We performed a comparison between Trellix Endpoint Security and Trend Micro Deep Security based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Microsoft, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike and others in Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP)."The stability is very good."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
"Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"This is stable and scalable."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection is stable. We don't have any bugs being reported."
"The most valuable features are reporting from the ePO console and the advanced threat protection (ATP)."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable features are the adaptive tech on McAfee."
"McAfee EndPoint Security has a lot of good features that work well if they are implemented properly."
"A big advantage of McAfee Endpoint Security is the ability to manage very big environments. We are supporting environments with 200,000 to 300,000 endpoints. The ability to manage with one single console is very important for us. McAfee has phenomenally improved in terms of detection. It provides real-time detection and response with the error, Real Protect, and reputations. It is not only based on signatures but also on behavior analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. We have environments that never had issues with ransomware in the last 20 years. McAfee has a very good performance in this field."
"We receive good protection with this solution."
"The product helps us by contacting us if there are any virus attacks on our system."
"Trend Micro gave our security teams a certain degree of comfort by just having it in the background, as they have familiarity with the product."
"It integrates well with the cloud; for example, AWS, and Google Cloud Provider."
"They release timely updates and have efficient prediction features for threat detection."
"The user interface is the most valuable feature."
"There is no competition for this product, as no other product provides HIPS, host-firewall, and anti-malware together."
"Patch management is most valuable. The major selling point of Deep Security is that it is based on the cloud. Deep Security is for the servers and databases of data centers, and generally, for patch management, you have to shut down the machines, and then you have to restart them. So, they need shutdown time, which is a cost. Big enterprises don't want to shut down their database or their data center for any kind of patch. Deep Security creates a wall and downloads all patches. You install it on the cloud. So, it saves your server from any kind of intrusion or any kind of penetration, and whenever you get a chance or time, in six, eight, or nine months, you can physically download or install all those patches in one go. So, it saves you time. It also saves your shutdown time and keeps your data center safe."
"DLP, Data Loss Prevention, and the complexity of how we manage the console and how this client, or this tool, will notify us when there is something going wrong within the server and endpoint, is good."
"Support and threat prevention are the most valuable features of this solution."
"Detections could be improved."
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR."
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"The software download features could stand improvement."
"The product is not easy to use."
"Tech support is not as helpful as they were in the past."
"Users can just install software into their computers. We need some sort of application control system that, if there are any pieces of software that are not whitelisted, then the solution could flag it or maybe alert the administers. That would be very helpful."
"There are times the solution has some additional software added that is not fully integrated properly, such as Exchange Group Sheild. It is quite old and is not fully integrated properly and could be improved."
"I think it would be nice if Dynamic Application Control would come together with McAfee Endpoint Security."
"Technical support from the vendor is very bad."
"The user interface could be improved by making it more user-friendly. There are multiple solutions and there is no clear line differentiating all of them. There is a centralized console where we manage everything but most of the administrators feel a little confused when it comes to managing multiple products from a single place."
"A minor issue in Trend Micro Deep Security is that once the tool is upgraded, it shows some machines as offline or not reported while showing a recent update as outdated. The tool has some server connection issues."
"Their automation needs improvement."
"Pricing is on the expensive side and could be more affordable. The technical support for Trend Micro Deep Security also needs improvement."
"Installation and operations may have issues on some machines owing to their configuration of the network cards as the product is a DPI driver."
"We want to see improved authentication."
"The email relays and proxies could be improved."
"Sometimes the patching is a bit slow."
"We'd like to see extended capacity in the on-premises versions."
