Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The automatic backup and replication features are invaluable, saving us time and resources by automating routine backup tasks and ensuring data protection without manual intervention.""The ability to create a replica of all virtual machines is a great feature.""This enables us to do quick granular file recovery as and when required but also to do whole-site relocation in the case of a total loss scenario.""Nakivo is an easy-to-use, robust and cost-effective backup solution. I highly recommend it.""I could install and configure the trial version in maybe half an hour and had a successful backup of our file server on the same night.""The interface is basic and very easy to use which is what we are looking for.""Nakivo's reporting features have helped a lot. They give my boss high visibility into what's going on, which is crucial because we had a data breach in the past where we lost about 12 years of data. That's why we bought several appliances, and we replicate the same backup twice a day to three different depositories.""With Nakivo, I have the peace of mind that all of my production environment is safely backed up and can be restored safely, easily, and quickly with a few clicks."

"It is scalable.""It's simple to use.""The ease of use for the graphical interface and the ease of installation are the most valuable features of this solution.""The flexibility and user-friendliness of Veeam make it very IT operations-friendly.""The only thing I really like about it is that you can deploy it from Backup and Replication onto a virtual Linux machine.""It's stable and reliable.""The most valuable feature is the ability to pick up individual files.""The user interface is good."

"Veeam is the gold standard for backup and recovery. The ease of use and reliability of this solution are real assets. Also, it has an ease of use to work with a third party vendor.""The technical support is excellent. It's one of the best I've met so far.""The integration of Veeam Backup Replication is very good.""It has an intuitive interface, and it provides us with successful backups without needing to tweak or do any adjusting. We just set it up and like their ad says, "It Just Works."""Its stability and scalability were the main reasons for going for this solution. It is highly scalable, and its stability is also powerful. It has a friendly interface, and its monitoring and performance are the best in the market.""Its backup capabilities in general are great.""The solution is quite stable.""Veeam Backup & Replication is a great alternative to what is out there. Some of the backups just allow an agent backup to the cloud. You can back up a thousand different ways, but this is a great way to keep a customer and a company in compliance in that they've got their data secure onsite and offsite. The data being transferred to the NAS at the customer's location and also the data being sent to the cloud is encrypted in transit and it's also encrypted at rest so that nobody is going to be able to hack into that. No one will have the keys to do that."

Cons
"I would like to see some additional models in the next release to make backups more functional.""When you schedule some jobs, you should be able to see a list of the jobs contained within each. You have to open up the editor to see what is inside. You must click through and edit stuff. Each time, it asks you to save or discard changes. It's very annoying. You only see the name of the scheduled job, and you need to edit it to see what's it's inside.""It would be helpful to be able to have a custom footprint so that only the required features are installed.""I would like to have the option of creating a subfolder per job in the backup repository because we had an issue where some files were corrupted and we lost the backup of the majority of the VMs.""I need no more valuable features for backs-up. I have not yet tried the latest release, however, I have all the features that I need.""I would love to see compatibility with KVM Backup.""I think it is important to work not only in replicating the virtual machines in Amazon AWS, but in other cloud systems.""For us, it would be best to improve the speed of the backup instead of adding new features."

More NAKIVO Backup & Replication Cons →

"The integration needs improvement.""The price of Veeam Agent for Linux could be reduced.""It has no cloud backup feature. You can't back up anywhere outside of your local network.""In the next version, I would like to see an increase in the locations online. I have found that other products have good pickup location.""The solution is pretty stable right now, however, we believe that the solution could be made to be even more stable.""We are currently waiting for the continuous backup process.""In terms of the physical environment, I'd like them to integrate it with other kinds of solutions. We don't just work with Microsoft or Linux, but other kinds of infrastructure data as well.""It's scalable, but it's not scalable on every platform."

More Veeam Agent for Linux [EOL] Cons →

"The pricing could be improved.""My biggest issue with Veeam at the moment is how the backup reports are displayed. We use the SolarWinds integration to generate consolidated reports for monitoring purposes, but we aren't getting all the available data shown to us in the way that we want.""In the past, Veeam had a host-based license, but now it will be part of Microsoft's core license. I don't like this licensing model. Host-based licensing is better for my system. Maybe so other organizations prefer the core-based.""Veeam is good up until 300 VMs.""We're using both Backup and Replication, Veeam Cloud Connect, and Veeam Office 365. What I am missing is a good graphical user interface between these three products.""The ease of use could be improved, but I don't have a very deep amount of experience in Veeam, so it's difficult to say what could be improved.""One challenge that we have encountered was on the long-term retention of data. Be sure to look into a dedicated deduplication appliance.""The tech support could be better."

      Reviews from Real Users

Veeam Backup & Replication is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are its ease of set up, the fact that it is agentless, and that it has an intuitive dashboard.

A Network Operations Manager at an educational organization says, "Integration with VMware is excellent with very granular recovery."

An Inside Solutions Architect at a tech services company mentions, “I like that it's agent-less, easy to set up, and hardware-agnostic.”

An Account Manager at a tech services company states, “The dashboard is very, very easy to understand. We do demonstrations all the time with customers just to show them. If they've lost particular files because of a server going down, we can retrieve those files for them and quickly bring those files back up.”

Kerem C., Director of Professional Services/Senior Solution Architect/Trainer at a tech services company, explains, “It's good for backup performance management and backup window management.”
