BackupAssist Valuable Features

I get my reports. It is generally very reliable. Unless there is a major change, it doesn't stop backing up. I've got my server room set up with everything connected to the same power, and I never have power issues or failures of backups because a sub-site has gone off. Off-site, because it takes a bit longer to run, it might encounter power issues because we do suffer from power cuts here, but generally, it is very good.

I also like the ransomware checks that it does.

The most valuable features of BackupAssist are ease of use, configure is simple, and more importantly, ease of recovery. If you needed to do a complete system recovery or another recovery it is straightforward.

What you want is software that can be relied upon at the moment when a server goes down, you can backup simply and reliably, BackupAssist fulfilled this criterion. Whereas the others were more complicated and I just dismissed them as options.

BackupAssist has a feature that allows backups of local drives to a network drive. Additionally, I can set up the solution to backup to a cloud service, such as Amazon Web Services or Wasabi, which is very good.

I have found they come out with updates periodically and new products for the needs of customers. They are an evolving company that releases new features. This is very good because it prevents them from becoming stagnant.

I find BackupAssist very convenient to work on and I really like its user interface. I have found that the backups are usually very successful. Whenever they are not, it will give you a link to a knowledgebase so that you can try to troubleshoot what the problem is. It's actually quite neat and functional.

The most valuable aspect of the solution is that I can use several tapes. I can do backups on several drives. I can configure it to various drives on different days and I get alerts telling me when backups are done.

We can configure the notifications themselves so that the right people get the notifications. This is very helpful. It allows key stakeholders to know if backups have happened and to remind each other to check the backups if something is not right.
