Stellar solution with good stability but the visibility needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "That would be more of engineering at this point. I'm from more of the business side. It's pretty much doing the standard installations with portal integrations and integrations with the Mac."
  • "Improving the visibility, control offered, and cloud management would all be very helpful. Also how you can monetize the information you get from Wi-Fi controllers should be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We mostly use the on-premises version. I believe they don't have a private cloud offering yet on the controller. Either way, it's on-premises that we are using now.

What is most valuable?

That would be more of engineering at this point. I'm from more of the business side. It's pretty much doing the standard installations with portal integrations and integrations with the Mac.

What needs improvement?

Improving the visibility, control offered, and cloud management would all be very helpful. Also how you can monetize the information you get from Wi-Fi controllers should be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using and reselling this solution for almost three years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's pretty stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability depends on which model you are using. It is pretty scalable for an enterprise. We haven't tried it on a cloud model, so I wouldn't know.

We don't have that many users internally. We're mostly using it for some fragments in the innovation center. We mainly use a different solution. We are using it in different fragments of the management department. We don't have a bulk of users there, but as an estimate, you could say 50 to 60 users.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is pretty good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have different vendors we work with. We work with Cisco and Aruba as well.

How was the initial setup?

We do a standard installation unless there's a requirement from the customer to customize it. If there is customization, that can get as complex as it can be in an enterprise environment.

Deployment time varies. There's no standard. A very standard configuration is about a day or two, but that still depends.

We have all sizes of customers.

What other advice do I have?

It's a pretty good solution. The design has to be right. If the design is done properly and the conditions are right, it's a stellar product.

It would probably be a seven or eight out of ten.

A user-friendly that is easy to deploy and offers great support team
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
  • "Price is one of the major problems of the solution, and because of this, our company's customers want to migrate to some other product from Huawei."

What is our primary use case?

My company had deployed the tool for one of the companies operating in the financial sector in the past, and they had no complaints about the product. The past use case of the product showcases its reliability.

Our company currently deals with a customer who wants to switch from Huawei products provided by some vendors, so we are trying to find the closest solution to Huawei.

Our company deals with Huawei Wireless to fulfill our customers' requirements. Customers worry about the prices since products from Huawei are made available in the market at a much higher price than those of its competitors. One of our customers wants to migrate to a cheaper product from Huawei. Even though another vendor approached our company's customers and quoted a different price, they still found it to be a very costly product. Due to our company's customer's request to migrate from Huawei to some other product, our company is forced to look at other products, like Ruckus and Aruba. My company has dealt with the deployment phase of the product.

What needs improvement?

Price is one of the major problems of the solution, and because of this, our company's customers want to migrate to some other product from Huawei. The aforementioned area needs to be considered for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Huawei Wireless.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support offered by Huawei is awesome. I have already worked with Huawei's technical team, and it is great. Though the technical team takes time, they are very prompt to respond. As my company only deals with the technical support offered from China, there are some language barriers our company deals with currently.

I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Against Huawei Wireless, my company considers products like Aruba and Ruckus. H3C is also one of Huawei Wireless's competitors in the local market.

How was the initial setup?

My company receives local support to deal with Huawei Wireless's deployment phase.

What other advice do I have?

Apart from price-related issues, the product is excellent.

Huawei Wireless is user-friendly and easy to deploy, and the support and after-sale support matter. So we are very comfortable with the support.

Huawei has its own research and development team across the globe with a good technical network, cloud, and storage, making its management excellent. Huawei offers a big portfolio.

I rate the overall tool a ten out of ten.
