We performed a comparison between Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery and VMware Aria Operations based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Veeam Software, Commvault, Zerto and others in Cloud Backup."The recovery of data is the most valuable feature. The software backup, which is just a program that gets installed on a server, can back up to the cloud. You can install that on a server or PC, and that will simply back up a user's files and folders. If it is installed on the server, we just back up the relevant data. Recovering that, if there has been a malicious attack on a business or anything like that, has been invaluable in the past. The good features about that are obviously, if the physical hardware has a problem, then we can utilize the appliance, turn on the virtual machine, and carry on running the business while we put the hardware back and correct the issue."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it is simple to use."
"Given that we are in the hurricane belt, the spin-up of replicated servers in the cloud is among the most valuable features. If our site goes down we can just connect to the cloud appliance, spin up the servers, and we are good to go."
"The overall ease of use and management of the solution using the Infrascale Dashboard is very good. We haven't had any issues. It is easy to learn. Most of our techs who deal with backups are usually up and running with the dashboard within a day or so. They don't have a lot of buried features where you have to dig through things to get to the resolution. It is pretty self-explanatory."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to boot locally, as well as in Infrascale's cloud. This means that we can either do on-site failover or failover to their cloud."
"For this particular client, the solution’s Critical Server Insurance feature that protects physical and virtual servers including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V, was a very big factor as well. They have a bunch of physical servers, as well as virtual. The mix is predominantly virtual. They also have some NAS boxes that we back up using Infrascale."
"Its Critical Server Insurance feature for protecting physical and virtual servers, including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V is mandatory for me and it makes me happy. If I had a backup solution that didn't do that, it would not be a backup solution and would not be any good."
"The initial setup was straightforward and we received support from the manufacturer."
"The most valuable feature is the way you can look at your virtual machine and see if it's using too many resources or not enough, and you can add resources to it if you need to, or take some away to save on them."
"What I find most valuable is its simplicity, which allows us to seamlessly migrate views from one physical server to another, be it due to resource overloads or transitioning from one set of disks to another."
"I rated this solution an eight because it's intuitive and easy to use. The features that it'll bring us are tremendous"
"It helped troubleshooting issues with storms of software data that cost a lot of IO."
"It has allowed us to identify problems sooner and helps us with problems and issues."
"It is efficient and easy to manage. We can find what we need from the software's interface."
"It has made a big difference in the time to troubleshoot. It's significantly reduced it."
"There's a feature known as Smart Alerts in vRealize Operations, which I have found to be useful if there's anything going wrong in the infrastructure. What usually happens is that you get so many alerts that you become confused. Smart Alerts give you visibility into your infrastructure and also recommend how to fix the situation. That's a feature which I'm really a fan of."
"They set me up as a vendor, not as a client. So sometimes I end up in the wrong portal and I'm doing vendor things instead of client things, and I didn't realize that right away. Once I figured it out I just changed my favorites on my desktop to go to the client-side."
"There is room for improvement by making the interface a little more intuitive when navigating to recover flat files or an old server."
"I would like to see more features for the section on the viruses and maybe another in reference to two-factor authentication."
"There could be some room for improvement in the on-premises hardware selection. It is hard for them to deploy a lot of different hardware options. Depending on footprint size and overall capabilities, that is where there could be some flexibility in some cases. However, it is not a deal-breaker."
"They can always make the GUI a little bit nicer, the interface level a bit better. There's always room for improvement."
"Having options to replicate between their data centers, once the data is offsite, would be an improvement that they could make."
"The only thing I would suggest, and I have talked to my manager about it already, is that they should have a direct backup-to-cloud solution. It should be something that does not require me to do an image backup, and then individual file and folder backups, to be able to restore individual files."
"I would like to be able to limit the bandwidth in cases, for example, where we are uploading the backup."
"They should include an integration feature through which we can connect to different vendors by installing a small plugin."
"There were early kinks in the some of the virtual appliances as we rolled them out."
"It is quite expensive and if you just implement it just because you can then you won't get any benefit from it. You have to think through and plan ahead. You have to understand what the issues are that you want to solve with this solution. Otherwise, this solution is a waste of money."
"The one thing that I am always missing is training specific to Horizon. There is no training class you can go to for the Horizon add-on for vROps. I'd like to see specific training for Horizon admins, as opposed to general vSphere admins."
"I would like to see more features, especially in the way of Flash to HTML5."
"Our hands are tied by using this product. It is not as flexible as it could be."
"I'd like to see more of the advanced reporting without having to go to the advanced product and paying the extra price. Canned reports are great, but you shouldn't have to pay for custom reports."
"It's mostly user-friendly and intuitive. They're improving their dashboards which makes it a lot easier. Sometimes, drilling down and trying to find the exact thing you're looking for can prove challenging at first, but it's getting better."
