A straightforward and stable solution that provides an overall report card and is helpful in reducing the risk score
Pros and Cons
  • "The main thing is the overall report card. We get to tell the percentages of users who click on links and who don't click on links. We also get an overall score or risk score from them, which also helps us."
  • "It can be more interactive with users. We want to put the users in different scenarios and let them make decisions. For example, instead of making users go through a video and then asking questions, it can have a video where they click on the scenarios and have to make decisions. It can maybe have something like a live simulation. It would be nice for users."

What is our primary use case?

Because of COVID, a lot of our training this year is done through Knowbe4. We've been using it a lot for training, especially for remote users. We not only have security training; we also have done some COVID training through it.

How has it helped my organization?

We brought our risk score down from about 20 to 15. Initially, the end users would click on a link, but now they call our IT departments if they're not sure of a link. They pick up the phone and call our help desk, which is actually very helpful.

What is most valuable?

The main thing is the overall report card. We get to tell the percentages of users who click on links and who don't click on links. We also get an overall score or risk score from them, which also helps us.

What needs improvement?

It can be more interactive with users. We want to put the users in different scenarios and let them make decisions. For example, instead of making users go through a video and then asking questions, it can have a video where they click on the scenarios and have to make decisions. It can maybe have something like a live simulation. It would be nice for users.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have had this solution for probably two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

On a scale of one to ten, I would probably give it an eight or a nine. It is viewed as a very stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

On a scale of one to ten, I would give it an eight for scalability. It does not have an easy way to sync your users and pull emails together. So, it is a little time consuming when you don't keep up with entering emails.

We probably have 4 to 500 users, and they range from being school teachers to executive members. We are a school, so we have everyone and all the departments as the users of this solution.

How are customer service and support?

Initially, we contacted them so that we can get set up. We had to reconfigure for all the users, but besides that, we never really needed any technical support. On a scale of one to ten, I would give them a nine. It was straightforward. They got straight to work, and they got it done.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I don't believe we did. We had in-house manual training.

How was the initial setup?

I don't know because this was installed before I started working there.

What about the implementation team?

I believe it was done through a consultant.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know the cost, but I believe we are paying yearly. We did like a three-year or five-year contract. I am not aware of any extra costs in addition to a standard licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

The biggest lesson that I have learned from using this solution is that users may feel they know everything, but they don't know everything at the same time.

I would rate KnowBe4 a nine out of ten. It is pretty much straightforward, and you get what you pay for.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
