I get information from different endpoints as an aggregator. From that point, we create different map responses to create different information that we will use in different micro-frontend applications. It has different micro-frontends, similar to Jira with various widgets that receive responses from specific endpoints to display on the dashboard.

I have not been working with AWS technologies for a month, but it was the last cloud platform I worked with.

I worked with Elastic Search and Grafana. It was for tracking purposes, specifically with Kibana.

I primarily used ECS, databases with RDS, S3, common services, queues, and Elastic Search, though Elastic Search is not specifically AWS.

We started working mostly with Microsoft Visual Studio because we had services that we deployed directly on Azure. It was a small amount of microservices that we were publishing. The idea was that we did not want to use Visual Studio proper, rather than Visual Studio Code, for working because it was too heavy for the developers.

I use Azure DevOps because we have everything implemented in .NET by Microsoft, and we are integrated with the collection of the requirements, the .NET pipeline, and directing Azure DevOps for Azure Plus. I am more of a developer, so from an infrastructure point of view, I do not have feedback or experiences to share. I use it more for requirement documentation. For historical reasons, our product was born in .NET.

Application Architect at The Manitowoc Company, Inc.

As an architect, I figure out the best solution based on the problem at hand. It doesn't always have to be a website. Sometimes a hybrid solution is needed – one solution that can be ported to mobile or websites. I want to avoid having two different sets of code that need changes in two places. My goal is to make it as generic as possible.

So, I stay updated with the current .NET Framework and try to come up with a hands-on architecture. I develop those centric modules and provide libraries to our developers, which they add as project references. I call them the organization's libraries. This way, everything follows the same design principles.

For instance, if I create a website using the MVC framework, it has to be consistent. If I need architecture on top of it, I would use screen architecture. Then, there are other architecture and design types. If I need to write a Windows application, I prefer WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) with the MVVM framework.

We pick and choose what's needed based on complexity, data volume, storage, etc. Would the architecture be three-tier, service-oriented, or domain-driven? You break things up into database, API, and front end. Recently, I've introduced gateways for security, which have their own design pattern. I'm trying to move from API to microservices – it's about staying up-to-date and educating the team and managers.

I'm a developer with .NET Framework. Apart from powering the Xamarin platform, I also use .NET for API development for .NET Core, which I deploy on clouds like Azure or AWS. We use .NET Core for every solution, from built-in web apps to REST APIs. I can use .NET Framework to build desktop-based applications using a company called WPF. We use .NET for Unity, a popular gaming engine. It uses .NET as well as C#. In our organization, we just use .NET for Xamarin.

In the past, we employed WPS upon its launch for various purposes, including web services. Currently, our focus has shifted primarily towards web applications. We are leveraging the latest versions, such as .NET 6 and .NET 8, to develop our web services.

We are creating a certain solution. There is a client, the desktop Windows application, that is used within the organization. And behind it, there are certain Windows services, and there are kinds of Windows services that run on a scheduled basis. And there's a logic behind which kind of receives data in the form of files or APIs from different endpoints. So, basically, we are working with multiple external entities, and those entities, in some cases, communicate with us via API. And in some cases, they send us files, which are huge files, via a file gate.

So, .NET, in that sense, we are using after receiving those files, we process them as normal. Then, there is communication with multiple endpoints to actually update certain backend gate systems within the organization. It's a good, big implementation for business purposes of the .NET framework. And the team that I'm a part of is responsible for creating those new requirements that we get from business. We create the solutions for that within this application as part of that application. Also, we are maintaining that application in the production environment, which is being used for running the business.

I work in the supply chain and transportation space. NET Framework is the core part of the technology stack. We had to build everything, including the Windows system.

We could spend more time building the application than building the framework. We've been using it since V1, and .NET has grown and changed multiple times in different directions. It brings more to the table each time, so we need to build less and less. If you think about containerization, you get that from the .NET framework.

Nowadays, Microsoft is trying to fix a few things and build a framework faster than other frameworks. There are a few reasons to choose .NET. However, my supervisor selected this framework for a few scenarios, and our scenario is also quite a good match with the .NET Framework.

Our primary use is to be able to build solutions more quickly and easily that has good flexibility. When you want to build a product, you have to have faith in the nature of its functionality and know you can write your code to run on their core. Another solution is to write software code to run on top of the framework.

Microsoft .NET Framework is a very good infrastructure and we program over that. It handles many tasks for us and it helps us to write our programs very fast and very efficiently. Although it is like a virtual machine, it is still fast — or faster — and it is efficient. Compared to Java Virtual Machine (JVM), I prefer to use the Microsoft .NET Framework because it is built specifically to work with Microsoft Windows. I have grown to trust Microsoft over a long time and we can easily write programs in familiar languages to work with Windows over the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Our development tools, our platform, every solution we've developed, most of them are Microsoft products. So we're using .NET.

Almost all of our enterprise applications are developed within that whether it will be reading those applications, web applications, or a background service, etc. Of course, there's a different case when it comes to our mobile application. We're quite open-minded and like to explore other frameworks due to the fact that there has been a lot of frameworks getting more popular nowadays.

They are generally the customers that use this solution and my company provides services to them. Our work is related to putting the solution together and implementing the whole thing end to end. A lot of companies are moving towards the cloud, so either it's AWS or Azure or Google. Google is not as popular as AWS, followed by Microsoft Azure. And of course there are a lot of products on Microsoft which are also popular like their database and of course the Windows server and things like that.
