Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable.""The benefits of Omada Identity include a holistic way of viewing access, the ability to give people access, and automation.""The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""What I like most is that we can always find a solution, and we can also find the cause when something goes wrong. I like that the most because everything is in one way or another traceable. That is what I like most. I like its reliability.""You can make resources. You can import them from Azure or Active Directory and put them in an application. For example, if there is an application that uses a lot of Active Directory groups, you can make the groups available for people. If they need to access that application, you can tell them the resource groups you have for that application. People can do everything by themselves. They do not need anybody else. They can just go to the Omada portal, and they can do it all by themselves. That is terrific.""The Governance and self-service that can be set up so you can use them yourself to work in the system are the most valuable features. End users can be enabled to help themselves.""Its best feature is definitely the process design. It is quite easy and straightforward to design a process."

"I found all of them quite valuable, especially the identity manager, governance, and identity portal. All the features are helpful.""You can spin up IDM or Identity Suite in a few hours and it is ready to use.""Nowadays it is offered as a Virtual Appliance, and that saves considerable time for installing and controlling it.""The most valuable feature is the speed of implementation. Now with the Virtual Appliance, it's much faster. In the past, to implement this kind of solution, it would take so many weeks. Now, it takes one day, or minutes, and we have the deployment ready.""The most valuable feature is the re-certification campaign capabilities.""With the Virtual Appliance, combined with CA Identity Manager and GovernanceMinder as one solution, it eliminates having multiple infrastructure requirements, multiple products, and gives a holistic view of the access granting."

"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""I believe FortiToken is the simplest to implement.""The solution is simple and similar to Google Authenticator. It follows time-based authentication. We use it for hardware and software in one environment. The tool offers simple and fast authentication for SSL.""The product provides secure access to our internal server.""FortiToken is available in a soft or hard token factor, so there's some flexibility in that. Beyond that, I would say it is a stable solution that has worked for us.""The deployment is quick and simple.""We like the mobile FortiToken.""I appreciate that it provides comprehensive security. It is tailored to this specific purpose, and it excels in fulfilling this purpose."

Cons
"They need to improve the cost for small companies.""If you're running Omada on a cloud service, you may have some issues deploying the newest release. Sometimes, the latest release doesn't adapt to the processes we have already installed. Identity Access Management is a critical system for our organization, and we need to ensure that everyone has the same access as they did before the release.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""The Omada Identity SaaS version doesn't provide all the features Omada Identity on-premise provides.""The Omada support response time has room for improvement.""I would like to search on date fields, which is not possible now.""The UI design needs improvement. One or two years ago, Omada changed its user interface to simplify, but the simplification has not really kicked in.""If I had to name one thing, it would be the user interface (UI)."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"If there was a seamless integration between portal and IdentityMinder, then that would help a bit.""I would like synchronization when a mapping is added between end points. Currently, the synchronization is not complete. It would be great if this synchronization happened immediately.""The connectors for the identity and governance part could use some improvement, by way of adding more areas. They need more development to cover more target applications.""The documentation can be improved because sometimes we have some technical issues that were not documented and we have to rely on support to solve them. Then there are issues around getting the architecture, but it's challenging to get the architecture."

More CA Identity Suite [EOL] Cons →

"We can only use the tool with the FortiToken Mobile app.""The solution could introduce a mobile application instead of a physical product.""Fortinet FortiToken could be lower for some markets.""The solution comes with two firewalls as a bundle. In that bundle, most of the individual users can be assigned to mobile users. However, in cases of technical difficulties, users may accidentally remove the mobile application. In normal scenarios, we get back to the activation key and assign it again.""Configuration can be confusing due to the lack of community and context-sensitive help. We've had to rely on technical support, which slows down the setup process.""The tool could be a little cheaper.""You need your mobile just to enroll the tokens, and sometimes, it's difficult to use for someone who is not knowledgeable""Its reporting should be better. The reporting feature is missing. I don't have any reporting of who has done what, what has failed, and what didn't work."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

    Information Not Available
  • "It is included as part of our firewall license."
  • "Overall, it's cheaper than other solutions. Of course, we evaluated it five years back, and I haven't checked to see its current market position, but one reason we adopted FortiToken is its lower cost of ownership relative to other solutions we evaluated."
  • "I would rate the pricing as an eight out of ten. We purchased the solution at a reasonable price in 2019."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is the cheapest, and ten is the highest, I rate the pricing an eight."
  • "The solution’s price is good."
  • "Fortinet FortiToken is not an expensive solution."
  • "The pricing is not very high, so I'd rate it around six out of ten, where one is high and ten is low."
  • "From an Indian perspective, it's definitely costlier."

This user experience can dramatically simplify processes such as user access requests and access certifications, resulting in improved productivity and user satisfaction. In addition, the CA Identity Suite performs risk analysis and certification and enables remediation actions in real-time during the access provisioning steps, thereby improving audit performance and risk posture with preventive policy enforcement.

While providing these business and governance-centric capabilities for business users, the CA Identity Suite also delivers core enterprise-grade identity management and governance capabilities, including broad provisioning support for on-premise and cloud apps, extensibility and flexibility to integrate with other IT systems and consumer-grade scale. This means organizations are not forced to choose between usability and performance. With the CA Identity Suite, they can have both.

As we've seen, passwords alone don't keep unwanted guests out of your network. Password-only authentication has led to security breaches, malware infections, and policy violations. With two-factor authentication, a password is used along with a security token and authentication server to provide far better security.  Authorized employees can remotely access company resources safely using a variety of devices, ranging from lpatops to mobile phones.
