The cons of Zoho Recruit include the admin learning curve and the time needed to design and govern advanced workflows and blueprints correctly. Some key features, including advanced automations and new integration sites, are only available in higher plans, requiring careful plan selection. The reporting depth can feel limiting for complex analytics, as out-of-the-box analytics need Zoho Analytics for deeper insights. Additionally, resume parsing faces challenges with non-standard CV formats and complex table designs, which can cause mis-parsing and still require review.

At the moment, I do not see any suggestions so far because my requirements for my clients are met, and there is another workaround because I also use Deluge scripting inside Zoho. I am currently happy with Zoho Recruit. It is built-in specifically for recruitment, so if I want to customize some things, that is where Zoho Creator will come into the picture. For now, I am happy using Zoho Recruit because it is user-friendly in terms of UI, and there are no issues from my end.

There is still room for improvement. I rate it seven because of my good experience with Zoho Recruit while implementing my client's requirements. Up until now, they are using it and they are gaining good results. They are not calling me for technical problems, which means it is properly working from their end. For me, I am comfortable with the UI, but if they want to improve it, for example with a design like Canva, then that is something I could suggest. Additionally, integration with AI would be beneficial. I know there is Zia, but it would be good to integrate some AI that is more commonly used such as ChatGPT. Although it will cost to integrate ChatGPT with Zoho, it would be a good outcome.

Candidate filtering is a little cumbersome. I would love to see all the design and effort Zoho put in to the administrative user experience also be applied to the manager experience side. Quite a bit of filtering has to be done to get to what you want. Also, you can't get through many candidates because Zoho Recruit has a cap on how many candidates you can view at a time. If you've got hundreds of candidates per job, you may have to scroll through 10 pages.

It would be great to be able to expand the number or have the ability to customize reports for candidate applications. It would save recruiters and hiring managers so much time. It would great to have an import function to have mass reviews instead of individual candidate reviews. Being able to do very quick reviews and then be able to upload them when there are hundreds of applications would be incredibly user-friendly.

We had a bit of trouble getting the API speed connection. If Zoho is able to have more open source functionality in integrating with other HR or payroll systems, it would be great. Then, we would be able pull all that information much faster instead of depending on the slightly cumbersome API connection.

Also, Zoho was another system for managers to keep track of and navigate when our organization grew from 100 employees to 280 during the early part of 2022. We found that managers would often get lost and wouldn't follow-up in a timely manner. As a result, we ended up moving to Paylocity because it was a one-stop shop.

I would like them to improve their UX and UI. The front screen or the home page is dull. The tools in the marketplace have flashy home pages and a very funky style. I think that's one area that they can improve. 

In the future, I would like an option to integrate Zoho by default with other tools, specifically the HR tools. I would love it if I could convert the candidates directly from Zoho. That would be a huge help. They have a paid extension, but it doesn't work well during the trial period.

Zoho Recruit could benefit from increased flexibility and customization when creating and sending offer letters to new recruits. I would suggest introducing more flexibility into the offer letter process to make it easier to customize and better organized than other processes.

Zoho Recruit could improve in the ease of use because you need to know how to do scripting or coding to receive some of the functionality in the back end. For example, AI and automation need scripting and coding. 

In a future release, it would be a benefit for Zoho Recruit to have a financial module for doing tasks, such as invoicing.

Its automation is currently complicated, and it could be better. The biggest problem is that their instructions, videos, and documentation are terrible. These should be improved.

I would like to see an email tracking feature and an option to find email addresses and leads.

There's a bit of a learning curve. Ultimately, I knew another solution better and I didn't have the bandwidth to learn another completely new system. That said, if I gave myself three weeks to learn it, I probably would have been fine.

It lacks the functionality for finalizing the process when a successful placement is made. There is no invoicing. It is missing the functionality for setting the placement and a start date. 

I do permanent placements as well as contractors, but it is not really geared towards contractors. So, I have to have a separate solution to manage contractors, timesheets, and things like that. It is just a bit of a pain.

It is not as simple as some of the competitors, but it is far more able. There is a lot more to it, and it does a lot more than what any of the competitors currently do, which makes it a little bit more complicated to use, but it is easy enough. None of my staff have any issues.

In all such solutions, you have to feed more than what they give you. It is a database at the end of the day, and I would like it to give me things. I would like to load a lead or get someone to just load leads all day, and I would like it to come back to me and say, "There's this position that you've loaded, and these candidates match. Can I send it?" I'd like it to be a little bit more proactive and feed me as much information as I feed it.

There is a limit to the number of lines you can extract, I think it's about 600 lines. Part of the issue was that we didn't have the documentation on how to deal with that so I had to work it out for myself.

We sometimes get duplicate resumes and that shouldn't happen because it's confusing.  My recommendation would be that Zoho not accept duplicate copies. The source is already in Zoho People or in the portal so why have a duplicate copy. One of the other issues is that we need to manually update details and that's time consuming. With SAP, that's all done automatically, we use the HR and HCM tool which shows all the details for a job; the rate, the duration, everything. But in Zoho it's not so clear and we need to manually upload all these things. If that issue was solved, it would be a great solution.

I would like to see some off-the-shelf reports and better flexibility in designing reports. The pivot chart type reporting available is not only too technical for a common user, but even for a technical user. It is not very useful in the absence of the knowledge and structure of the backend database.
