Nasseer Qureshi - PeerSpot reviewer

Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I found it competitive. Check Point provided discounts, making the pricing reasonable with respect to the features they offer. The pricing is very justifiable, neither exceptionally high nor exceedingly low.

The comparable solutions to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration are Proofpoint and Mimecast. The main difference is that Check Point traditionally has been a firewall software company, recognized as the first vendor for inspection and firewall concepts. Proofpoint, on the other hand, started as an email filtering and security solution. Proofpoint has maintained its focus on email security, making significant investments in this area. While Check Point has broadened its portfolio to include cloud security and other areas, this expansion can sometimes pose challenges as it may limit the time available for improving individual products.

The pricing is in the middle. Check Point's pricing is not the highest in the competitive market.

It's more expensive than Barracuda but less expensive than Cisco. So, I would give it a rating of six out of ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap.

The product is expensive compared to some competitors, especially for the SME segment in India. On average, it's around 10,00,000 to 15,00,000 lakh rupees for 200 users per year. Additional costs depend on the customer and their requirements.

I rate the pricing a six out of ten.

Due to its pricing, I would say that Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is more suitable for medium to enterprise organizations. For smaller customers, they usually require something more affordable, but it's not related to the features of the product. It's clearly about the pricing.

The license is issued on a yearly basis. On their website, we can observe a price per month, but it's derived from the yearly cost. I don't believe we have the option to purchase it for just a few months, for example.

As far as Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is concerned, we only need to pay for the license. Additionally, we have the option to integrate or add an additional support package, which includes the implementation course, and so on. However, for the solution, we only need to pay for the license.

The security solutions of which Email and Collaboration are a part is competitive because Check Point competes on both technology and price.

Check Point often competes with companies like Microsoft, Sophos, and CrowdStrike. Check Point offers competitive prices. Some companies may advertise lower prices, but they exclude essential components like email security or browser security, which you need to pay extra for and in the end they cost the same or even more.

So the pricing is highly competitive. It's comparable to other companies of the same caliber, such as Microsoft and CrowdStrike. However, with all of them, if you opt for managed services, the pricing can vary, becoming more of a black box. It's usually not publicly published and is often negotiated based on specific needs. Similar to storage pricing, you need to be aware of the details and negotiate. But overall, the pricing is excellent and on par with other leading solutions.

When comparing Check Point with lesser-known products like Kaspersky and others, it's important to consider the target market. If you're dealing with multinational corporations, or hospital systems, their requirements differ, from smaller companies, and they may be considering solutions from SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Sophos, or Cylance, however, you have to make sure the product offers all the specific components like email or browser security that Check Point provides. Check Point is known for its comprehensive range of solutions, including firewalls, which can be deployed to endpoints.

The cost of this product huge and it should be lowered because all organizations are going to be using cloud services. If it were more affordable then more organizations can rely on it to make them secure.

The pricing and licensing are always negotiable.

You can get CloudGuard as part of Infinity. When you do the solution through Infinity, it's a per user type of license cost. That is how we have been looking at it.

We are in a point in time where we are going to have to renew our Endpoint Security licensing. When we do that, we will take advantage of the SaaS management console and just concentrate there. At that point, we will have the SmartConsole, CloudGuard, and Gateway on the SaaS. However, we're not there yet.

When it comes to Threat Prevention pricing and licensing, it has felt a little costly. For some clients, who are looking at security as their primary concern, then it's better for them.

I'm in this business as a system integrator, so I need to suggest Check Point to some customers who are comparing products. I sell Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto solutions. In terms of licensing, this solution is quite competitive but very costly. For someone looking at security as a primary concern, they should only invest in Check Point. For a customer who is looking at security combined with pricing, Check Point might not be the core solution for them. In today's market, customers are looking for effective security with efficient pricing, and Check Point is not suitable for these types of customers.

I would like them to improve the pricing.

It's hard to advise people on pricing and licensing. It's priced per user, although I do not remember what the list-price per user is and I don't even remember what we pay per user. But Check Point has always been very good about its licensing models. One of the nice features is that the licensing model is elastic, so if you go over your license count, you can add users during your billing cycle and true-up later. That type of policy is great for a company such as ours that does M&A activity and sees the occasional burst in employee count.

There are absolutely no additional costs to the standard licensing fees. One of the wonderful pieces is that CloudGuard SaaS is all-inclusive in its licensing. There's no a-la-carte functionality. You're getting 100 percent of the product for the licensing that you're paying.
