We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The customer success and support teams have been crucial.""The most valuable functionality of the solution for us is that when employees stop working for the municipality, they are automatically disabled in Active Directory. Omada controls that 100 percent. They are disabled for 30 days, and after that time Omada deletes the Active Directory account. The same type of thing happens when we employ a new person. Their information is automatically imported to Omada and they are equipped with the roles and rights so they can do their jobs.""For me, the best feature of Omada Identity is its web interface because it's really easy for users to understand.""It scales in terms of numbers and types of identities. It can govern the on-premise applications as well as the cloud applications. So, it can manage hybrid environments with all types of identities and various load amounts.""We used to have a problem where an employee's access wasn't terminated when they left the company. Now, we have much better visibility into and control over who has access.""The support response time and the freedom from strange bugs and strange things happening in the software are valuable.""The support for the validity of the resources is valuable. The tool allows resource assignments within a validity period so that the managers do not have to remember to revoke the access once the work is done.""The most valuable aspects of Omada Identity for me are the automation capabilities."

"The Verify feature: A push method which customers are going for.""OAuth 2 is now the de facto standard for API protection and scoped authorized delegation. IBM TAM now supports OAuth 2 and can act as fully compliant OAuth 2 authorization server.""SAML 2.0.""Single Sign-On functionality is valuable because the core purpose of the product is to allow universal (or bespoke) SSO for application suites.""The integration effort with the end application is quite straightforward and easy."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pros →

"I like the queries and find the catalog to be comparatively powerful.""You can run reports and verify the access each user has. There is a process that runs automatically for access review. It sends an email to the manager and provides a task for the manager to review the users and access. The manager can approve or reject, and then it goes to the application owner for further review. This feature is especially important in large customer environments, as manual review can be challenging.""NetIQ Identity Governance has improved the security of my company.""This solution has been around for a long time. It has had lots of successful deployments and releases.""I really like the separation of the duties. It is the most ambitious model in the server because you have to create all the different rules, especially business rules. You have to check with the client and set different policies and rules, and then, you to have refine them. You will notice what is bad in the company and where the real problem is.""When doing a review you can either make manual or automatic fulfillment to immediately apply the manager's decision to the system, like removing or adding new permissions to the user account.""We’re very satisfied with technical support. Usually we get people with the right knowledge who understand the solution very well.""All three functionalities, access certification, the configuration of duties, and role mining - especially role mining - are very advanced compared with the competition."

Cons
"When making a process, you should be able to use some coding to do some advanced calculations. The calculations you can currently do are too basic. I would also like some additional script features.""When the re-certification process is launched that makes Omada very slow. There are performance issues in the current version.""Omada could communicate better with us about the product roadmap. We haven't gotten any updates about it. The user interface is often a bit difficult to understand. It isn't optimized for small screens, so it doesn't display all of the information clearly, so users need to scroll a lot.""I would like more training. As someone who is new to this world, I don't feel that the courses Omada provides are good enough. They should also improve the documentation. It is difficult to learn how to use the solution by yourself""Omada's reporting functionality is limited and could benefit from greater customization.""The security permission inside Omada needs improvement. It's tricky to set up.""The architecture of the entire system should also be less complex. The way they process the data is complex.""Improved traceability would be helpful for administrators. For example, let's say a user's permission is being revoked. We can only see the system that has carried out a particular action but not what triggered it. If an event definition or something has changed in the criteria for the permission being removed or something like that, we don't have immediate access to that information. It takes a little detective work."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"Multi-factor authentication with social integration needs to improve.""An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) for the newer appliance versions for hosting the virtual appliances on AWS will help.""The self-service portal needs improvement.""Looking at their roadmap, they have a broad grasp of the security features which the industry needs.""The profiling element is incredibly robust, but also equally as complex, it requires an off-site course to be able to understand the context or the plethora of options available."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Cons →

"Technical support is horrible.""With NetIQ, you have to install two or more products. It would be better if we could install one product and have one server and one dashboard.""They haven't really evolved the product to the cloud, so they don't have a cloud solution.""The product could use more advanced features related to Identity Intelligence.""The solution should provide more connectors in future releases. The solution also should offer more monitoring.""NetIQ Identity Governance is not flexible. Sometimes, filtering information to provide users with options, such as selecting the application to which they want to request access, can be challenging. It needs to improve application integration as well.""The initial setup has room for improvement.""We need more connectors to cloud applications like AWS."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "The IBM prices are, as ever, extortionate, even with a business partnership, and high levels of discounts."
  • More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It's expensive relative to the cloud solutions that are out there."
  • "I give the cost a nine out of ten."
  • "In terms of pricing, the tool seems a bit cheaper compared to other SaaS solutions."
