We performed a comparison between Kaseya VSA and Microsoft Configuration Manager based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Patch Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Being able to connect to client computers without them necessarily needing to be there and being able to put in the patches and manage different information systems is valuable."
"The backup tool is highly useful, offering a fast and efficient way to retrieve and restore data."
"As a small IT shop, the weird feature that the VSA has that I have not found anywhere else is they have these little colored dots that tell you the status of the machine. Is it offline and powered up? Is it actively being used? Is it idle? A lot of our clients ask us to do things for them, but, of course, they don't really want us to be underfoot. So we always look for, "Hey, there's an idle machine. We can work on that one now." And to say it makes it easy, we can do that at a glance. In any other tool we've looked at, you have to go several layers deep to see if the machine is in use, and you could spend your entire day just trying to find a machine that was idle, whereas, with Kaseya VSA, you can tell at a glance."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ability to offer control remotely to its users and provide patching capabilities to users."
"The ease of access and ease of use was great."
"We can schedule the patching of the endpoints."
"This solution is our RMM tool and we love the deployment features."
"Kesaya is highly configurable."
"It works well for the endpoints for the customer I'm consulting. It has a bunch of knobs, and you can tune it to do lots of things."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is patch management."
"There is a faster time to rollout. If we get a new PC, it can be ready for productivity right away."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is the software deployment. Additionally, Microsoft integrates most of the other solutions well with one another."
"This solution captures all the devices in our infrastructure."
"With the right administrator, application deployment can do wonders."
"This solution helps us by automating the patching of our system."
"The product is very stable compared to older versions."
"The product's user interface is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"I would like to see improved virtual infrastructure management."
"The way it is laid out can be improved. If it could be a little more intuitive, it might be a little bit easier. Sometimes, it is hard to find features because they're called something weird, or they're in an interesting location that you wouldn't have thought that they'd be in."
"The reporting feature in Kaseya VSA could improve by being more user-friendly. The reporting overview is too wordy or the representation can be better."
"The solution is hard to use at first until you understand how it works."
"The stability of the solution is good but it can be improved."
"We actually upgraded the solution due to the fact that we needed the support for Apple devices. We haven't had a chance to test that part of the product just yet, however, that was our biggest criticism of the product prior to this most recent update."
"The UI could be streamlined. The menu has 18 options, but we only use three. It has a lot of redundant stuff. Software management, software deployment, patch management, etc., all do the same thing, but they're different programs and licenses."
"They need to improve the support for the Mac operating system."
"Built in PowerShell cmdlets would be a nice feature because managing clients remotely can be a pain without knowing the WMI calls to run."
"It would be of benefit if Configuration Manager could be connected/integrated with multiple Microsoft Intune subscriptions rather than just one (the current limit)."
"The main thing is that SCCM has to become an appliance instead of a server. When I say appliance, it has to come preconfigured so that it is drop-shipped into the enterprise and then you activate the feature sets that you want. It should pull down all the latest binaries. Once that is all there, it should have a discovery tool which goes out and discovers the assets within an enterprise. If the server, workstation, and applications are all coming from the same vendor, why not have the vendor do this work for us and automate it as much as it possibly can?"
"I currently need to increase my compliance level in the patching processes which this solution could improve on."
"The tool's deployment is complex and depends on the architecture you want to implement."
"I would like to see more automation."
"As far as load balancing across, they don't have that support yet, so that you can actually build multiple primaries and have it load balance across. They don't have any of that functionality yet. That would be a nice feature, to scale that way."
