Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The recording feature accelerates the timeline of your implementation.""We have used support a few times for one of our customers, and they respond quickly. If the issue involves a critical production system, they respond to the request on the same day.""Having a cloud-based deployment provides more flexibility because we just need an internet connection for connecting the agent into the AA cloud.""I also very much like the integrating of this solution with other applications. We have some old web applications that we've been using, and we've been writing some of our own DLLs to integrate with it. It has worked really well.""Automation Anywhere's most valuable feature is its seamless integration into procurement software, allowing for the automation of purchase orders, billing, employee travel details, and other tasks.""I found the new feature of integrating Python and HTML the most valuable.""By using this solution for RPA, we can automate a lot of business processes, which helps achieve less time to market.""The simplicity and ease of use is the most valuable part of Automation Anywhere."

"Data extraction and auto-classification are great features.""It's not so complex to design what you need to.""Kofax is very easy to use, UI-friendly and allows easy data extraction.""The tool is low code which saves you from a developer.""The most valuable features of this solution are automation, ease of billing processes with the process net, and low to no code development.""What I find most valuable in Kofax TotalAgility is its OCR feature. I also find its workflow and business process management capabilities valuable. Kofax TotalAgility also has good integration with other solutions and has an API call feature.""Kofax TotalAgility is a great design tool for reading handwritten invoices.""One feature I like is that it makes the matrix easy for an unstructured document."

Cons
"The improvements that we could see would be the increased stability of each A2019 releases and reduce the likely impact on existing features. We are also looking to see improvements in the upgrade and bot deployment processes to make them easier and less interaction with back end servers.""Though IQ Bot is the most powerful and effective cognitive OCR platform for data extraction in the market, still, there is a lot of scope for improvement as there are a lot of non-standard documents which do not give a high straight-through processing rate and accuracy.""Automation Anywhere courses are a little bit complex to understand. You need a little bit more time, and accessibility is also a little bit of an issue.""Automation Anywhere has to improve its technical features.""Better use case management to prevent each development from scratch would be an improvement.""MetaBots and Control Room may have some room for improvement.""In the version that we have, there are some challenges with the browser-based applications, the cloning of the objects, and the solution's stability.""Automation Anywhere changed OCR features in A2019. My suggestion is to improve the OCR command scope and usability. We use OCR for PDF data extraction as we use in V. 11.x product."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"Kofax TotalAgility is quite vast and complex as a product. We came from Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation, then we started learning Kofax TotalAgility, so there are a lot of things that were quite straightforward in the Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation cross-motion modules, but to do those in Kofax TotalAgility was a bit more complex or quite long-winded and could be improved. In the next release of Kofax TotalAgility, it would be good to have a straightforward low-code or no-code process because there were instances we struggled with having to put logic into a script or a .NET script, then calling that script, instead of the process being low-code, no-code.""Kofax should improve its handwritten extractions.""They provide sufficient but not excellent technical support. Perhaps there is a point where they could use some improvement.""It would be nice if the tool has more connectors to different systems. It is an expensive solution.""The Transformation Designer of KTA can be made better.""Table line item extraction is not possible through Quick Capture.""Room for improvement would be better OCR functionality in terms of Arabic OCR. There should be better accuracy.""Lacks sufficient inbuilt features."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "The licensing cost for Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive, though I'm unable to give you the range, the sales representatives of my company say that the product is quite expensive."
  • "It is slightly more expensive than other tools."
  • "Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive."
  • "It has a perpetual license. You pay once in a lifetime for the volume of scans you will do and the number of users you will have. You can have participants or regular users, and you can have developers and administrators. So, once you purchase it, it is for a lifetime, and then every year, you have to pay for the maintenance. There is an annual maintenance cost, which is about 18% of the licensing cost."
  • "The price of this solution is less than some of the competition."
