Easy to install, simple to use, and very stable
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is very easy to use. It's an extremely user-friendly product."
  • "When it comes to handling the expiration of licenses, the solution should give a company more time to set up a renewal. It happens too abruptly right now."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for security and protection. We use the product to scan our machines and arrest any viruses it comes across in its search. We also use it for notifications. It will alert us to any issues with the system.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very easy to use. It's an extremely user-friendly product.

I've found the product to be scalable.

The solution is very, very stable. I haven't had any reliability issues so far.

The solution is fairly easy to install and update online.

What needs improvement?

When it comes to handling the expiration of licenses, the solution should give a company more time to set up a renewal. It happens too abruptly right now.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for a couple of years at this point. it's been a while. It's not new to me.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I can confirm that the solution is quite stable. There are no bugs or glitches. it doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. If a company needs to expand the product, it can do so quite easily.

We have more than 4,000 users across our entire organization that utilize the solution.

We have a lot of Kaspersky licenses and therefore will likely continue to use them going forward.

How are customer service and support?

I've never been in touch with technical support. Therefore, I can't speak to how knowledgeable or supportive they actually are if there are issues that arise.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have not used another solution. We've used Kaspersky for over ten years and we've never switched solutions at this company.

How was the initial setup?

When I got the machine it was very easy to install the product. It was not complex. Our IT didn't have any issues. Going forward, it's been updated online. This is also a simple and automatic process.

I'm not sure the exact amount of time it took for our IT admin to deploy the product.

We have 11 engineers on hand to deal with installation and any maintenance requirements.

What about the implementation team?

Our IT admins handle the installation. Individual employees do not do that. Therefore, I didn't handle the installation myself. However, it was handled in-house, and not by an integrator or consultant.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As an end-user, I am not aware of the costs of the licensing policies. I'm not on the commercial negotiation side of the licenses. There is someone else in the company that handles those details.

What other advice do I have?

We are customers and end-users.

I'm not sure of the version. This is handled centrally by the organization. I don't deal with that aspect of the product.

I'd recommend the solution to other companies.

I'd give it a rate of nine out of ten.

Stable with good malware threat detection and very scalable
Pros and Cons
  • "The malware threat detection has been excellent overall."
  • "The online privacy they provide users when they're doing online transactions has been great."
  • "The company needs to keep developing more security measures to help keep its customers safe. If they could keep adding to security features, it would be ideal."

What is our primary use case?

I've used Kaspersky as an integrator, for internet security. It can be used for malware and email security as well as for situations where you are handling online transactions.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very stable.

So far, we've found the solution to be scalable.

The online privacy they provide users when they're doing online transactions has been great.

The malware threat detection has been excellent overall.

We didn't have any trouble with the initial installation. The process was straightforward.

The interface is very user-friendly.

What needs improvement?

The company needs to keep developing more security measures to help keep its customers safe. If they could keep adding to security features, it would be ideal.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for a couple of years at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable and reliable. It doesn't crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. Its performance has been good overall.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution has been very scalable. If a company wants to expand the solution, it can do so with relative ease. It's not a problem.

We have eight people currently using the solution at this time.

We do plan to continue to use ht product going forward.

How are customer service and technical support?

I don't have any experience with technical support. I don't recall ever using them. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they are.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used ESET in the past, however, the product was making our machines run slow. That is the reason we ultimately switched to Kaspersky.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup process was not complex at all. It was very straightforward. We found it to be simple.

The deployment itself was very fast and likely took less than a minute or so.

We needed about four people to handle the implementation process.

What about the implementation team?

I handled the implementation by myself. I did not need the assistance of an integrator or consultant.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay a yearly licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

We're using the latest version of the solution at this time.

I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten overall.

I would recommend the solution to other organizations. We've been largely quite happy with this product.

Offers anti-malware protection, encryption, but end to end security needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "I find some of the most valuable features to be the anti-malware, encryption, and the EDR launching service."
  • "I would like the solution to be able to allow to have end to end security services from the final user to the server."

What is our primary use case?

We are mounting the solution on a secured managed service center, where we are implementing it in order to have the EDR.

What is most valuable?

I find some of the most valuable features to be the anti-malware, encryption, and the EDR launching service.

What needs improvement?

I would like the solution to be able to allow to have end to end security services from the final user to the server.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used CrowdStrike solution before and the price was very high.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I find the solution to be inexpensive compared to other solution like Crowdstrike.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security a six out of ten.

Enables us to see all of the data using the central view
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the central view, and with this view, I can see all of the data."
  • "I find it to be slow on my end and would like to see that improve. I think the e-learning portal can be updated because it's been disabled due to an upgrade. The data could be updated as well. I also think that pricing could be improved."

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the central view. With this view, I can see all of the data.

What needs improvement?

I find it to be slow on my end and would like to see that improve. I think the e-learning portal can be updated because it's been disabled due to an upgrade. The data could be updated as well. I also think that pricing could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security since 2018.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We currently have 150 users but have not tried to expand yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

Customer service/technical support staff have been responsive. They look for documentation and listen to you as you describe what happened.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it in-house, and the deployment took several days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have been using a yearly subscription and feel that pricing could be better. Perhaps, discounts could be given, during the renewal process, to those who have been customers for some time.

Easy to install, fast, stable, and has all required features
Pros and Cons
  • "Our clients are using the advanced options, and they're quite comfortable with this solution because they didn't have any problems. It was easy to integrate it with Active Directory. It is fast and easy to use. It has all the required features."
  • "Currently, it doesn't have a cloud option. This is something that they should look into going forward."

What is our primary use case?

Our clients use it for protecting their endpoints.

What is most valuable?

Our clients are using the advanced options, and they're quite comfortable with this solution because they didn't have any problems.

It was easy to integrate it with Active Directory. It is fast and easy to use. It has all the required features.

What needs improvement?

Currently, it doesn't have a cloud option. This is something that they should look into going forward.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable. We didn't have any problems.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have been implementing it in small companies, and it has been working fine.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't spoken to technical support because our implementation went well.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Our clients were using other antivirus solutions, and they moved to this solution. We will be doing POCs for some clients who already have a similar solution. It is not easy to move to a new solution.

How was the initial setup?

It was a simple process. The installation and the updates afterward went smoothly. The initial setup was quite fast. It took 15 to 20 minutes, which also included updates.

What about the implementation team?

We provide maintenance services to our clients and check whether the updates are happening.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its price is on par with other products. It might even be slightly cheaper. There are no additional costs.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security an eight out of ten.

Great pricing with an easy initial setup and good stability
Pros and Cons
  • "The price per endpoint is excellent."
  • "The solution, for what it does overall, is a very attractive solution."
  • "The reporting portion of the solution is quite weak."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for endpoint protection along with catering to Office 365, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, or Exchange - along with Windows update services.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution has definitely improved how our organization functions.

What is most valuable?

The solution, for what it does overall, is a very attractive solution.

The price per endpoint is excellent.

The initial setup is straightforward. It's pretty easy.

The solution has been very stable for us. We haven't had any issues with performance.

The scalability is there if a company needs to expand.

What needs improvement?

The reporting portion of the solution is quite weak. It needs to be improved upon. They could do a better job of making it more robust.

There's always room for improvement in everything, however, I can't think of a specific feature that is missing or lacking.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for well over a year at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product has been extremely stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable. The performance has been good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability has been good so far. I haven't run into any issues as far as scaling goes. That said, we aren't an enterprise. I've had it as high as 300 clients.

For us, we probably have about a hundred users and I'd say a large majority of those are production floor people. The rest (25 to 30) are front office staff.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never used technical support before. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they are. It's just not something I've dealt with.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to have Cisco AMP. We switched over to Kaspersky.

The reason we switched was really related to a price point and wanting to push out Windows updates, kind of more than device management type functionality.

How was the initial setup?

We've found the initial setup to be pretty simple and straightforward. It's not overly complex. A company shouldn't have any problem with the implementation process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost structure is very reasonable. It's not overly expensive, which is part of the draw of the solution.

What other advice do I have?

We're using the latest version of the solution. I'm not sure of the version number.

In general, we've been quite happy with the solution overall. I would rate it at a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Provides good visibility of the endpoint; cloud management was somewhat difficult
Pros and Cons
  • "It provides good security."
  • "As much as the solution is an endpoint product, it provided good security."
  • "I had issues with the cloud management of this solution."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case was for endpoint security.

What is most valuable?

As much as the solution is an endpoint product, it provided good security. When you logged in, you could actually see all the things that were happening on your endpoint and that was a benefit.

What needs improvement?

I had issues with the cloud management of this solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used this solution for about a year and recently switched to a different solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution was stable but it crashed the application sometimes. As much as it's an endpoint security, I think it should be intelligent enough to know which applications are secure and which are not.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using this solution but we recently switched to Sophos.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is quite straightforward. It took a few minutes, but the solution is complex to manage because as much as it was cloud-based, the machines in our environment meant that when you wanted to uninstall or remove an appliance from the portal, it was a bit hectic. The portal would say it's been removed but your machine didn't agree with that. We had about 50 users of the product and one engineer dealing with maintenance.

What other advice do I have?

I think the solution is suitable for a mid-size organization but not for enterprise size companies that need endpoint security.

I rate Kaspersky a seven out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

A stable and affordable endpoint security solution
Pros and Cons
  • "I like that Kaspersky isn't heavy."
  • "It's an affordable security solution."
  • "It should be more secure and detect new malware as it's released."

What is our primary use case?

I use Kaspersky like an end-user, I just want security, but I don't use all the features. I only use it for protection, like when someone puts a pen drive inside my PC and to block some websites and content.

What is most valuable?

I like that Kaspersky isn't heavy.

What needs improvement?

Like most of the virus scanning products, it can be better. It should be more secure and detect new malware as it's released.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security is a stable product.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy. It takes about an hour to install and deploy this solution.

What about the implementation team?

I installed it by myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's an affordable security solution.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this product to potential users.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Kaspersky Endpoint Security an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to deploy, run and maintain
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature that I have found most valuable is its deployment. It is easy to centrally deploy. You can deploy it on the Administration Console then deploy it to the different endpoint machines without specifically deploying it manually on each machine. Its deployment is really user friendly."
  • "There are quite a number of areas for improvement. The first area for improvement is that I find this solution to be very resource intensive when you're running a particular task, even a mere scanning task, even though it's running in the background. When you go to inspect the resources you realize it makes the machine very slow. It takes up a lot of resources even though there are no particular scanning tasks scheduled to run. That's one of the issues."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Kaspersky Endpoint Security is to protect our endpoint machines and ideally we are also looking at protecting our server. However, I had challenges deploying it to the servers. It was making them really slow.

What is most valuable?

The feature that I have found most valuable is its deployment. It is easy to centrally deploy. You can deploy it on the Administration Console then deploy it to the different endpoint machines without specifically deploying it manually on each machine. Its deployment is really user friendly.

Additionally, scheduled tasks like scanning and safe rules, taking rules and grouping the different machines, being able to pick updates automatically and deploy them remotely are generally very easy, though we've had some challenges.

What needs improvement?

There are quite a number of areas for improvement. That's one of the issues.

The second area for improvement had to do with machines at one point being unable to communicate with the Central Server or the Heartbeat.

Another issue is related to installations. There is a feature for remotely deploying the solution on your endpoint machines, but some machines can fail. There was a particular incident where I needed to reinstall the solution again and it wasn't uninstalling. So the uninstallation process was a bit challenging. I had to install the machine again manually. They were Windows machines so I had to go and restore the machine again. Uninstalling it and reinstalling it on some machines can be a bit challenging.

Additionally, the way it handles threats is an area for improvement. Suppose there is a particular threat that has been detected, maybe someone inserted their flash drive or something. It does not give me an option to configure. I don't know if I was doing it right so that the threat is neutralized without me having to log on to the Administration Console. Then you go to Active Threats and manually delete that threat. I thought it would be intelligent enough. For instance, if I compare it to the Defend, if the flash drive has a virus it'll delete it automatically or quarantine it and give me a notification. Here, I don't get notifications. There is no feature providing me with real time notifications. I have to manually go to the Administration Console, log on and try to view if there are active threats on the network.

There is also the issue of synchronization with the Active Directory particularly if I'm using the Linux server. Sometimes you have a machine you have deleted from the Active Directory or disconnected from the network but that machine is still appearing in the Administration Console and you have to delete it manually. These are some of the challenges we meet with Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

In terms of what I would like to see in the next release, I would like it to be a bit lighter. I've used a couple of other solutions and I find them lighter to use than Kaspersky. Kaspersky really has to improve on that aspect of making sure that it's not consuming a lot of resources.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for the last five years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security is scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Normally, we don't contact tech support directly. We rely on the partner here who supplies the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our license is a paid license which we pay annually. Every year we have been renewing the licenses.

I don't have any issues with the price. I think the pricing is fair.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We have been using Kaspersky Endpoint for Business Advanced. We are making a switch over to Sophos Intercept Advanced.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of one to ten, I would give Kaspersky Endpoint Security an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
