Centralized monitoring and automation have made things easier for me because we can track all the file transfer failures and user activity from one dashboard, which makes troubleshooting and compliance reporting easier. The automation built-in is also really useful because it reduced the need for custom scripting and made recurring transfer workflows much easier to manage.

GoAnywhere MFT could be improved in that the UI could be more modern and some advanced workflow configurations and troubleshooting steps could be made easier for administrators.

Scalability is good overall with GoAnywhere MFT, but performance tuning and monitoring could be more streamlined in very large environments with high transfer volumes.

I am still trying to figure out my use cases for GoAnywhere MFT as I am still learning how to use it and determining the best way to utilize the software.

What I can suggest right now about GoAnywhere MFT is the integration of AI for chat support, as I am still trying to find my way around the app. I would appreciate seeing an AI assistant for GoAnywhere MFT. For a first-time user, instead of struggling to learn how to use it independently, you could ask, 'GoAnywhere MFT bot, can you help me with this? Can you help me with that? How do I do this? How do I do that?' Just quick, on-the-spot assistance.

I feel everything that is there is sufficient. I do not think there is a need to add anything. People always say there is always room for improvement, but for me, it is enough, so it does not appear that everything is clashing. I feel there is nothing to improve right now. However, as time progresses, perhaps because of innovation and new technology, they will find new things to implement. The only thing I believe they should implement is what I mentioned about the assistant, where users can ask questions and get answers immediately.

I started using GoAnywhere MFT about a week ago, having seen the review, so I just registered for the review. It has not been more than a week since I began using it.

I have not seen any lagging, crashing, downtime, or any sort of instability with GoAnywhere MFT. By now I would have complained about that.

The user interface is fine. I do not know if they have integrated any chat support or chatbot where you can ask quick questions and get answers within 24 hours. For me, the user interface is understandable; it is not something that required extensive effort to use. I am the type of person that, if I have an issue, I search on YouTube or Google or ask ChatGPT, 'How do I understand this better?' It is not difficult for me, but I feel a 24-hour chatbot would be beneficial instead of using external resources.

The initial installation for GoAnywhere MFT was easy for me because I could use YouTube, so it was straightforward to follow and implement. However, not every first-time user might find it easy. For me, it was not so difficult.

Regarding GoAnywhere MFT's pricing, I think it is quite affordable since it was subscribed for me by my boss.

The main reason behind getting GoAnywhere MFT was that it was recommended to me by my boss, so I am still trying to learn how to use it. It is software that was recommended for me to learn; to learn how to use, find out the details of the whole software, how it works, and implement it because I work as a full-stack developer.

On a scale from one to ten, with ten being the highest, I rate GoAnywhere MFT a seven. I am just a user of GoAnywhere MFT; I do not have any partnerships with them. I have no problem if the GoAnywhere MFT team wants to contact me if they have any questions about this review. I am always available and okay with being a reference for GoAnywhere MFT, which allows their marketing department to contact me later.

We mainly use GoAnywhere MFT to transfer our files over the cloud in a more secure manner. That is our primary purpose with GoAnywhere MFT. The best advantage of GoAnywhere MFT is that the files we transfer or share are encrypted, so data safety is also one of the main factors that we depend on GoAnywhere MFT for.

My favorite feature of GoAnywhere MFT is the encryption that is provided, which is very appreciable. In terms of other favorite features, I would say the triggers and the scheduling option that it provides. Also, there's a service called the FileCatalyst service in GoAnywhere MFT that allows us to send larger files in a much quicker fashion, approximately five or six times quicker than a regular file transfer, so that is also one of the cool features about GoAnywhere MFT.

We immediately saw the benefits of GoAnywhere MFT because it is a cloud-based solution and that is where we were lacking in transferring data in a more secure manner. We were struggling with that, so with GoAnywhere MFT, we were able to resolve this immediately.

The cloud connectivity of GoAnywhere MFT to connect to different applications such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon, or Google Cloud could improve, as it's a little bit patchy right now. They do provide it, which is very good, but it's a little bit patchy. Apart from that, I don't think there's anything else that they can improve.

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for about a year and a half.

The initial deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was pretty straightforward and pretty easy. Since this is a cloud solution, we just had to create logins and proceed from there, so it wasn't difficult.

The GoAnywhere MFT platform hasn't crashed or experienced any issues so far; it's pretty smooth. This being a cloud solution for us depends on our internet connectivity, so it is quite stable. Only the connection with other applications that I mentioned earlier could improve, but apart from that, it's pretty stable.

In terms of scalability, it's quite scalable as more and more data we keep on adding. The size of the files that we continue to transfer via GoAnywhere MFT has increased from the day we started to now.

I have contacted the customer support of GoAnywhere MFT quite a few times.

The customer support team is very kind and polite. They're knowledgeable, as I go to them with many queries and doubts, and they don't hesitate to provide solutions. They are quick, with a response time within six to 12 hours, which is pretty good.

It provides a central space for managing all file transfer activities. We seamlessly integrate it with our other software that we use, which ensures the security and efficiency of data movement. 

In my role as a customer care manager, we deal with many customers, so sometimes we request sensitive documents. Instead of using email, which is not as protected as GoAnywhere MFT, we have set up a portal where they can share the document. As a manager, I have to direct a specific team to deal with that document, which prevents the leakage of sensitive customer information.

Handling file transfers is efficient and accurate, which enhances our business processes by minimizing human error and improving accuracy, ultimately reducing costs. Additionally, it provides a significant level of automation, allowing us to manage numerous tasks automatically. Without this automation in place, we would need to handle these tasks manually, which increases the risk of errors.

Moreover, this automation saves us time, enabling us to concentrate on other important tasks. For example, in my department, where I manage numerous customers, eliminating the need for manual task execution allows us to focus more effectively on customer support. It has saved us about 80% of time.

It facilitates better collaboration by ensuring that files are shared securely and efficiently among our team members, especially when dealing with large files and folder transfers. There is always seamless workflow automation across all departments.

The automation capabilities are amazing. They help to reduce manual transfer tasks and handle the daily repetitive tasks that we do. It also ensures overall efficiency.

The solution offers file encryption, which greatly keeps the data safe whether in transit or at rest. The level of customization that the tool offers is unmatched. 

Everything works fine, but I feel that the user interface can be improved, especially the layout. They can make the dashboards more customizable. Other than that, I don't have anything. The automations are amazing, and the other features flow effortlessly.

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for almost five years, and it has been working very well so far.

I would rate the stability of the solution as nine out of ten. It has robust stability because we have never faced any downtime. Even if there is a challenge, the customer support offers responsive, faster responses, so we have never faced any major challenges.

The scalability is ten out of ten because it works effectively even with many users, large files, and a lot of data moving at once. For the past five years, the tool has kept growing as our business has grown.

It was one of the quickest and easiest products to get started with. In under 30 minutes, we were able to log into the product. Within three weeks, we fully understood all the features and were able to fully use them. The ease of use and great support helped significantly in setting up these tools.

There was a team in my organization that purchased the product directly. We had a short training, which was very smooth. We were able to use the tool quickly and fully because the support was amazing.

Maintenance is very low and hassle-free with minimal costs because it is super easy, and they offer training to get started. As they introduce new features, there is always training to understand that feature.

It has been incredibly helpful in everything, especially by enhancing our security as an organization. By using encryption and secure protocols, we are able to protect our clients' data, especially when transferring or when it is at rest.

It has flexible and affordable pricing because of custom quotes. The prices depend on the modules one needs and the volume of data being transferred. Overall, they offer custom and flexible pricing with an annual subscription, where you pay for specific features and functionality required.

I would highly recommend this tool because it offers secure and reliable file exchange and transfer. It keeps sensitive data safe, whether it is in transit or at rest, with robust built-in security features. It is so easy to use. It does not require much maintenance.

We use GoAnywhere MFT for both front-end SFTP and back-end managed file transfer.

We do not make use of the connectors for services like Salesforce, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365, or any other services. The range of connectors that GoAnywhere MFT provides out of the box includes interesting connectivity to ServiceNow, which, although we don't use at our organization, adds flexibility, highlighting the product's strength in customization and configuration.

We do not use GoAnywhere agents because all of our connections are external organizations, and agents are more suitable for connecting offices within an organization.

We use secure forms for different purposes: one is for archiving data for 7 years for legal purposes, allowing employees to request specific files, and another allows us to handle all of our SFTP user and user-group provisioning through a secure form processing our formatted spreadsheet.

We use the GoFast feature to accelerate data transmission. This acceleration is beneficial as we handle a high volume of data and some fairly large files, sometimes up to 30 gig for an individual file, so having that functionality improves performance.

The best features of GoAnywhere MFT are its powerful customization capabilities that allow us to dictate the process and add in custom processes, which was a limitation with other MFTs we used.

Since implementing GoAnywhere MFT, we have seen scalability improvements, especially since we were using MOVEit MFT prior to that, and it just doesn't have the same scalability, making GoAnywhere a better fit as our company continued to grow.

The areas for improvement with GoAnywhere MFT include a basic SFTP user interface that lacks functionality compared to other MFT SFTP solutions, as well as some administrative features like filtering a page and job log record retention that could be enhanced. Support, UI, and filtering can definitely improve.

I have been using this solution for about 4 years.

The overall deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was pretty complex. It was complex due to the importance of data security in our industry, requiring a lot of infrastructure setup and a learning curve while migrating from the old environment.

The solution requires maintenance from our end, which includes applying patches and updates, as well as testing and validating new versions. Judging stability in terms of downtime, bugs, and glitches, I would rate GoAnywhere MFT as an eight out of ten.

GoAnywhere MFT meets our business needs in scalability, answering our capacity requirements. I would rate the scalability of GoAnywhere MFT as a ten.

When it comes to technical support, I would give it a rating of three. The technical support is slow to respond and to take action when issues arise, along with difficult-to-use user forums which complicate finding solutions on our own.

We were using MOVEit MFT prior to implementing GoAnywhere MFT. We have seen scalability improvements since the switch, as MOVEit MFT didn't have the same scalability, making GoAnywhere MFT a better fit as our company continued to grow.

The initial deployment took several months.

From our end, six people were involved in the deployment. Currently, ten users work with GoAnywhere MFT.

I have seen a return on investment from GoAnywhere MFT, not just financially, but also in saved time, resources, and efficiencies. In terms of percentage, for the amount of volume we are doing with GoAnywhere MFT and its functionality, I would estimate it has provided about a 50% return in four years.

Regarding the pricing of GoAnywhere MFT, they recently changed their pricing model, which wasn't as favorable, now moving to an annual renewal subscription model, but compared to other MFTs, I still find it reasonable. If I were to rate GoAnywhere MFT on a scale from 1 to 10, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I would say it falls around a six.

When comparing GoAnywhere MFT with other MFT products, I think it's a good fit for an enterprise-level organization, though it may be more complex than needed for small-medium businesses.

Our relationship with Fortra is that we are customers. GoAnywhere MFT has not saved us significant time in securely connecting with third parties; it compares well with other MFTs, though it hasn't been difficult to use. I would recommend GoAnywhere MFT to other users if they need something very scalable and flexible. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution a 7.

I use GoAnywhere MFT mainly to manage file transfers and to move data around the business. We have various teams and we use it to move data around. 

We use it for encryption, we use it to send bank files to the bank through an encrypted channel, we use it to send data to the DMV, and we use it to send data to law firms. 

We grant access to law firms to download their data whenever they need it, and basically, we use it to share information across various networks.

Previously, data transfers used to be manual, where somebody grabbed a file, encrypted it, and shared it. Now we create a project, tell it where the files are located, where they need to go, what the file name should be, and we schedule that on our third-party application called IBM Tivoli, which takes care of the process. That's pretty neat.

What I appreciate the most about GoAnywhere MFT is the encryption process, where we can create a project, set it to encrypt the data and run it automatically at any time without having a user involved. 

Before, we had to write scripts and manually update them to move data around, encrypt files, or rename files. Now we just use the GUI to set the modules for transfers, encryption, renaming, and copying, allowing us to set it and schedule it to run without any user interaction.

When I first started using GoAnywhere MFT, it was challenging to learn how to use it since I didn't get any training, so I had to navigate the application by myself. However, once I downloaded the user guide and started reading it, I found it pretty simple to understand.

In terms of improvement for GoAnywhere MFT, they could enhance the support, as there have been cases where we needed support due to the application getting stuck for no reason, and usually, the issue gets fixed by restarting the application. 

However, we never get a clear understanding of why the issue occurred and how we could prevent it. That's the only thing that could help if the application could log what caused the error for us to prevent it.

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for over ten years, and I've been the administrator for about six of those years.

In terms of stability regarding GoAnywhere MFT, it's good; it stays up and doesn't really crash. 

It does have some bugs, particularly with the SMB1 protocol, which is deprecated and should not be used. We have some resources that force us to use SMB1, and I've noticed that when we try to connect with it, sometimes it just hangs, affecting the application. The only bug we have occurs when connecting to SMB1; the system hangs, however, it usually starts working on its own without interventions from us or the networking team.

We do not use any connectors or Secure Forms at this time, only the current resources that we have in the service. We have experimented with connectors a few times when we thought we needed them. In the end, we were able to accomplish things differently, and we are aware that there are connectors in the application.

The quality of the support for GoAnywhere MFT is pretty good when they have knowledge of what's going on. We usually get fixes pretty quickly, however, with the issue of the application getting stuck, it can take some time for them to get back to us. However, we never get a clear explanation of what caused the issue or how to prevent it. Other than that, whenever they have knowledge of what's happening, the support is pretty good.

I have used alternatives to GoAnywhere MFT, including PuTTY, WinSCP, and FileZilla before, but GoAnywhere MFT is the best; we prefer it.

The initial deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was already there when I joined. I did complete a fresh install and migrated all the data since we needed to move the application from Windows 2016 to 2022 due to 2016 support ending. I downloaded the instructions on how to do the install, configure, and migrate the data, and everything was pretty straightforward; I didn't have any problems.

GoAnywhere MFT does not require much maintenance on my end, as the only maintenance we have is doing upgrades, and everything else works fine every day without any issues. Whenever there's a bug or issue with GoAnywhere MFT, we contact support, and they tell us what to do, how to mitigate the bug, or how to fix it.

GoAnywhere was already in place when I joined the company, as there used to be another version of GoAnywhere which I don't recall the exact name of. We upgraded to GoAnywhere MFT, which is the version that was already in place when I started.

On a scale from one to ten, I would rate the solution overall as a nine.

Our main use case for GoAnywhere MFT is automating secure data exchange between our internal databases and external vendors while maintaining a strict audit trail. For example, we have a daily automated workflow that pulls operational records directly from our SQL Server database every night. GoAnywhere MFT handles the extraction, automatically encrypts the file using OpenPGP, and pushes it out to an external partner SFTP server. If anything throws an error during that process, the platform immediately triggers an alert for our team. It completely removed the need for custom scripts and manual tracking on our end.

Day-to-day, we also rely heavily on GoAnywhere MFT for processing inbound files from our trading partners. We set up monitored folders, so the moment a vendor drops a file into an HTTPS endpoint or SFTP folder, GoAnywhere MFT instantly triggers a multi-step project to handle it. It automatically decrypts the incoming data, runs basic format validation, and feeds it directly into our internal processing files. Having the centralized dashboard where we can see the real-time status of every single inbound and outbound transfer has been a game-changer for our operations team, and it saves us hours that used to be spent digging through log files just to see if a file has arrived.

The absolute standout feature of GoAnywhere MFT is the drag-and-drop workflow automation engine. It includes numerous built-in tasks that completely eliminated our need to write and maintain complex custom scripts for file routing. Another huge piece is the native database integration because it lets us pull data, encrypt it, and transfer it all within a single automated step. On top of that, the centralized management and comprehensive audit logs make compliance audits incredibly stress-free. It gives our team full visibility into every single inbound and outbound transfer from one single dashboard.

The drag-and-drop workflow automation in GoAnywhere MFT completely transformed our daily operations by moving us entirely away from a manual codebase and script writing. Instead of writing custom code every time a partner changes their file format or protocol, we just chain prebuilt tasks together visually. The single task we use most frequently is the OpenPGP encryption and decryption block alongside the native SFTP task. It allowed us to pull a file from a folder with an ongoing monitoring system, encrypt it to meet compliance standards, and push it to a vendor in just a few clicks. This has saved our engineering team countless hours because we no longer have to debug broken codebases and handle key management manually.

The biggest impact GoAnywhere MFT has had on our organization has been the near total elimination of manual file transfer failures, which dropped by over 90 percent since we migrated. Before GoAnywhere MFT, our team spent hours every week manually tracking down failed scripts or missing files, but automated retries and alerts completely solved that. We have also seen a massive reduction in operational overhead. Setting up a new vendor integration now takes just a few minutes, instead of days of custom codebase writing and development. From a security perspective, we have achieved 100 percent compliance alignment on data at rest encryption for our partners' files right out of the box. Ultimately, it freed our engineering resources to focus more on core projects rather than babysitting the file transfer.

From a core functionality and reliability standpoint, GoAnywhere MFT is exceptional and easily beats out the other options we looked at. If I had to pick something for a roadmap, the web-based admin UI can sometimes feel a bit traditional compared to newer and cloud-native SaaS platforms, but it is easier to understand as it has a traditional web setup. There is also a slight learning curve when you first dive into building complex, multi-step workflows with traditional logic. However, these are minor operational adjustments rather than actual platform limitations. It does exactly what it is built for, and its stability completely outweighs any cosmetic preferences that I might have.

There really is not much to complain about, but if I had to find a small area, the documentation for niche, advanced scripting scenarios could be slightly more modernized with more real-world examples. Additionally, while the built-in integration for major databases and standard cloud storage are fantastic, having more native and one-click connectors for newer SaaS platforms would save us a bit of configuration time. Right now we handle those newer cloud endpoints using their standard web services task, which works perfectly fine. It is just a minor quality-of-life thing, but as far as the core file transfer mechanics go, the platform is rock solid.

I have been working in my current field for almost three years.

GoAnywhere MFT is absolutely stable for our use case. GoAnywhere MFT has demonstrated stable operation for our organization, even when external factors beyond our control came into play, and it gave us the best stable solution for our use cases.

GoAnywhere MFT's scalability is actually one of the core and strongest characteristics. The architecture is fully designed for horizontal scaling through native, active-running clustering. This means as your transfer volume grows, you can just add more server nodes to the cluster to distribute the processing load seamlessly. We paired the engine with GoAnywhere Gateway, which acts as a load balancer to spread inbound partner connections evenly across the clusters using a round-robin approach. For our background workflow projects, the system automatically balances the execution load across all active nodes to maximize throughput. It gives us true enterprise scale without needing to redesign a single workflow or script as we grow.

Customer support for GoAnywhere MFT has been excellent and is definitely one of the stronger aspects of working with Fortra. Whenever we have opened a ticket, usually for clarifying a syntax requirement in an advanced multi-step workflow or verifying an architecture configuration for our hybrid gateway setup, their technical support team has been highly responsive and genuinely knowledgeable. We are not just getting generic front-line script readers; we get engineering support that actually understands the network infrastructure, encryption protocols, and complex routing.

Before making the switch to GoAnywhere MFT, we were relying on a mix of standard Linux SFTP servers paired with a ton of custom cron jobs and shell scripts. It technically worked when our vendor network was small, but it completely lacked central management and had zero native error handling. If the transfer failed at 2:00 a.m., we would not find out until a partner called us in the next morning, because there were no automated alerts or tracking. We also evaluated other commercial tools such as Progress MOVEit at the time, but we found GoAnywhere MFT's visual workflow designer to be significantly more robust and far easier to integrate with our SQL databases. We ultimately switched because we reached a point where we could not risk compliance gaps or waste valuable engineering hours manually debugging broken scripts.

Regarding deployment, we opted for a hybrid cloud model to get the best of both worlds. Our core GoAnywhere MFT engines and sensitive database connections sit securely on our internal private infrastructure to satisfy strict data residency requirements. Meanwhile, we leverage cloud-based secure gateways and agents in our public cloud environment to cleanly manage external partner connections and edge transfers.

We use Amazon Web Services, AWS for the public cloud part of our hybrid deployment. We used AWS Marketplace to purchase GoAnywhere MFT.

We saw massive ROI within the first six months of deployment. From a direct time-saving perspective, we went from roughly 60 to 80 hours a month in manual scripting and troubleshooting down to zero. This essentially gave us back the entire full-time engineer's worth of capacity. While we did not reduce our headcount, we were able to completely reallocate those valuable technical resources to focus heavily on our core platform. We have completely avoided the heavy financial cost and penalties associated with missed SLAs and compliance violations because our transfer failure rate dropped by 90 percent. When you factor in the speed at which we can now onboard new trading partners, minutes instead of days of custom coding, the operational cost saving has been massive.

Our experience with GoAnywhere MFT's pricing, setup cost, and licensing structure has been highly positive because it is completely module-based. Instead of hitting us with a rigid, monolithic enterprise price tier, Fortra lets us license the core engine and then strictly pay for the specific modules and servers we actually need. Customers can upload/download files for their respective cases either via SFTP or HTTP. Project workflows has been great to buid automation for this usecase. We have an integration of GoAnywhere MFT internally with Oracle Service Cloud and the automation plays a vital role for to and from communication between these systems.

The aspects I appreciate most about GoAnywhere MFT are that many things are all in one platform. I can use it for file transfer, for security purposes, for audit purposes, managing files across my team, and managing automation-based tasks. The web-based UI is also excellent.

My company uses SharePoint websites, so the connector with SharePoint is valuable. It is a good feature that allows you to work with it properly.

What I dislike about GoAnywhere MFT is that the dashboard is quite clunky. The UI part could be a little better. It is almost good, but sometimes it feels very cluttered.

When I joined, it was quite easy to learn how to use GoAnywhere MFT. The UI is very friendly, and you can find everything from the UI, so it did not take much time for me to get used to it. It took me approximately one to three days to fully understand how to use all the features perfectly.

GoAnywhere MFT does not require any maintenance on my end as it can manage many things perfectly. I just use it whenever necessary without needing to manage any additional things.

Regarding Secure Forms, I believe it involves data transformation, and in terms of security, it is quite good. GoAnywhere MFT uses the latest encryption over the file, and you can manage the access to it, so its security features are quite perfect. I have not used the GoFast feature to accelerate data transmission yet. I have not been using GoAnywhere Agents yet. I give this product an overall rating of eight out of ten.
