Turbonomic has allowed us to hold off on turning up additional hypervisors by allowing us to better use existing hardware.

Training was a bit disjointed at first, but the second session was improved.

Yes, due to some versioning issues in our hosting environment, but support quickly tracked down the cause and supplied a fix.

We have not experienced any stability issues since install.

As I said, Turbonomics has had immediate effect with both the day to day experience of our users by actively controlling resource congestion, and ensuring we could utilize the current resources to the full amount.

The top level view of my overall infrastructure's health has been a great tool. Also the ability to view where we can benefit from additional purchases of equipment and such has been a big help.

Overall, Turbonomic has helped us be more efficient with the equipment we have.

I am not a giant fan of the new interface. I still use the older interface.

No. We researched several solutions and in the end chose VMTurbo, now Turbonomic.

Initial install was extremely simple.

Action mode policy which allows us to manage our environments on a more proactive front.

We are a very small staff, and this gives us a peace of mind that our servers will run optimally.

Wish the storage move accounts for possible VMware snapshots that existed on some host.

No, we had just relied on the the build in vCenter server tools.

Although VMTurbo assisted with the install, is was very straightforward. The same goes for the upgrade process.

Yes, we did evaluate other products but to be honest, I cannot recall at this time.

The product has worked great. It has become a set and forget tool for us which is a good thing.

Turbonomic's realtime environmental monitoring and aggregated dashboard have been instrumental in expansion decision making for our infrastructure.

Based off it's metrics, we were not only able to expand our storage environment but fine tune our environment further in order to achieve maximum performance.

Yes, there were a few different solutions in place before Turbonomic. After implementation of Turbonomic the switch was easy as it had every metric and report I needed from a director's standpoint and didn't need to jump systems to make it work.

It was very straightforward. It's own ISO made it super simple.

Easy VM deployment - set an IP, set a password, give login credentials to clusters. Boom, done.

I have not calculated the time saved but would guess its roughly 5-7 hours a week.

One of the most valuable tools we encountered with Turbonomic was not even the automation tool we bought it for, but the sizing tool.  We used it when we did our hardware refresh and it was able to tell us how many servers we would need based on our environment.  It helped us save a lot of money and not overbuy.

The balancing features on Turbonomic help keep our environment running fast and more efficiently over even DRS and sDRS.  In fact one the best performance features is the rightsizing tool, to either increase or decrease sizes of specific VM's.  Again this can save money, but also allows our clusters to perform much more reliably with little to no CPU Ready.

I would like to see more integration with 3rd parties.  For example, I would like to be able to provision more storage from Turbonomic, not just have it tell me I need more.

I've used this solution for about 3 years now.

Easiest deployment ever, install it, give it an IP, point it to vCenter and you're done.

Automation options for moving and resizing VMs as necessary have been crucial for our environment's performance.

Automating move and resize tasks have allowed our team to spend less time micro-managing VMs and more time completing projects.

Alert emails could be more comprehensive. The name kind of drives me crazy...It's difficult to say "Turbonomic" in conversation and have someone take you seriously.

VCOPS by vmware. Switched because Vmturbo was able to give us the reporting, planning, and migrations more easily and at a huge savings.

The initial setup was straightforward. You deploy an appliance, give it the normal basic configs (IP, Subnet, Name) then wait a few hours and you start having data to act on.

ROI was 3 months. Could have been less if we would have acted on the recommendations earlier.
