• The option for self-service key recovery for the user or administrator is simplistic.

As part of security consulting, different projects and clients require different levels of security. For the last few years, I used Sophos high security routers. I have come to find the full disk encryption and enterprise management options in SafeGuard to rank very well.

I do not see very many downfalls, but I would recommend adding a few different encryption algorithms. For example, adding Triple DES, Blowfish, and Twofish, would only provide added value to the users. They could then decide how to secure the data they are using the product for.

We have been using this solution for three years.

No deployment problems were encountered in any respect. Even using it on an Android phone was seamless.

There were no stability issues.

From single, high net worth people to a 430 person law firm, I have yet to hear a concern with scalability.

Customer service is very good. There have been no issues.

The two times tech support was needed, we received great service.

We did not try other solutions

It was easy to setup.

We did the implementation in-house.

Compared to the potential loss if a breach occurred, the little higher investment is worth protecting data.

Pricing is a little more than similar products. However, the name and bullet proof security offered is superior once you get into the fine details of what the product offers.

We evaluated BitLocker and Symantec PGP.

For high security routers, whole disk security, and enterprise management, Sophos is and will continue to remain a leader.

It is being used as a firewall.

The solution can be easily connected and it is very secure. 

Sophos should conduct some seminars to teach people how to use it and also to inform the users about what they should do in case of problems.

I have been using Sophos SafeGuard for three years.

I rate the stability a nine out of ten. 

It is a scalable solution. 150 people are using the solution across three locations. Another fifty users will be increased in the next one or two years.

The initial setup is straightforward and the deployment takes very little time. One or two staff members are required for regular monitoring and checking of the configurations. 

The solution was deployed in-house. 

The pricing is good and now they offer three-year and five-year plans. After that, if one likes the service, they can choose the lifetime service. 

I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten. 

I use this solution as an endpoint protection technology. It is primarily used to protect endpoints.

The solution is valuable as it offers protection against ransomware. It has a feature that allows only three files to be encrypted by ransomware before it automatically revokes the process. What's beneficial is having one central console to manage file encryption and disk encryption, which are part of the Safeguard product. I can manage both features within one console and create templates to apply to other customers.

I cannot think of any improvements right now. 

I have been using this solution for about five years.

I would rate the stability as a nine out of ten. I have never had any issues with this feature. Although sometimes some features of the endpoint protection have services that do not run, Safeguard is very stable.

I'm unsure what scalability issues could arise with this solution since it involves BitLocker and disk encryption, which do not present much room for scalability.

I would rate the customer service as a ten out of ten. I work very closely with Sophos. If I have a severe problem, the availability and response time are excellent. Even in urgent situations like dealing with the fire department, I received help within about 20 minutes, where a Sophos technician assisted us.

I would initially rate the setup process as an eight to ten out of ten. The setup ultimately turns out to be perfect.

I cannot compare prices precisely, so I would give it a five out of ten rating. I am uncertain. Sophos is slightly more expensive than some other vendors. A bundle might be an option for cost-conscious customers, similar to the Sophos Firewall licenses. Bundling could be a strategy to attract more customers.

My overall rating of the solution is ten out of ten.
