This is a good solution for a small to medium size company. The backup speed isn't lightening quick.

What is most valuable?

The reverse incremental feature is most valuable to us.

How has it helped my organization?

It is intuitive to use. It was easy to train IT guys how to use it.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see any backup process other than the snapshot backup.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used the solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes if a backup failed, it meant the snapshot was not removed. This could cause the VM to crash when it ran out of snapshot space.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I didn't need it for our environment which had three ESX hosts and 50-60 VMs.

How are customer service and support?

I didn't use the technical support directly, but the guys reporting to me did. I believe they were fairly straightforward.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used a product called vRanger by Quest. They are very similar, but I decided to switch to Veeam after going to a VMware event and seeing that Veeam had become a partner of VMware. This gave me more confidence in their product.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was very simple as it's pretty much a default install.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I see nothing different than what other vendors are doing, which is to price it at "per physical CPU". Just factor that in when looking at cost.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options.

What other advice do I have?

This is a good solution for a small to medium size company. The backup speed isn't lightening quick. However, a lot depends on your environment and what you're backing up to i.e., NAS or SAN.

Pros and Cons
  • "I have found the most valuable feature to be the configuration and ease of use."

Veeam ONE is used to backup environments, virtual environments, monitoring backups, infrastructure, and virtual and physical infrastructure.

Veeam ONE could improve by having capacity planning, intelligent automatization, and ransomware.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veeam ONE for approximately six years.

Reliable, easy and quick to install, with good support and alerting
Pros and Cons
  • "For me, the most important feature is alerting."
  • "There is a lot of information, so maybe the dashboards could consolidate it."

What is our primary use case?

We use Veeam ONE to get a better view of our virtualized environment. To see what is happening there.

What is most valuable?

For me, the most important feature is alerting. I know when something goes wrong, I get an alert.

What needs improvement?

The user interface is quite extended, and sometimes it's difficult to find the right information. Once you know and are familiar with it, it's okay.

The user interface could be simplified. There is a lot of information, so maybe the dashboards could consolidate it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veeam ONE for two or three years.

I recently updated to the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It stays running, so I don't have to put a lot of time there.

I updated recently and it keeps running.

Occasionally, I go to the dashboard to see that there are not many alerts showing. It's stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have a rather small environment so I haven't had to use this feature.

I assume that it is scalable, but I have never tested it.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not used technical support while using Veeam ONE, but for other products from Veeam I have, and I am happy with their support. They are fast, and their response is very good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use Office 365, Veeam Cloud Connect, and Veeam ONE in my Data Center.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup and installation were very straightforward.

It took less than an hour to deploy.

What about the implementation team?

I completed the deployment and implemented it myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a license combined with my other Veeam licenses.

For what it does, the price is acceptable.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend using Veeam ONE. I see more positive things than negative ones.

I would rate Veeam ONE an eight out of ten.

If you are in a virtualized environment, there is nothing better than Veeam One but the alerts need better descriptions.

What is most valuable?

I really like the reporting. You can build your own reports and schedule to send them any time. I also like the fact that alerts are resolved automatically if there is no longer an issue.

How has it helped my organization?

From a storage prospective we were getting alerts when the Hyper V LUNS reached the threshold and we were able to fix the space issue before something worse happened.

No more surprises about our Hyper-V environment, storage.

What needs improvement?

Better description of the problems as the alerts are missing good descriptions. Sometimes you need to spend extra time to Google the error because the information from the alerts is not clear enough.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used it for two years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Deployment is very simple, the installation wizard is very easy and then it is just simply adding whatever you want to monitor.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I don't have any stability issues.

How are customer service and technical support?

I need to give them 10/10. All the cases are resolved in the time they give.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used PRTG but we were getting a lot of false positives.

What other advice do I have?

If you are using a virtualized environment, there is nothing better than Veeam Backup and Veeam One.

If you deploy Veeam Backup and Veeam One, you will sleep much better.

I've been using it alongside Veeam Backup and Replication four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

No issues encountered.

I implemented it myself.

What was our ROI?

I think almost 80%.

It is just the license cost. and after that there is no cost except for support maintenance.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes we did.

It is a nice product.

Stable solution for IT monitoring and planning
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature that we have found most valuable is its traffic plan. The traffic plan is very good."
  • "Veeam ONE could be improved if it had a better data recovery feature."

What is our primary use case?

We use Veeam ONE to monitor availability and for VM traffic and account system management.

What is most valuable?

The feature that we have found most valuable is its traffic plan. The traffic plan is very good.

Also the software manager is very good.

What needs improvement?

To make it a better solution they could improve the business feature and the camera.

When we have a problem, we want to use the best feature. We would like to see a better solution for when your software has crashed for a minute or you can't open your software. We would like a better solution to recover your software.

Overall, Veeam ONE could be improved if it had a better data recovery feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Veeam ONE for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good, we didn't see any bugs here.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of the scalability, it is good.

We have three people using the solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

We have not had any contact with customer service yet.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was okay.

What about the implementation team?

I set everything up myself.

What other advice do I have?

Veeam ONE is a good solution that anyone can use.

On a scale of one to ten I would rate Veeam ONE an eight. If it was easier to use and understand and more reliable it would be a 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
