"The most valuable feature is network traffic monitoring.""We are able to do problem determination on runaway processes.""I really enjoy network traffic triggers that allow us to check traffic threshold from ISP.""There is less computing power needed for scaling.""Zabbix is quite stable once it is set up. We haven't had any post-setup issues.""We are able to monitor our virtual infrastructure, virtual machines, windows servers, databases, and the network using a simple network management protocol. Cons
"AppD is really cool and a unified solution for both APM and APM centric Analytics side. We can show almost all business data within the APM context from the end-user perspetive. But this process is a little bit manual. If they catch and map business journeys based on customer interaction on the browser automatically, it should be really fine.""We would like to be able to easily use this solution to monitor our Java script based browsers, which are currently blocked by the security settings.""The interface and user experience could be better.""While I am not expecting it in the next release, I would want more centralized management of the agent in the platform and better support.""I would like to have customizable dashboards to use when I am monitoring certain applications.""If you have a single URL and all the operations are coming in as part of the header, you will not be able to segregate them for different actions.""I would like to see support for mobile testing and mobile monitoring.""The pricing falls within the mid-range category."

More AppDynamics Browser Real-User Monitoring Cons →

"There are some features of Zabbix that are not good for reporting. The DX Spectrum solution has better reporting.""The GUI could be more intuitive. Also, we'd like streaming telemetry. Zabbix might have this feature, but I haven't seen it yet. It took us a long time to get started because the documentation isn't very descriptive. We had to go through various sources like YouTube and forums to get this solution working.""Zabbix isn't very good at automation just yet.""Implementation is always tailored to the customer and the kind of information we need from the client to carry it out can make them very uncomfortable. Sometimes the clients are not ready to share it.""Zabbix isn't a great tool for cloud-specific monitoring - its connection to public clouds needs to be improved. Other areas for improvement would be the lack of dashboards and integrations.""Sometimes, the documentation is a little bit written in Estonia – a country in Europe. The language barrier and translation to English can sometimes make it difficult to understand what they're trying to get at. It's just a language thing.""The performance reporting could be improved.""The System Center Operations Manager can be improved."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
