I work in the sales department, where I use Infor LN as a CRM tool.
Key Account Manager at Cronon GmbH
An excellent ERP system for mid-sized and large companies
Pros and Cons
- "The best thing about Infor LN is that you can use it for inter-company business and for international businesses, especially by mid-sized and big companies."
- "In general, the HR-related part of Infor LN doesn't work properly in Germany, making it an area that requires improvement."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The best thing about Infor LN is that you can use it for inter-company business and for international businesses, especially by mid-sized and big companies.
What needs improvement?
My company has operations in different locations across the world. In my company, we only need HR software, and it is something that is not provided to us here in Germany by Infor. I have to look for other HR software products available in Germany. In general, the HR-related part of Infor LN doesn't work properly in Germany, making it an area that requires improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Infor LN for five years. My company has a partnership with Infor LN.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
All the people in the ERP department, consisting of about 50 in my company, use Infor LN.
How are customer service and support?
Though I have not contacted the technical support team of Infor LN, I rate Infor LN's support team an eight out of ten from whatever I have heard about them to date.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I work for an IT company where we have been using Infor LN since the start of the company, which was in the year 2000.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup phase of Infor LN is not a task that I manage. I work in the sales department of my company, where I get involved in the setup phase at times since I have to sell the solution, and I do get involved with the person who looks after Infor LN in my company.
Infor LN is easier to set up than SAP since there is no need for many configuration processes.
The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.
What was our ROI?
If you use Infor LN in the right direction, and if you use it intensively, then it is a good product.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Infor LN is neither a cheap nor an expensive solution. Infor LN is not as expensive as SAP.
If you use Infor LN in Infor CloudSuite, there is a need to make an early payment for a license, which is approximately 2,500 EUR.
What other advice do I have?
Whether I would suggest Infor LN to someone or not depends on their work and company. I think it's an excellent ERP system for production companies.
I rate the overall product between nine to ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Project Manager at a aerospace/defense firm with 10,001+ employees
A flexible ERP with the best project module and excellent support
Pros and Cons
- "The project module is the best that I've ever seen, and more than that, it's the company's flexibility to change. It means that in our company, Infor LN has the capability to support many kinds of industries."
- "When you have a bug in the system, you get some kind of alert. They should explain those alerts more."
What is our primary use case?
We are a very big company, and except HR, we are using all the Infor LM models. We have the inventory. We have the purchase, and we have a lot of interfaces to the ecosystem in our company. It's our main ERP system.
What is most valuable?
The project module is the best that I've ever seen, and more than that, it's the company's flexibility to change. It means that in our company, Infor LN has the capability to support many kinds of industries. For example, we have an optics factory, we have a mechanical parts factory, and Infor LN can support all of them. That's because we have the flexibility to make changes and add additional fields that support our business correctly.
What needs improvement?
When you have a bug in the system, you get some kind of alert. They should explain those alerts more.
Infor needs to take its user interface one level higher. If I'm a professional, I can understand it, but if I'm a simple user, I cannot. It's very good currently, but they can make it better.
For how long have I used the solution?
It's our main ERP system. It replaced all of our ERP systems in the last six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable. Our company has thousands of people. We easily have more than 10,000 people.
How are customer service and support?
We have contacted them. We have a good connection with them. I'd rate them a 10 out of 10.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
It's very easy. The implementation duration depends on the size of the company. If you have 4,000 to 5,000 users, it will take less than a year.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The project module was the first reason, and the second reason was the management's flexibility to change. These were its advantages over other ERP systems.
What other advice do I have?
Go to your company. Take two weeks to learn about the company and then decide if you need Infor LN. You need to see if you will gain some advantages from implementing the system. If not, you can go for a smaller solution.
I'd rate it a 10 out of 10 because every time we had any problems, during the implementation or something else, we had someone we could talk to and resolve the problem. This is the main reason that I will choose Infor LN every time.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Director, Consulting Services at Blue Chip Computer
Efficient and scalable enterprise management with robust manufacturing capabilities, global integration support, excellent technical assistance, and a versatile cloud platform
Pros and Cons
- "Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects."
- "The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users."
What is our primary use case?
It is particularly well-suited for industries with a focus on manufacturing, such as repetitive manufacturing or job-shop environments. Organizations in these sectors have found significant value in optimizing their manufacturing processes. Additionally, the software has proven effective in enhancing financial management practices for a wide range of businesses. Specifically, its robust features in both manufacturing and finance make Infor LN a valuable solution for companies seeking comprehensive support in these key operational areas.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is production planning. Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects.
What needs improvement?
The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users. The reporting functionality is effective but the presentation is outdated and requires modification for a more modern and user-friendly experience.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been working with it for almost a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability capabilities eight out of ten. The main challenge lies in the extended training required for users due to the system's complexity, with numerous screens and checks.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate it eight out of ten. The advantage lies in its capability for both vertical and horizontal integration, not only within the Infor ecosystem but also with non-Infor systems. Unlike traditional database sharing, it operates more efficiently, functioning like a quick and flexible system. Currently, it caters to a diverse customer base ranging from medium to large enterprises, totaling around twelve customers.
How are customer service and support?
I would rate technical support at eight out of ten. Particularly in India, the support is excellent. There's a dedicated support team based in Hyderabad that promptly responds to any issues. Their assistance extends not only to customers but also to partners.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
I would rate the initial setup seven out of ten regarding its complexity. The challenge lies in the extensive setup required for the basic system to function effectively. This involves configuring numerous mapping screens and setting up multiple integration accounts, which is a one-time activity but is time-consuming.
What about the implementation team?
The primary concern lies not in the functionality itself but rather in the complexity of configuring it from a consulting perspective during implementation. While the planning output is accurate when the data is input correctly, the process becomes cumbersome, particularly for consultants setting up the system. The end results are satisfactory, but there is a desire for a more user-friendly approach, such as incorporating drag-and-drop functionality for planning and scheduling. The deployment time varies, but under standard conditions with no significant process changes, it typically takes six to seven months to go live. This timeframe includes implementation for sales, warehousing, manufacturing, finance, quality, and fixed modules—essentially covering core modules for a comprehensive system launch. Infor follows a deployment process known as IDM (Infor Deployment Method). This method involves several key steps, starting with a high-level process design, followed by project training. Subsequently, a prototype is created and subject to approval before moving on to the conference room pilot. Additional testing phases, such as conference room two or sequential testing, may be included, along with user training, data conversion, leading up to the final stage of going live.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost is somewhat high. I would rate it seven out of ten. It is considered relatively expensive for the medium market in India. The shift to cloud-based services has standardized pricing globally, eliminating country-specific discounts based on currency value or economic factors. For on-premises solutions, there's a twenty percent annual maintenance cost.
What other advice do I have?
Before choosing an ERP system, particularly for manufacturing, it's crucial to assess the system's ability to configure processes without extensive customization. This has posed challenges for both new and existing customers. Engaging with Infor consultants, testing with a sample production order, and observing the results provide a more accurate assessment than relying on standard reports or promotional materials. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

A solution which works brilliantly for large-scale manufacturing industries
Pros and Cons
- "I would say that it is typically used by large-scale manufacturing industries, especially in discrete manufacturing, and it has proven to work brilliantly."
- "Regarding areas for improvement within the solution, I would say that the solution's asset management and quality management need attention."
What is our primary use case?
Speaking about the solution's use cases, I would say that it is typically used by large-scale manufacturing industries, especially in discrete manufacturing, and it has proven to work brilliantly.
What is most valuable?
Specifically, I believe that Infor LN's strengths lie in its manufacturing module, planning capabilities, and order management features, such as procure-to-pay and order-to-cash. If I had to pinpoint one specific domain, I would say that manufacturing is exceptionally strong in Infor LN.
What needs improvement?
Regarding areas for improvement within the solution, I would say that the solution's asset management and quality management need attention.
Regarding features I would like to see included in the next release of this solution, HRM capabilities should be a priority since Infor LN is an ERP solution. While other ERPs provide HR functionalities, such as payroll for salary calculations, Infor LN currently lacks these capabilities. In Infor LN, the existing add-on comes under a different package and a different product altogether, requiring integration. Therefore, enhancing or developing HR application functionalities within Infor LN would make it a complete solution. In short, the next release of the solution should include features that can help improve the human resource management process.
For how long have I used the solution?
I am a manufacturing consultant for Infor LN and work for an implementation organization. So, we implement Infor LN ERP for our customers around the globe. The company name is Infor, and the ERP application name is LN. I am currently using Infor LN Version 10.8 on the cloud.
I am working for a company, Merino Consulting Services, which is a channel partner for Infor.
I have been working with Infor LN for close to ten years now. So, it has been almost a decade.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability-wise, I rate this solution an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Regarding scalability, Infor provides regular updates, including major and minor updates. Weekly and monthly updates are also available, and every quarter or either every six months or one year, Infor releases a new version. In addition to updates, Infor keeps adding enhancements, functionalities, tax-related regimes, and localizations. In terms of scalability, it can be rated as eight out of ten.
Our clients are primarily medium and large-sized organizations, focusing on larger organizations.
How are customer service and support?
Infor's technical support is reliable. One can rely on the technical support that Infor provides. I rate Infor's technical support an eight out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
What about the implementation team?
When setting up the solution initially, Infor Implementation Accelerators are available in the cloud version that comes as a bundle. With the Implementation Accelerators, all the default parameters will be set for you, so you have to do nothing except create your own data and start using the application. For the initial setup of the solution, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
For the past seven to eight years, Infor has been offering cloud deployment as an implementation option. Speaking personally, I have experience with both on-premise implementations and cloud deployments. Currently, Infor is actively promoting and encouraging cloud implementations.
After commissioning the license agreement, deployment typically takes around 24 hours. From there, it should only take between 24 to 48 hours for the actual customer to start using the application. During the deployment process, the company selling the product will create a dedicated URL or link for the customer to access the application. It may take around 48 hours for the company to complete the necessary setup and make the application available to the customer if, supposedly, the application is hosted in the cloud and requires multiple functions to be configured.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As a consultant, I am unaware of the price since I am not directly involved in sales. However, based on my experience, I would say that Infor's pricing is competitive compared to other ERP solutions available in the market, such as SAP and Oracle. It is neither the most expensive nor the least expensive option available. Therefore, I would rate Infor's pricing as an eight out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Infor LN, especially for those in the discrete manufacturing industry. From my experience, I believe it is the best and most optimal solution. With Infor LN, one can increase productivity and ROI. Also, the efficiency and effectiveness are great in terms of ROI.
When compared to other applications, Infor LN on the cloud provides alerts. The solution also allows a person to configure the workflows. Artificial intelligence and business intelligence (BI) are also available, along with analytical dashboards as an in-built solution. Apart from Infor LN, and the core ERP solution, all of these features, such as document management as repository analytics, workflows, and alerts, come as a bundle and are built-in. Additionally, the application is easily customizable, and even those with minimal technical skills can easily make changes. Furthermore, several user-friendly features allow users to personalize their screens and reports with minimal training. Owing to the reasons mentioned earlier, I rate this solution an eight out of ten.

ERP Consultant at a university with 51-200 employees
Good pricing, helpful support, and offers a helpful tree view
Pros and Cons
- "The initial setup is easy."
- "It's not that intuitive."
What is our primary use case?
The needs are similar to most companies. However, the thing is that the processes are mainly engineering and customization. They have a lot of intercompany transfers as well. Also, regarding the budget, people look at the budget too and eventually went for Infor LN based on pricing.
What is most valuable?
The pricing is good.
I like the way that you can diagram flows and add layers. It has a tree view that gives you a good idea about all the pieces involved in specific procedures.
It's stable.
The solution scales well.
The initial setup is easy.
Support is responsive and ready to help.
What needs improvement?
It's not that intuitive. Sometimes it can be a bit of a counterintuitive situation, meaning you are expecting to find certain options or parameters in some places, and yet they are not there. You have to go through a whole different path that doesn't make sense.
Their menu is so chaotic it confuses people.
They should ease up on the setup of the roles. They should make it much easier to access that area.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We have never had issues with stability. There aren't bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is a scalable product.
How are customer service and support?
Support was helpful. They always replied on time. They were very professional too.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I'm also familiar with SAP.
The pro of Infor is that it's relatively cheaper than SAP, for instance, or some other major solution. That said, it's also good for engineering companies. It's the new way to manage engineering companies, especially their production side. Engineering production is customized every time. Every time you have customized production so the setup in general, is slightly different from a company that uses, say, SAP, and they're doing production and sales. Here, it's a different kind of business industry, so the processes that they follow and the procedures are different too. Infor LN is good for this kind of work.
Basically, if you compare SAP and Infor LN, SAP is better in some ways, meaning it can handle much more. However, it's not meant for engineering.
How was the initial setup?
In our case, the initial phase was migration. They were changing from one system to another. They were going from a Microsoft-based ERP system, NVision, to Infor. In that case, it's easier to manage since you already have a layout of the procedures and processes and what they should look like. So communicating all that to Infor LN was not that hard. They're set up for that.
The complexity was the menu, which made it difficult.
Its maintenance is not necessarily difficult, however, it depends. If you're a person that is really used to ERP systems, you will find Infor not that hard to use since everything is out there. It's just chaotic. It just needs better organization. In terms of everything else, everything is there. You can even track your session with the session numbers. Even if you don't know how to get somewhere, if you know your session number, you can go to that session directly.
What about the implementation team?
Info helped handle the deployment part of the implementation.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Many clients use the solution based on reasonable pricing.
Packages are licensed on a yearly basis. I didn't close the deal with a client for that, so I'm not 100% sure if that's the case or if there are other options. I just spoke with the consultant. Our clients always made the deal on their end.
What other advice do I have?
We are using the latest version of the solution.
If a company wants to use the solution, it needs to put in the data in the right places. They need to assign the right information to the right places so that they don't have faults when trying to understand the procedures that they're going to try and do on Infor because the information is part of the conditions. Sometimes the conditions needed to move forward with some steps are difficult to figure out.
It's always good to have organized data, so then you can migrate everything and have procedures working according to their conditions.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
