The advantages of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator include being a centralized management console, which we possess when managing multiple solutions in Trellix DLP and EPP through the EPO solution.
Automated responses, such as XDR, have significantly impacted our security posture. XDR detects from the telemetry data from the agents, correlates threats, and provides us with detections and threat insights through XDR, allowing us to create playbooks for the response.

The most valuable feature of the solution is the endpoint protection it provides, along with handling the troubleshooting part concerning EPS servers. The tool also helps with the DR plan.
View full review »McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is our general endpoint protection platform. The agent is deployed to all of our endpoints and according to the endpoint's purpose, e.g. industrial or office-like, it is configured properly and is managed centrally. That's quite all there is to explain about that.
The feature that I have found most valuable is its general purpose of protecting our endpoints from infections, malicious files, and all those kinds of things. Also the fact that there are organized policies and policy inheritance. The general management, in fact, nothing particular.
View full review »The policy auditing, policy management, and device auditing are all valuable features. Our customers appreciated the ability to get alerts to system-wide events from a single view.

Regarding malware, it's great at detecting viruses and malware. We haven't had the problem for the last ten years. It just works.
It's pretty simple in terms of managing things on ePO. You have to have some experience, however, it's pretty simple to understand.
The solution is easy to deploy. I have to do the upgrade now from an older version to the latest one, and I'm checking both upgrade and fresh install of the latest version, and it seems pretty easy.
The solution is quite stable. We haven't had any problem since it is installed.
The scalability is great.

Once you understand how to use it, it becomes easy to use.
ENS is one of the features in the product that is useful as it basically services an antivirus solution. The DLP feature in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is good. McAfee Device Control and McAfee Total Protection for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) help users set the category filter, or we can set the classification based on which users can restrict the traffic that goes outside the organization.
Application control and traffic encryption are the most valuable features. The encryption feature includes Drive Encryption and supports a lot of features like antivirus encryption. It consolidates my system.

The MVISION Insights is a good feature because it gives users the ability to see what's out there, which is what our customers are looking for. I know that they are adding ISO application control which is also a good feature.

Easy deployment of agents from console and management of endpoints. The graphical interface of the solution. They have a good log event system. If you're able to trace it in the log, all you need to do is to whitelist the IP when you see a false positive.

I don't use the solution in a technical way, so the technical aspects of the solution I'm not clear on.
The central management console is the solution's most valuable aspect.
View full review »The most valuable feature is the centralized management. From a single dashboard, I can take a look at several things including the endpoint protection, the file integrity section, the data activity monitor, and more.
The dashboard is simple to use.

It is protecting us from USB-based hazards like viruses. Previously it was only for blocking USBs. They have added more features, like network protection.
Originally, we were only using it as a security platform to block USBs and as an antivirus product. But in the last six or seven months, we've been trying to enhance things and use more of the features in it. In that time we implemented data transfer protection, which allows transfer in one direction only. Users can copy from the PC to the USB but not from the USB to the PC. That way, if someone is carrying a virus on a USB, it will not be transferred to the PC.
We also implemented read-only access to the secondary drives, the D drive, C drive, and E drive.
The DLP feature is great to have for our users.
View full review »It allows us to detect rogue devices, then to subsequently force policies on them to protect our system from them.
View full review »I like the following features:
- Centralized virus signatures and patch updates.
- Reports of signature update status.
- HIP management and automatic product deployment.
- Allows virus signatures and VirusScan Enterprise patch updates via McAfee agents installed on the user's PC.
Before this solution, I had to do the following:
- Set up daily virus signatures and product updates on each PC in the office. These are the configurable parameters in the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise application.
- Perform regular spot checks on some PCs to make sure the virus signatures are being updated. As the number of PCs increases, I needed to find a solution to handle this task.
With this solution, all I have to do is install the McAfee Agent on a PC. When the McAfee agent communicates with the ePO server, ePO checks if VirusScan Enterprise is installed on the PC.
If it is not installed, it will start the deployment, patch updates, and virus signature updates. The ePO server is configured to send me a report of virus signature versions and VirusScan Enterprise patch levels of all connected PCs by email on a daily basis. This saves me a lot of my time, as I don’t have to check this information on all PCs manually. I end up with a beautiful report to show my auditor about how the anti-virus software is implemented.
