Tableau has many good features. It is user-friendly, has a simple-to-use interface, and has a customizable dashboard.

When you create new fields in Tableau and you enter the formulas, there is a new small window that is there in the interface. You can enter the calculated fields, it could be more user-friendly. At this time it is limited and hard to understand at the beginning. The fields should be easier to use, such as in Microsoft Excel. You can have a difficult time understanding what to do in the fields, you end up doing trial and error to figure it out.

I have been using Tableau for approximately seven years.

Tableau has a good online community that I used for support hat is very good.

The initial setup of Tableau is relatively simple. For new users of the solution, it is easy for them to grasp. You need to understand how to connect to the Oracle or SQL Server, having knowledge of databases will make the process easier.

The licensing model of Tableau has changed since we initially purchased it three years ago and it is more complicated, and I have found it to be more expensive. They have lost market shares to Microsoft BI. My company will probably change solutions this year because of the increased pricing model.

I have evaluated Microsoft BI.

My advice to others that are wanting to implement this solution is for them to use use the online community. There are many good resources, and examples for implementing solutions. There is plenty of support.

I rate Tableau a nine out of ten.

I use Tableau for the ability to use the sheets/histories, dashboards, and various charts (some with GPS locations). I am also able to publish reports to my own server.

Tableau will automatically show charts for the related data that I choose, making it very easy to use.

In the next release, there should be more information describing each chart because users have a difficult time telling them apart. They should also include the animations/videos, similar to Power BI.

I also think that the trial period should be extended. It is currently only twenty-one days which is a short amount of time to get acquainted with the solution.

We looked at Power BI and realized that would would need some experience to use this solution since it will not automatically pair a chart with the data that it is related to.

We are a consultant, and it is our main product for consultancy.

It is deployed on the cloud as well as on-premises.

It is so easy to do a lot of things. There is a lot of flexibility and creativity in this product. In other products, you don't have this flexibility.

I would like Tableau Prep to be integrated with Tableau Desktop. I would also like more customizations for tables.

Its setup should be simple. It is complex to deploy if you work in a test environment.

I have been using this solution for four years.

It is stable.

It is easy to scale. It is suitable for small, medium, and large enterprise

Their technical support is great.

It is complex. If you work in a test environment, it is complex to deploy. It should be more simple. You need someone who can help you with deployment.

It is reasonable based on what it offers.

I would advise following Tableau Blueprint in your deployment. There are guidelines that will help you.

I would rate it a nine out of 10.

We use the solution for the dashboard and visualization. We are a consultant company with 20 employees.

The solution is deployed on-prem. I am using the latest version.

I like the visualization component. 

The development part should be better. We are putting a lot of effort in during development, so if we face any struggles, we have to find workaround solutions on the internet. It would be nice to have new workaround solutions and other options. Every customer has different expectations, so sometimes it's hard to find the right solution.

I have been using Tableau for 15 years.

It is stable.

The solution is scalable.

The setup is straightforward. It took about a week to install. For deployment and maintenance, we used two team leads.

This license is on a yearly basis.

I would rate this solution 9 out of 10.

We have diverse use cases for Tableau for our clients who come different industries including manufacturing of ornamental stones, clothing and automotives. These clients have been using Tableau for tasks such as tracking leads, finances and stock management.

Tableau makes it easy to build panels. The best use case for us is the solution's integration with Salesforce because we are also partners of Salesforce.

Some of our clients are looking for better UI when using Tableau as they often work with this solution directly. 

The solution could be improved by facilitating integration with data lakes such as Google Cloud Platform. Some of our clients have around 1 billion lines in their tables and usually we need to scale them from MySQL to a Google Cloud Platform.

We have been partners with Tableau for three years and have been using the solution for four years.

This is a scalable solution. We have databases from 1 million to 100 million roles that run very fast.

The initial setup was straightforward. 

Some of our clients have seen a ROI with Tableau within five to six months as they previously had no BI solution in place. 

When presenting Tableau to clients, we show them how Tableau works and how it integrates as a bundle with other partners such as Salesforce. These integrations make the management of data easier. 

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

I am using Tableau and we use it as a business intelligence tool. We plan to move to the cloud soon.

Our compliance team  has not approved some security policies on the cloud. We are working on it and we have moved some of our data warehouses to Redshift already.

The solution has helped out organization improve by providing beneficial team reports.

I have found Tableau easy to use and the features are superb.

I have previously used Amazon QuickSight, and Tableau is easier to use.

One of the biggest drawbacks of Tableau is the price, it is expensive. The price should be reduced.

We use Tableau, to retract, and for visualizing data.

I primarily use it at my company, but I do some implementation as well, with a teammate.

Tableau is used to visualize analyzed data for our customers.

From my perspective, it enables clients to better understand our data and make better decisions based on that information.

I would look at Tableau's security and performance. I take a long time to process the hundreds of thousands or millions of records that must be processed every day. I am hoping that it can be improved very soon.

I have been working with Tableau for the last three years.

Tableau is a stable product.

I would say that the technical support is adequate. We are unsatisfied with the support because every time we have a new problem, it will go to tier 1, and the tier 1 will take several days to reply to us, and then the result is not very satisfying, as we are still stuck with the problem. It is then escalated to tier 2, or sometimes tier 3, which can take about two or three weeks, as an estimated length.

Definitely, technical support could be improved.

In a previous company, I worked with IBM Cognos to focus on data, for instruction saving and loading that data in a very efficient way.

I also use other types of data extraction, such as Vanilla. It's a new software from France that is being used by a number of non-government organizations to restore data.

The initial setup is quite complex.

We completed the setup ourselves.

I recommend that they install it using a virtual machine or Docker first, as they may encounter issues with other projects if they are running on the same server.

I would rate Tableau an eight out of ten.

Data handling, visualizations, and aesthetics of it are the most valuable features.

When compared to Power BI, it is less user-friendly.

The interface needs a major overhaul.

We are working with the latest version.

Tableau is a stable product.

It's a scalable solution.

There is technical support available, but it is not as comprehensive as Power BI, because obviously, it's a Microsoft product, but you can find some useful information. The community is good, but outside the community, help is scarce.

The initial setup is easy.

It is a bit overpriced. They could decrease the price a bit.

When compared to Power BI or Qlik, Tableau is overpriced when you go with creative licenses.

Before implementing Tableau, It would be better if they looked at Power BI instead. They offer everything that Tableau does, but in a much more user-friendly manner, with much more support, and at a lower cost.

I would rate Tableau a seven out of ten.
