We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is quite stable. The performance is very good.""With Power BI and Power Applications you can do a lot of our automation within IT. It makes everything much quicker.""t is easy to use and the features are good.""It is easy to use.""The Power BI environment and the integration between Power BI and SQL are the solution's most valuable features. The integration between products is great.""It's great that one user can log onto many different devices.""I would like to use different tools than Microsoft 365 Business but I am working in the IT industry and it is quite easy to use some of the editors. For my wife and sons, it is more comfortable and easier to use Office 365. I encourage them to use some kind of editor directory in the browser.""Microsoft Teams, without a shadow of a doubt, is the best platform ever. It is also very stable with a lot of options."

"Yammer is useful since it is a product you can easily integrate into our system since Microsoft supports it.""It was a stable solution...It was a highly scalable solution considering it was used in a very big company.""The integration with Teams is the biggest value for us. In fact, it has only become more valuable now that it has integration with Teams. Teams allows you to stream, so that's good.""The most valuable feature of Yammer is its interface.""Its most valuable features are the storyline and communities.""The solution was stable.""Yammer shows the post’s actions, comments, and how people react. We can quickly see what's going on.""The most valuable feature of Yammer is its integration with all the services of Office 365."

Cons
"The program's UI could be faster.""Microsoft Teams for Mac isn't good enough just yet. It's an aspect of the solution they can still work on.""Microsoft needs to enhance its part in service management. I believe they have a product called Orchestrator, it does not get the same benefits and functionality as the rest of the solutions such as Dynamics or Office 365. They can improve by providing more integration with other solutions to cover the full business spectrum of needs, this would be a great benefit.""As an example, there isn't a clean transfer to a Google Doc outside of hosting it as a .docx file.""The cost is a bit high.""The solution could improve by providing better integration with other platforms.""Excel hangs many times, especially when we have equations. Excel is very heavy on the hardware, and it needs powerful hardware. I hope they can enhance the performance of Excel. Other products are working well, except for Excel.""It could be cheaper, but I don't know if this is possible."

More Microsoft 365 Business Cons →

"Although Microsoft is working on it, having a centralized network instead of creating multiple networks based on a domain would help businesses with multiple companies or child companies.""If you are using other applications that are tough to integrate into the environment, that can cause limitations.""This solution would be improved if it was well integrated with other communication applications.""The permissions are a little bit over-complicated.""The product seems to just add to the complexity of using existing tools.""We tried to integrate into SharePoint, but it was not really efficient.""Microsoft should work on templating and provide some built-in templates so that the changes can automatically roll out to all the configured communities.""The solution must be able to stream by itself, without integration, the same way that you are able to do it on Facebook Live, Instagram, etc. Streaming must be embedded into it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you."
  • "Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy."
  • "We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now."
  • "USD $1,250 annually for the standard package."
  • "Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning."
  • "Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month."
  • "It works out to be $12.50 per user per month."
  • "Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."
  • More Microsoft 365 Business Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I don't know about the pricing. Now that Microsoft has bought Yammer, it should be a part of our subscriptions for Office 365."
  • "The pricing is not bad."
  • "Its cost is included in the license bundle for Microsoft."
  • "Yammer is a pretty cheap solution, and it's included in multiple subscriptions."
  • "Compared to other products like Amazon, Yammer's pricing is fine."
  • "We get it as part of our Office 365 subscriptions, so I don't think we pay any additional cost for Yammer. It's included in the Office 365 subscriptions."
  • "I think that there is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution."

There are several discussions on SharePoint’s social strategy going on at the moment. I had some great discussions with my MVP mate Adis during Summit last week. Since #SPC12 almost every SharePoint addicted developer, it-pro, power user has reviewed Yammer. If you don’t know what Yammer is, here a short introduction. Yammer is an enterprise social network, which allows you and your coworkers to communicate in a modern way as on Facebook. The huge difference between Facebook and Yammer is, Yammer is private. That means only people from your organization or the people you’ve invited to join your network can see and take part of the conversation which is going on in your Yammer network. With the common understanding of Yammer, you should be able to follow up the ongoing discussions. Adis wrote a great post, summarizing his thoughts on SharePoint and Yammer integration and the upcoming social future. I totally agree with Adis, there are a lot of things missing at the moment. But here my thoughts on Yammer vs. SPSocial Leak of integration In my eyes there is still too much missing, of course you can integrate yammer into your SharePoint, but key features are missing such as SSO, seamless look ‘n feel integration. Prebuild views on Yammer depending on the current SharePoint context or the mobile story. Microsoft shipped mobile Apps for SharePoint 2013 OnDemand and OnPrem. AFAIK are these apps currently available in preview, but each of them is based on SPSocial. SharePoint… Read more →
