcodes for all things we need. The UI also has a very strong appearance.

We use the reporting feature very often. We have multiple reports, not just one. For each module, there are multiple reports and we can customize the reports based on our needs. For example, for a work order, we can print a report which gives all the details so that it is easy to carry out the steps required to fix the issue. There are also barcodes for items which we can paste on a bin or the item so it can be scanned with a barcode scanner, which is very easy.

IBM Maximo has positively impacted my organization because it reduced a lot of time and has saved a lot of cost.

For example, prior to IBM Maximo, we were doing only paperwork. Now that we have IBM Maximo in place, it is useful for tracking all assets and everything in a single solution with no data loss. Previously, multiple people handled this work, but now very few people do. This has helped us significantly.

The inventory management in IBM Maximo helps enhance our organization's processes and efficiency. As a former maintenance engineer, I faced many problems, such as having the same item encoded or coded in the item list twice. That doesn't happen in IBM Maximo since you have specifications. You can have exact specifications, such as product dimensions, material, and country of manufacturing. These details help avoid mis-selection of items. IBM Maximo also has alternative items that you can attach to each item. If an item balance is zero, you can see the alternatives instead of waiting for the item to arrive.

IBM Maximo has positively impacted our organization by decreasing inventory costs and optimizing engineers' work time. It has made a great impact on management and auditing cycles from scratch. You can see the status of each record anytime and track history. These aspects have improved significantly.

IBM Maximo provides a very mature and structured model for managing assets, work orders, maintenance plans, and spare parts, which is well-suited for complex real-world operational processes. Another best feature is configurability without heavy customization because many business rules, workflows, and forms can be configured through the platform without writing custom code, which helps align the tool with existing operational processes.

IBM Maximo's integration with AI is good, but they are still working on it because AI IBM Maximo has capability. It's an IBM product. IBM Watson is one of the products that is integrated. It's an AI product. IBM has a complete suite that you can use for the integration of any of their tools with the AI. They have the complete AI solution.

IBM Maximo's predictive maintenance is the best. IBM provides the solution that you can actually do the predictive maintenance. You can predict the things better in terms of the assets you have pushed into the system and what are the things that are going to have a life cycle completed or some sort of SLAs completed for the assets. It provides you a complete roadmap for the predictability of your assets.

IBM Maximo has excellent capabilities of reporting. It can provide reporting of any sort of dashboard that the CIOs require or the business team requires. It provides you the best reporting and there are a lot of options available for the reporting as well. At the reporting end, IBM Maximo is very powerful.

There are not many enterprise asset management systems on the market and not many that have the categories that IBM Maximo has. It's a platform that has been here for about 30 years. Currently, the shift to having the ability for customers within the space to move from a legacy structure into a more modern microservice structure that's on the cloud is quite valuable. It gives clients a good journey map to a modern hybrid cloud infrastructure or a little more cloud infrastructure.

Maximo has a powerful audit combination that helps achieve high accuracy. For example, if I need to buy parts for maintenance, it requires procurement and therefore contact with the supplier. All the information is in the system, and that reduces human error in companies where parts are a crucial element and managing stock and costs is key. Maximo also controls maintenance schedules. The solution also has many valuable APIs that are easy to integrate with SAP, Oracle ERP, Scaler and more.

Maximo is a platform where apps can be created to support special processes. It is configurable, where you can add extra fields to screens and to the database.  

With that said, our biggest use of Maximo focuses on work and compliance management, and we have configured Maximo to help us manage our compliance activities. In addition, some pockets of the company utilize Maximo for managing work, failures, inventory, etc. beyond just compliance.
