Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The multi-tenancy is the most valuable feature for us because it's the only software that is fully multi-tenant and that has all the features we need to provide to all our tenants. It provides us with advanced features for MySQL and Oracle, among other platforms""A very stable and scalable platform (you can backup/restore/protect a couple of MBs or hundred of TBs as well from the same console/platform).""The granularity of the Office 365 Backup & Recovery feature is very good. We've used all of it, recovering data from each of the four systems that we back up with it, and it works very well.""Among the best features are the BMR (Bare Metal Recovery), Live Sync, and IntelliSnap, which is used for snapshots of hypervisor storage. It's predefined so you only need to enable it and it works. I haven't seen anything like this in other backup tools like Veritas NetBackup or Dell EMC or TSM. We will use snapshotting for all our machines.""The most valuable feature of Commvault HyperScale X is the automatic nature of its operation. We don't need to worry about sets of documents. It worked automatically, we don't need to think about it. When you set the solution up in a good way, you don't need to worry.""Commvault is very simple to use and it is automated.""It runs all the tests and emails us the reports. We take daily, weekly, and monthly snapshots, and I integrate the storage snapshot scripts with the Commvault workflow. The Commvault workflow runs all the scripts and sends us the reports. It also features cloud-side reports and workflows. Commvault has many tools for backing up, restoring, and archiving things, but we use another service for our archives.""The most valuable feature is the deduplication ratio. It saves most of our space and reduces the network traffic."

"The tool's implementation has made life easier for customers. It is sold by SAP. The integration between SAP and the solution is good, making it easy to access the documents. It is widely recognized as a market leader in enterprise document management.""An advantage is integration with your IP directory.""I did not face issues with the product's scalability...The solution's technical support is good.""The product can be integrated with different solutions.""We like how the solution allows us to have retention of records and workflows, as well as its fire plan.""It has a robust search but has often been difficult for people to learn."

More OpenText Content Manager Pros →

"We use the solution to archive emails.""Organizations can streamline governance processes and improve compliance by utilizing automated classification to tag and categorize data.""Veritas Enterprise Vault is an archive solution for email and files.""The most valuable features are ease of use and performance. However, the performance can depend on the workload being used.""Veritas Enterprise Vault is highly stable and has low-maintenance.""Enterprise is a user-friendly product.""The stability is excellent.""The most valuable feature of Veritas Enterprise Vault is the on-premise recall from your email into Outlook."

More Veritas Enterprise Vault Pros →

Cons
"It would be nice to have just one email report come in, then we can filter out failures. If everything is backed up, we really don't need to see the report. If it is in a single report. A simpler customised report would be good.""The customer support is not good.""I would like Commvault to have a feature for cybersecurity threats, e.g. securing the target backup repository. Commvault just started testing and releasing this feature, but it needs to be stabilized.""One issue we face is the complexity of the console. That could be improved on. It takes users time to get familiar with Commvault. On average, it takes our customers between one and three months to learn it. The console and the way you configure Commvault have very advanced settings. It takes time to understand how it works.""Its dashboard could be improved to provide a summarized version of all the jobs instead of having to go through each one of them. We should easily be able to glance at all issues. If I had not gone with the on-premise version, I would have had regular reports with the cloud version. It would be an advantage if they increase the compression rate of the backup. I am keeping it on-prem, so I'll need more disks depending on the policies that I have in the retention period. Its price could also be lower. If a good solution can be cheaper, it is always an advantage.""Setup is complex.""When we started using Commvault, we felt that there were some technical issues with managing it, but we are comfortable enough with managing it now. There were many issues, like index corrupting, when we first started, but all those issues were resolved by the Commvault tech team.""Commvault is a rich system that might scare somebody the first time they see it because it feels so huge."

More Commvault Cloud Cons →

"Due to very limited use in the industry, vendor and contract support are hard to find.""The stability of the solution is an area of concern where improvements can be made.""OpenText Content Manager needs to improve its user interface. Its installation process is difficult and can be made easier.""The ease of use should be addressed.""The product could improve its scalability.""Support could be enhanced. The first line of support consists of individuals who lack experience with some key aspects. When you create a support ticket, the time to resolve the issue may be prolonged because the first person may not understand the system or the solution."

More OpenText Content Manager Cons →

"The platform's price could be affordable for small businesses.""The integration needs to improve.""The quality of support by Veritas has declined in the last year.""The solution is not user-friendly and the restoration is not fast. It's also tricky to get information from it.""Cost is high for Veritas Enterprise Vault.""The stability could be improved.""Veritas Enterprise Vault should improve its indexing and customization options.""I cannot perform application backup, and I am not able to repair the license."

  • "Our cost is around $20,000 per month. The previous year, it was around $30,000 per month. It now costs less because Commvault changed the licensing type for providers."
