Pros
"It's user-friendly.""The VPN features are the most valuable.""The solution is quite stable. I haven't had issues with it crashing on me. I don't recall running into any bugs or glitches. It's very reliable so far.""Fortinet FortiGate Cloud is easy to use.""It covers all needs of our customers and works well. It is also easy to deploy and troubleshoot.""One firewall box can contain various top-of-the-line services that are packaged together for easy administration.""I have found centralized administration, cloud UI, and visibility and security on all networks valuable features.""FortiGate Cloud's key features are the user interface and ease of access."

"The product is useful for patch management.""The technical support is good.""SCCM is a stable solution.""With the SCCM inventory, we found a lot of rogue applications. We were able to identify them, find out who was running them, and either put them on our application list or remove them.""Microsoft has done a good job with authentication solutions, such as single sign-on, or open authentication.""Valuable features include configurations enforcement, compliance data gathering, and deployment of a standardized OS.""We're a Microsoft-centric organization, so we are happy with the integration between products.""The most valuable features are Remote Connect, SUP, Cloud functionality, Report, Query, and third-party patching."

Cons
"The interface and dashboards should improve in Fortinet FortiGate Cloud. Other solutions have better graphical interfaces.""Currently with the solution, if you want to manage more than one FortiGate you have to use a VM, and a VM can control up to 10.""It is currently durable, but they may be able to improve it further. They can adapt Cisco technology because of its durability.""Some configuration changes would be helpful.""Everything related to the graphical user interface should be improved.""ACL is an area with shortcomings that needs to be improved.""The SSL visibility could be better.""They're constantly doing maintenance and there are unexpected downtimes for the cloud interface."

"I want the system to provide some dependency relations. I would also like to see the relationship between different machines.""It should provide the ability to remotely connect to mobile devices. There are some solutions that are doing that, but with Microsoft Intune, the only way to remotely connect to devices outside the organization and mobile devices is by using TeamViewer. It is pretty strange for a big company like Microsoft to not have something for that.""It needs to be able to load faster during deployment.""SCCM does not scale well, which is one of the reasons we are not going to continue to use it.""There is no asset management package included.""It is a bit of an old and outdated product.""Marketing: Our management doesn't understand that there is a piece of software which helps them automate and manage the entire network, as far as operating systems on computers.""Cloud-based improvements need to be better managed."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The price is over $1,000 USD annually."
  • "The pricing is mid-ranged, it's not very expensive but it's not the cheapest or most affordable in the market."
  • "The license does not include many of the features that are necessary, which means that you have to pay extra for them."
  • "It is expensive."
  • "The price of the solution is high compare to competitors."
  • "As with us, our customers need not pay for a license. One brings one's own."
  • "When comparing this solution to others it is less expensive and there is an annual license required."
  • "The pricing is competitive."

  • "Pricing and licensing are horrible. You have to not look at dollar value to use SCCM. It's super-duper expensive but it works. The acquisition cost is expensive, it's labor-intensive. But it works."
  • "Pricing and licensing are a downside of SCCM. It's expensive. I'd have to confirm this, but I think they changed the licensing to core-based instead of socket-based. It's not cheap, because you have to buy the software, you have to buy SQL. Another thing we learned from talking to Microsoft is that they provide you a license for SQL if you run it on the same box as the primary server. If you run it outside that box, you have to buy SQL. Microsoft does recommend you running it on the same box because of performance. But then, in order to run SQL, SCCM, and everything on the same box, you better have some resources. It's an expensive solution. There's no doubt about it."
  • "Overall, I think it's fine. It's pretty much in-line because there are ways to offset it with the Office 365 licensing."
  • "SCCM comes with its own version of SQL Server. If you use that SQL Server with SCCM and don't use it for another applications than you get an SQL Server for free."
  • "The licensing is good because they have various options, depending on what you are looking for."
  • "Pricing is negotiable with Microsoft, depending upon which of their packages you choose."
  • "When you compare this solution with other tools in the market you might actually find a lot of variation in the pricing and that's why people opt for the other tools rather than Microsoft tools."
  • "Its price is okay because it is part of our licensing."
