"Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"It is stable and scalable."
"Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR."
"The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."
"The most useful features are the antivirus, anti-spyware, and the firewall feature. It also provides application control and Host Integrity, which is a very unique feature."
"Symantec End-User Endpoint Security is scalable."
"Symantec has cloud-based endpoint protection, so whether a user is off the network or on the network, the endpoint will be protected by the cloud."
"I like the endpoint detection and response. That's the best feature. I also like the fact that we don't need to use a file on the computer, whereas some anti-malware solutions work with a file on the endpoint. Symantec is a very good option compared to solutions from other vendors."
"The single-pane management is the solution's most valuable feature. It makes administrative control very easy."
"The firewall, malware, and anti-virus protection have earned its keep in times past by catching the unexpected."
"Protection from viruses, malware, Trojans, and malicious files is most valuable. It is also good in terms of application control. I can control the type of external media that can be connected with endpoint devices and protect them from malicious files and devices such as USB."
"The IPS function (with no firewall needed to be installed in the SEP client) is quite good."
"Trend Micro Apex One has good features and is lightweight."
"The ADR capability of Trend Micro has helped us in investigating the root cause for any threat that is hunting by providing us with good visibility of the timeline and activity of the threat."
"The most valuable feature is that it's normal, and not for a specific server."
"The nano protection and device control are great."
"The most valuable features are the vulnerability protection and virtual patching."
"The solution offers good community support."
"The DDAN and the sand boxing features are very good and accurate."
"Its reporting and dashboard are valuable. Its dashboard is easy to use."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"The solution is not stable."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection."
"To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location."
"Symantec isn't good in terms of updating customers about updates. You'd normally have to search it out. Sometimes, the update process for the administration and management console can be a bit intimidating, and it can be quite inconvenient to get the updates. That's because when you have to do the update, you have to update the management console, and then you need to update the clients. Their application that's installed on desktops and servers needs to go hand in hand with the management console. Sometimes, it's a bit unwieldy to see that process through."
"SONAR could be improved. The false/positive rate is a little high."
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see more to do with malware, encryption technology, and controlling mobile devices."
"Symantec's application security module needs some improvement. You need to create a lot of fingerprints for application security. For instance, let's say I have different brands of ATMs in my environment, like Wincor and NCR. I use GRG to deploy an application control to whitelist some applications. I have to get the exact image of the different models of ATMs. When I tested in the past, some machines would not connect to the server without that."
"The agent shouldn't use up so many resources at the endpoint when scanning and protecting."
"It seems that its not working very well with VMWare."
"Symantec End-point production doesn't support the EDR function."
"The solution could improve by adding encryption. If it had encryption along with antivirus it would be better."
"The policies tend to be a bit more complex to set up, so we do need some expertise in setting up the policies."
"Whether the license is monthly or annual depends on the deal of the company."
"The solution could improve the Linux XDR functionality. It is not mature. There could be some improvement in the area of the use cases. For example, improvement is needed in OTN."
"I would suggest making the on-prem and cloud versions easier to manage via Apex One Central, a centralized management platform for customers and agents."
"The console can be better in terms of management and viewing the hierarchy of devices. Currently, setting up the hierarchy OU-wise is a bit cumbersome. It can be made a bit easier. If that can be more user-friendly and easier to manage, it would be great."
"Recently, we had a malware attack and considered looking at other cloud solutions because of this breach."
"The alert, or warning function, needs to be improved."
"Trend Micro's encryption is not up to the mark. We tried their encryption product, but we did not like it. Encryption was difficult to manage."
