We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"For me, the best feature of Omada Identity is its web interface because it's really easy for users to understand.""The identity lifecycle support is definitely valuable because we are a complex organization, and there is a lot of onboarding, movement, and offboarding in our organization. We have 31,000 users, and there are a lot of users who are constantly onboarding, offboarding, and moving. So, we need to make sure that these activities are supported. In old times, we used to do everything manually. Everyone was onboarded, offboarded, or moved manually. So, from a business point of view and an economics point of view, identity lifecycle is most valuable. From a security point of view, access review is the most important feature for us.""I appreciate all the support we receive from Omada.""The key benefit of Omada Identity is maintaining complete control.""You can make resources. You can import them from Azure or Active Directory and put them in an application. For example, if there is an application that uses a lot of Active Directory groups, you can make the groups available for people. If they need to access that application, you can tell them the resource groups you have for that application. People can do everything by themselves. They do not need anybody else. They can just go to the Omada portal, and they can do it all by themselves. That is terrific.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""The customer success and support teams have been crucial.""Surveying is a valuable feature because it allows us to import data and see who has access to what data, for example."

"Governance.""Streamlines user access, consolidates applications.""Connector Xpress and Policy Xpress and the new interface.""What I found most valuable in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration is its simple GUI. It's also easy to deploy compared to other products. With other products, you have to install the Windows version inside the Windows machine on all units, but with Symantec Identity Governance and Administration, it can work offline, so the solution is a little bit easier than other systems.""I've used it to manage users, create and update, delete users, change passwords, and assign and change rules.""Self-registration and self-service password management are valuable features. The role modeling feature is also very useful. It allows you to model your enterprise role.""Out-of-the-box the product has a lot of opportunity for configuration and sophisticated identity management capability.""The solution is easy to scale."

"Some of the valuable features of the solution are the easy integration with processes, such as Single Sign-On. Overall WSO2 is straightforward and does not need customization.""The product provides easy integration between API manager and IT server components.""I would rate the solution's stability eight or nine out of ten.""The single sign-on procedure itself, as well as the ability to connect to external user sources such as Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP servers, are the solution's most valuable features.""Comprehensive ecosystem.""It's very easy to implement everything.""The keystore feature has been most valuable for us."

Cons
"Functionality and usability could be improved.""I am not working with the product, but they have this BI tool for role-based mining, and I think that should be included in the core product rather than an add-on.""Omada Identity has two main issues that need to be solved or improved the most. One is its setup or installation process because it's complex and cumbersome. I'm talking about the process for on-premises deployment because I've never tried the cloud version of Omada Identity. Setting up the cloud version should be much easier. The second area for improvement in Omada Identity is that it's piggybacking on Microsoft's complex way of having all kinds of add-ons, extensions, or setups, whether small or large, such as the new SQL Server, and it's cumbersome to make sure that everything works. Omada Identity is a complex solution and could still be improved.""They need to improve the cost for small companies.""It is not possible to customize reports on Omada Identity.""Omada's performance could be better because we had some latency issues. Still, it's difficult to say how much of that is due to Omada versus the resources used by our other vendors in our on-prem environment. Considering the resources we have invested into making it run well, it's slightly slower than we would expect.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""If you find an error and you need it fixed, you have to upgrade. It's not like they say, "Okay, we'll fix this problem for you." You have to upgrade. The last time we upgraded, because there was an error in a previous version, we had to pay 150,000 Danish Krone (about $24,000 at the time of this review) to upgrade our systems... That means that we have to pay to get errors fixed that Omada has made in programming the system. I hope they change this way of looking at things."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"They should easier and better integration with other software.""I find the API boring. I also faced issues while integrating with CA SSO.""The directory has room for improvement. Also, the dashboards and, in particular, the KPI dashboard that shows the current user’s information needs reworking.""The solution is not the best or the fastest available.""There are times that it takes too long to generate reports and to run the assessment tools to collect the information.""Symantec is only on-premises, not on the cloud.""Integration capabilities with other solutions and formats, including JSON, could be improved.""Identity Manager has a lack of entitlement support, unlike other products that I have worked with."

More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Cons →

"The solution could improve its development from a user perspective.""I found the initial setup to be very complex.""Sometimes working with the code is difficult because I search for documentation about the code and how to work with the code, which is where I believe they should improve, by providing some documentation on how to work with the code.""This solution does not have BPM workflows already integrated, we had to integrate the BPM module externally. They do not provide full-featured auditing and certification modules out of the box.""The high availability architecture has to be improved.""This solution requires extensive knowledge to be used effectively as certain areas of its use are not user friendly.""There needs to be a good support model and easy-to-understand documentation."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
  • "The price is flexible for our existing customers."
  • More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We have to take their support, but that is a minimal charge if I'm comparing it to other identity managers."
  • "I have found the solutions license is priced competitively compared to others."
  • "At this time we are working with the open-source version."
  • "They should bring in some good pricing models to host the marketplace."
