I use DD Boost because we utilize some Data Domain protection servers. We use DD Boost with our backup solution, Veeam, as it is part of our Veeam backup solution. 

I am currently working as a system engineer, and I have been using DD Boost for about two years. I use it quite intensively for managing data backups in my organization. My primary role involves configuring and maintaining the system, especially after refreshing our fleet of servers and needing to redeploy and reconfigure DD Boost from scratch.

We use DD Boost as a backup appliance for data storage. The appliance provides data deduplication and synchronization, contributing to faster processes. We engage with a local partner who handles the provider and support requirements.

Some of our customers use data domain models like 6400 and some have a higher model, 9400. We sell the Dell solution, and some customers upgrade their software quicker than others, like to version 7072.

We are using the RMAN tool, which stands for Recovery Manager, in our company's backup solution. The backups are managed through the Recovery Manager (RMAN).

At our company, we have configured DD Boost on Data Domains and web-based backup appliances. DD Boost is connected to a network solution of our organization. 

Using DD Boost, you can deduce a technology that connects the Data Domain with the NetWorker. DD Boost acts as a path to connect the Data Domain and NetWorker simultaneously to take backups. 

DD Boost offload processing tasks from the server to the Data Domain products. It enhances the backup process by providing the application's source and automation sites. This means servers' CPU and other resources are not heavily burdened during backups. All workloads are efficiently handled, improving the overall backup performance

Dell DD Boost is used together with Dell's appliances for areas like data domain and networking.

DD Boost is a very good functionality if you have machines or servers with a lot of data you don't want to send through a network. With DD Boost, you can use it as an application on the server itself before you send over the data. If you want to improve the speed and reduce the amount of data that is sent over the wires, you use DD Boost.

In our current production environment, we are using Data Domain for both primary and NDR, and we are planning to replace the VINs. Our focus has mainly been on improving data transfer rates, particularly for decision-making and data transfer efficiency.

We primarily use the solution for replication and backup jobs.

This solution, Data Domain Boost, works with Data Domain to improve the backup speed. For example, we propose this solution for customers who need to back up their VR LAN quickly.

The best use case for this solution is a client that has a LAN architecture backup with a lot of data. It may include databases like Oracle and MSSQL. 

Recently, we integrated a Data Domain 9300 for a financial institution in Morocco that can back up both VTL and VMware virtual workloads. There is replication between two sites and it is integrated with NetBackup and TSM. So, in this project we used DD Boost to backup all VMware workload and the resuslt is the client is satisfied.

We use this solution to compress our data storage and as a data backup environment. We only store our data for two weeks, so in a two-week period, for the volume of data as well as our mixed types of data, we get the best cost per terabyte stored on Data Domain.
