I use JumpCloud across a whole bunch of different clients to manage their devices, to manage their users, and to manage their third-party applications through single sign-on.
It's a SaaS product.

In a remote world, it has made my life a lot easier. When people were in the office, you could use Active Directory, but we moved to JumpCloud just before COVID kicked in. It gave us the capability to continue managing machines without them having to check into the office.
I can set a machine up easily. I can send someone a new machine, and they boot it up. I give them a couple of instructions, and then it hands the machine over to me. I can configure the machine remotely by using policies and commands through JumpCloud.
The whole product is great. The device management is amazing. The fact that you can basically set up an entire machine without having the machine in front of you is most valuable.
The single sign-on capabilities are very helpful. If someone leaves the business, at the click of a button, you can literally disable their account for everything.
The capability to get alerts would be great when CPU or RAM is high on an endpoint, or when a disk is failing. It would be great to get an alert rather than having to go looking for it.
It would be handy to have an MDM for Windows devices. It seems to be on their roadmap. They support Windows devices on the platform, but we should be able to wipe the machine and do other similar things through MDM.
I've been using JumpCloud for about eight years. I use it every day.
It has been rock solid for what I need it for. They had a few outages late last year, but they didn't affect my clients or me. So, as far as I'm concerned, it has been rock solid.
It is easy to scale. You just enroll more machines and more users. You get billed monthly on a high point of the number of users that you've got. So, it's fairly flexible.
It is used by small, medium, and large companies. It is suitable for all of them.
It has always been brilliant. Whenever I've had to contact JumpCloud for any reason, they've come back to me straight away. In six years, I've had to contact them three or four times, and each time, the issue was resolved relatively quickly and easily. There has not been too much difficulty with it.
Positive
It depends on what you're using at the moment. From my point of view, when I deployed JumpCloud for one of my clients, it was a case of getting the users into the JumpCloud platform and then enrolling their machines and tying the two together. So, it was relatively straightforward, but I understand that some deployments can be more complicated, such as if you're using Azure AD, etc. They're not impossible, but they just need a bit more planning than if you're using standalone machines.
The number of people required for deployment depends on how many end users you're deploying it to. I've deployed it for a bunch of different companies. Some of the companies had 70 people, and I did it on my own.
It generally takes half an hour per machine. The duration depends on how many machines you've got, what state the machines are in, and whether the machines need updating or anything like that.
It's a SaaS product. It doesn't require any specific maintenance. The agent updates itself on all the machines, and it just keeps everything up to date on its own.
The pricing model changed about 18 months ago. It used to be that you got 10 users free, and then you paid for any user above 10 users. Now, when you go above 10 users, you pay for every user.
It has become a bit more expensive, but it's such a good product. When you take into account Microsoft licenses, if you were to run Active Directory, you'd need a server to put it on, or you would need a couple of servers, backup, etc. It's a no-brainer. JumpCloud is so much easier to manage from my perspective, regardless of the cost increase. It's just brilliant.
There are different tiers of this product, but the base product, called JumpCloud Core, is what I use with most of my clients. It suits us down to the ground.
When we first started looking at JumpCloud, we took a demo on Okta. At the time, JumpCloud did a lot more than Okta did, which was why we went with JumpCloud.
Device management was one of the reasons for going for JumpCloud. Okta was very much for the cloud and single sign-on, and you couldn't manage the devices, whereas JumpCloud actually managed the end-user devices. You could enforce encryption and other similar things, which Okta didn't let you do at the time. It probably does that now because we're six years on, but back then, it didn't.
Don't hesitate. Just do it. It is just fantastic.
I would rate it a nine out of 10. It does everything I need it to. It is a great product. It is not missing too much.
We primarily use the solution for synchronization.
This product has helped us to synchronize all of our accounts in Google Workspace with Microsoft 365.
The single sign-on makes it very easy to access.
It offers great synchronization functionalities.
The solution is stable.
It is scalable.
We have witnessed a pretty good ROI.
Technical support is helpful.
The visual tool and interface must be more fine-tuned. You need to be a bit more experienced to use it as it is not as user-friendly as it could be. We'd like it to be less technical. It needs to be easy to use from the outset.
We'd like better compatibility.
I've been using the solution for one month.
The solution is mostly stable. I'd rate its reliability seven out of ten.
The scalability is good. I'd rate it eight out of ten. You can scale as needed.
We started with a trial and had maybe four or five accounts.
Technical support is very useful. I find them to be helpful and responsive.
Positive
The initial setup was a little bit complex. We didn't have any experience with this particular area of technology. We had to take some time to learn the process.
We had two people that handled the deployment process.
We have witnessed an ROI. I'd rate the ability to achieve ROI at an eight or nine out of ten.
The solution can be a bit expensive. I'd rate it six out of ten. The other options we are looking at now are a little bit more expanse than this solution.
We have begun to look into other options.
I'm using the latest version of the solution, however, I do not know which version number.
For those considering the solution, it's important to look at the documentation. It will help you make good decisions and use all of the features available on the tool. Don't rush through orientation. Take your time and understand everything. Don't be shy to take your time.
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten overall.
The tool is more like a Mobile Device Management solution that helps to manage devices.
I am impressed with the product's remote access which allows admins to control endpoints which is a timesaver.
The product needs to create its own self-service feature which has been requested by all the admins in the community.
I have been using the solution for one year.
The product is almost stable and recovery from outages takes around one to two hours maximum.
I would rate the solution's scalability a six point five out of ten. We have around 250-300 users for the product.
I have reached out to the support more than once.
The product's setup is easy. The device enrollment can be completed in five to ten minutes. However, deployment involved configuring profiles by following documentation, which can take up to a day.
The solution's deployment was done in-house.
I would rate the product an eight out of ten. You can use the solution if admins are looking for one MDM for all endpoints, be it Linux, Windows, Mac, etc. The tool is nice in terms of pricing as well.
JumpCloud enables different kinds of connections and enables employees or subcontractors not within the company to connect to our network securely.
A nice feature called patch management with different kinds of licensing is not included in JumpCloud. I'm also interested in sharing experiences with people in the local market, like engineers.
I have been using JumpCloud for one year.
I rate JumpCloud a nine out of ten for stability.
I'm working with smaller companies with around 28 or 50 users using JumpCloud.
We had contacted JumpCloud's technical support once because of a security issue and on another occasion because of a bug in the system. JumpCloud's technical support was very responsive.
Positive
There were some difficulties in installing JumpCloud. It took several weeks or months for us to deploy the solution.
We implemented the solution in-house.
We have seen an ROI with JumpCloud.
JumpCloud's monthly license costs around $25 for the complete solution. However, the lower versions' costs start from four dollars onwards based on the kind of functionality you choose. I rate JumpCloud a seven out of ten for pricing.
Before choosing JumpCloud, we evaluated the product Slack.
I am using the latest version of JumpCloud. One or two engineers are needed to do the maintenance for JumpCloud. I would recommend JumpCloud to other users.
Overall, I rate JumpCloud an eight out of ten.
The primary use case of JumpCloud is for managing everything on your files, Apple or Android devices, and Windows devices. We are a start-up bank and JumpCloud provides us with an all-in-one directory and solution for the management of our fleet and SaaS applications. I'm an IT specialist and we are customers of JumpCloud.
The product provides great visibility over all transactions including identity, authentications, and directory insight. This has helped us a lot in terms of zero-trust security as everything was widely integrated into the zero-trust platform.
The most valuable feature is the ability of the product to integrate all applications. It also performs on Okta. This is a one-stop solution for having a single sign-on and being able to integrate your Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and then streamlining the onboarding and offboarding. With one click, you can offboard a user and all the integrations are automatically stopped. If there are any SaaS applications that are not single sign-on and are integrated on JumpCloud with SAML authentication, it's automatically integrated. If you are using JumpCloud as your laptop manager and you suspend the account, those devices will automatically cut off. It's a very effective system. In terms of our IT admin, the solution is extensive, presentable, and easy to use.
We initially had some issues with FileBot while locating users' keys; they were not immediately visible and customer support wasn't able to solve the problem. There are quite a lot of things in the MDM that need to be improved and, in general, there is some detail lacking in the solution. JumpCloud offers many solutions within the product but they are not generally well developed. When we tried using their MDM solution, we were not able to completely manage our Apple devices. We eventually switched to Jamf. We were able to import VPNs into the profiles of all remote workers but the solution doesn't provide the ability to have various VPN applications.
I would like to see some additional features in terms of software where we'd be able to pass credentials to the auditor and see all the activities in the account. In terms of conditional access, we need more refined policies and control over conditional access.
I've been using this solution for seven months.
I would say it's a stable solution. It's one-touch, frictionless, prevents unauthorized access and brings a zero-trust security model to your platform. I believe this is very stable. Maintenance was carried out using JumpCloud infrastructure, there's not much involved. It's on a monthly basis for one hour and is straightforward. It didn't affect performance.
JumpCloud is very scalable with the cloud infrastructure. We now have around 50 users, all the executives of the company, HR, marketing, and the sales team.
Technical support was not good in the beginning but it has improved recently.
The deployment is pretty straightforward. You can choose between loading a device or integrating with Workspace. We chose to integrate our Google Workspace environment. I carried out the deployment with my security manager and it took us seven days. We started with a seven-day trial, testing a sandbox environment to make sure it was right for us and then moved straight into it. It was great.
The pricing of JumpCloud is very reasonable. We opted for it because we were a startup with a small budget with 15 employees so we couldn't go with any of the expensive options. We needed a cloud directory and conditional access policies and JumpCloud offered that at a reasonable cost. Licensing costs were around $15 per user per month.
JumpCloud offers different packages depending on your requirements. The cost can be as low as $2 per user per month if you're looking for a simple cloud directory. For each feature, you add another couple of dollars. We opted for the JumpCloud platform, the complete solution, which provides access to all the applications; device management, a single sign-on platform, and the MFAs.
The value of the solution depends upon a company's infrastructure. If you are a startup with a low budget, then go for JumpCloud. If you're a large company, then there are better solutions out there. I learned a lot in terms of managing the MDM fleet where we actually used Jamf and Kandji and Mosyle. These solutions were pretty robust whereas JumpCloud didn't have much variety in the features we used, it was quite limited.
Given the extra features and great price, I rate this solution eight out of 10.
I am making the most of JumpCloud's services and features, as we have opted for one of their highest subscription plans which includes all of the available services. This platform is quite extensive and offers a range of plans to choose from. By utilizing JumpCloud, I am able to manage all of my users through a central account, giving me a single place to view and access all related systems, applications, and services that my users need. This is done by simply logging into my JumpCloud account, which grants me almost unlimited access to all of my desired applications and services.
In order to meet a range of local and international regulations and standards, our organization was required to implement a system to manage various aspects of our operations, including users, devices, and servers. After careful consideration and analysis, it was determined that JumpCloud would be the best solution to help us comply with these requirements.
The most valuable feature of JumpCloud, it provides a convenient and streamlined solution for me to access and manage all of the features I require in one centralized location. This eliminates the need for me to worry about hiring individuals to manage these tasks, as well as eliminating concerns surrounding hardware, updates, and licenses. With JumpCloud, I am able to receive the services I need in a timely and efficient manner, which has significantly reduced my stress and alleviated a great deal of the issues I once faced. This is especially important as I am often bound by laws, regulations, contracts, and customer demands to keep up with various tasks. With JumpCloud, I am able to manage everything I need in one place, giving me visibility and control over aspects that I previously had to manage through multiple systems.
JumpCloud could improve the user interface. While it has certainly come a long way, there is still room for improvement in terms of simplifying and making it more intuitive for the user. In my opinion, the UI/UE could benefit from some modifications to enhance the overall user experience. I have suggested some changes to JumpCloud regarding this matter as I believe that they have the potential to further enhance the platform and make it even more user-friendly. There are certain small features within the system that users may not be familiar with, as they may have previously used different systems with different user interfaces.
If tomorrow JumpCloud were to present a new and improved version, it should include asset management as a new and innovative feature. Currently, JumpCloud only offers device management, which is a great feature. However, there should be the option to manage other physical hardware items, such as screen monitors, keyboards, mouses, etc. These are items that are connected to electricity but do not have any physical software updates. A feature for managing these assets would be extremely beneficial and make my life easier in this new JumpCloud.
If JumpCloud were to introduce asset management as a new feature in their future updates. Although I understand that I cannot physically update the screens, I still need to manage them. This would include keeping track of how many screens I have, whether one of them has stopped working, and if I had to replace it. The ability to keep a record of these things would be extremely beneficial and make managing my assets much easier.
I have been using JumpCloud for over one year.
The stability of JumpCloud is great. JumpCloud has been an extremely reliable solution for our company with 100 percent availability. We have not encountered any issues with its performance and it has consistently been working smoothly. Additionally, it has robust disaster recovery mechanisms in place that ensure its continued functioning even in the event of internet connectivity loss. We are highly satisfied with its performance and the peace of mind it provides us.
We have every one of the one-hundred-plus employees in our company using the solution.
When I reached out to JumpCloud's support with a question, I received a prompt response from their team. Although it turned out to be a user error on my part, they were still able to provide clear explanations and instructions on how to resolve the issue. I appreciate the quick response and helpful guidance I received from their support team.
I was fortunate enough to have access to local support representatives, who were available to me on a personal level through various modes of communication such as email, phone, and WhatsApp. These representatives were consistently prompt in their responses and provided professional and knowledgeable solutions to all of my inquiries, even going above and beyond to provide additional help and consultation. I am extremely pleased with the level of support I received from them.
I rate the support from JumpCloud a ten out of ten.
Positive
The setup of JumpCloud is dependent on various factors, including the systems and features utilized by each individual organization. In our experience, we found the setup to be relatively straightforward and easy to complete, despite the fact that it did take us some time to transition to all the features we desired. However, this delay was not a result of any issues with JumpCloud itself, but rather a resource constraint within our own organization, as we had to allocate a dedicated team member to manage the setup process.
In regards to the initial setup of JumpCloud, it can be deemed a smooth and straightforward process. Our experience with the platform was highly positive, as we encountered no technical difficulties or malfunctions. There were a few existing systems that were not related to JumpCloud and required some organization, however, the connection process to JumpCloud was seamless and rapid.
The setup process for JumpCloud was a slow and gradual one for our company, as we had to first address and resolve any existing issues with other systems before making the transition. Due to our limited resources and lack of organization, we approached the setup in a methodical and cautious manner, adding one system at a time and thoroughly testing each one before proceeding to the next. The process took several months to complete and was completed slowly and easily.
Its implementation took several months. However, the increased time was mostly our fault.
The support provided by JumpCloud was also impressive, as they assisted us with meetings and consultations, along with providing descriptive articles and guides that helped us accomplish all the necessary tasks with ease. We used one person for the implementation of the solution the vendor support team.
We were able to do very low resources from our side. It's working great on an enterprise level.
We have received a return on investment using JumpCloud. I did not need to invest upfront, I paid monthly peruse.
JumpCloud offers several subscription plans as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider. The pricing is based on the number of users and the services that are required, meaning that you only pay for what you consume and don't have to pay for services that you don't need. When compared to other solutions, JumpCloud can actually be more cost-effective, as it eliminates the need to hire a team, purchase hardware, pay for licenses and software, and worry about updates, security, and backups. Thus, it offers a more efficient and cost-effective solution for managing your needs.
One of the major advantages of using JumpCloud is that it provides a centralized system for managing all aspects of our operations. This means that if we need to demonstrate compliance with regulations or standards, we can simply point to JumpCloud as our system of record. All user, device, and server information is maintained in real time within the JumpCloud platform, ensuring that we always have up-to-date information at our fingertips.
Whether it's proving that we're managing all of our endpoints, or demonstrating that a new device has been added to our network, JumpCloud provides us with a one-stop solution that makes it easy to meet our compliance obligations. It eliminates the need for manual processes or paper-based systems and ensures that our information is always accurate and up-to-date.
The reason behind the selection of JumpCloud by my company as the preferred solution was due to its comprehensive and all-encompassing nature. The system provides complete visibility into who is accessing the device and ensures that the operating system is always up to date and in compliance with company policies. This includes the enforcement of antivirus installations, which provides a heightened level of security. The system also facilitates external audits and reviews with ease, as it can easily provide all necessary information and documentation, making it easier for me to be compliant with all requirements. With JumpCloud, I can confidently say that it is not just an excuse but an actual solution that is efficiently managed and provides accurate answers to any inquiries.
I would highly recommend using JumpCloud if you are considering using it for the first time. JumpCloud provides an all-in-one solution that is managed, up-to-date, and constantly improving. With its cutting-edge software and services, you can save a significant amount of time, money, and knowledge. In fact, not using JumpCloud would result in having to invest more resources to achieve a less effective outcome. Simply put, JumpCloud is the optimal choice for anyone looking for a seamless and efficient solution.
JumpCloud has consistently offered exceptional solutions and services that are highly efficient and effective. Although it may not be perfect in every aspect, it operates exceptionally well and I am pleased with its performance.
I rate JumpCloud a nine out of ten.
JumpCloud is a zero-trust network access solution. We are focused principally on the public health sector. We use the solution in conjunction with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other cloud providers.
We use JumpCloud to manage our teams' access with a single sign-on and by applying policies to their devices. This is a solution that helps integrate one with the other.
The most valuable features of JumpCloud are flexibility, policy management for devices, and device patch management. For example, we can limit access to devices only in Chile or send a number of commands to the devices to manage them.
JumpCloud could improve the compatibility with other devices and operating systems. For example, the solution only works well with Mac and some Linux devices. It does not work for mobile devices, such as Android.
In the next release, the solution could be more integrations with other solutions without the need for heavy configurations.
I have been using JumpCloud for approximately one year.
JumpCloud is stable.
The scalable of JumpCloud is very good.
I have not had the need to contact the support. The support material online is very useful. They have an online forum that is helpful that I have used if I need help.
The initial setup of JumpCloud is easy and flexible. There are tutorial videos available to teach how to deploy.
I rate JumpCloud a nine out of ten.
