Centralized controls have reduced mobile data costs and improved oversight of user devices
Pros and Cons
  • "IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has had a positive impact on my organization through mobile data cost savings."
  • "IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson could be improved because I noticed that the internet cycle for mobile data lasted the whole month, whereas without this software, it lasted less than a month's cycle, usually around 15 days before users' mobile data ran out."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is controlling my company's devices, controlling users, what they can access, and what they can download, as well as controlling mobile data.

A quick, specific example of how this device and mobile data control helped my team in day-to-day work is that since there were many devices, we had no idea what was being used or how our data was being spent. With IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, we were able to optimize and understand what was being spent and managed to save money.

Regarding this use case or any other benefit I noticed in the control of the devices, there is nothing else to add.

What is most valuable?

The best features that IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers include being able to control what is going to be installed in the app and what can and cannot be installed, as well as the external management capability.

Regarding the external management, I can explain that it is the ability to install apps and remove apps from a group of users from my computer, regardless of where they are.

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has had a positive impact on my organization through mobile data cost savings. This generated data that was limited per device, creating savings because users did not use it for non-work-related activities.

To elaborate more on this savings, we were able to measure the cost reduction at the beginning.

What needs improvement?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson could be improved because I noticed that the internet cycle for mobile data lasted the whole month, whereas without this software, it lasted less than a month's cycle, usually around 15 days before users' mobile data ran out.

I would add that there is nothing else about the necessary improvements or any point that could be refined on the platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for two years.

AI-driven security has boosted threat detection and reduces incident response time
Pros and Cons
  • "IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has improved threat detection, reduced response time, and increased overall security team efficiency in my organization."
  • "To improve IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I would like to see easier setup, simpler customization, and even better false positive reduction."

What is our primary use case?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson's main use case for my organization is cybersecurity threat detection and response. It helps us monitor security events, detect threats, investigate incidents, and respond to cybersecurity challenges.

A specific example of how I've used IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for threat detection and incident response occurred when QRadar detected a suspicious privileged account. It helped us investigate and contain the compromised account quickly, which represented a smarter response.

Besides threat detection and incident response, I use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for continuous security monitoring, log analysis, threat hunting, and compliance reporting. It helps to centralize security data.

What is most valuable?

The best features IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers are AI-powered alert triage, automated threat investigation, SIEM collaboration and SOAR automations, threat intelligence integrations, and user behavior analytics. These features help the security team detect threats faster, reduce false positives, and respond to incidents more effectively.

The biggest hidden benefit of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is how much time it saves through event correlation and automation, not just threat detection.

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has improved threat detection, reduced response time, and increased overall security team efficiency in my organization.

What needs improvement?

To improve IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I would like to see easier setup, simpler customization, and even better false positive reduction.

Better cloud integrations for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson would be another needed improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for the last two years.

How was the initial setup?

My advice to others looking into using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson would be to invest time in proper planning and tuning during the initial setup. The platform is very powerful, but it delivers the most value when your sources are well-integrated and your use cases are clearly defined. Focus on a good setup.

What was our ROI?

Organizations typically see a strong return on investment with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson through improved analyst efficiency and reduced incident response time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is that it's enterprise-grade and relatively expensive with a complex license based on data volume, but it offers strong security value in return.

What other advice do I have?

We use Microsoft Azure as the cloud provider for our hybrid deployment of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.

Regarding IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson's AI capabilities, it has strong access control and auditability, but could improve transparency and customization of AI decisions.

The AI capabilities of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson are generally accurate and reliable, especially when it comes to correlating events and prioritizing alerts. It's reliable for alerts and prioritization, but accuracy depends on the data quality and tuning, with some false positives.

We have reduced investigation and response time by approximately thirty to fifty percent with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson and improved analyst efficiency by cutting down on false positives. I would rate this product an eight out of ten.

Unified endpoint policies have secured mobile data and prevent insider threats across devices
Pros and Cons
  • "IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson includes both basic and advanced capabilities of a complete MDM or UEM solution and allows for policy customization to optimize results."

What is our primary use case?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is primarily used by clients to block data sharing on employees' mobile phones because confidential company data is stored on these devices, and companies want to restrict sharing, screenshots, and recording. The overall goal is to block any data sharing and prevent insider threats, with companies typically preferring a cloud-based solution that manages all mobile devices, laptops, and endpoints.

A specific example of how clients use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to block data sharing or prevent insider threats involves the use of policies within IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson. By simply enabling these policies on a mobile device, clients can effectively block data sharing.

Clients also use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson as an endpoint management solution, which integrates and enrolls with Windows systems as well as other platforms beyond just Android and iOS, allowing patch management and a comprehensive unified endpoint management system. It has a vast array of use cases, including screenshot blocking, geolocation, and more, along with customization and integration with third-party platforms such as SIEM and ServiceNow, making it a complete solution backed by IBM.

    What is most valuable?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers several best features, including the separation of work and personal profiles, which ensures that work-related information such as emails and documents is contained within a work profile, while personal data remains private, preventing any overlap. Additionally, it provides granular monitoring capabilities that block and restrict numerous activities, and a partnership with TeamViewer for quick remote access. There is also the remote wipe feature, which allows me to erase data from any device remotely when necessary.

While all the features are equally important, the separation of work and personal profiles stands out because many organizations do not provide mobile phones when employees start, leading to the BYOD (bring your own device) method. This ensures that company data is kept separate and secure within its own container.

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson includes both basic and advanced capabilities of a complete MDM or UEM solution and allows for policy customization to optimize results. IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson positively impacts my organization, especially across various sectors such as finance, telecom, and healthcare, with numerous client success stories showcasing their satisfaction with the solution I have implemented.

    What needs improvement?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson can be improved by allowing more customization in the policies, as there are some limitations to deep customization. While the solution is robust and comprehensive, slightly enhanced customization options would further benefit users.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Although IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is not primarily used for output, its accuracy and reliability regarding data restriction and policy enforcement are excellent, as it operates in real-time without delays.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is easily scalable; regardless of how many users or devices need to be enrolled, I can simply specify the requirements and purchase additional licenses as necessary.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is one of the best, offering 24/7 assistance, and they effectively resolve issues in real-time.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before working with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.

Before choosing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I evaluated other options, including Samsung Knox and Microsoft Intune. However, both solutions had issues, with Samsung Knox favoring Samsung devices and lacking functionality for iOS, while Microsoft Intune was less effective for iOS and quite expensive compared to IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, which provides greater value.

    What was our ROI?

Specific outcomes and metrics that show how IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has helped my clients include reduced data leaks, improved compliance, and significant time savings in managing devices. Clients report that they now effectively manage employees, block and restrict data sharing, and monitor unauthorized activities on devices, which increases their overall visibility and security.

Centralized mobile containers have protected corporate data and prevent unauthorized access
    Pros and Cons
    • "IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted my organization by being able to protect mobile devices."
    • "My experience with the technical support of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has not been very good."

What is our primary use case?

I use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson primarily as an MDM solution on mobile devices in my organization. A concrete example of how I use this tool as an MDM on mobile devices is using corporate devices to access applications that connect to our internal networks through the IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson module that allows access to our corporate network.

    What is most valuable?

I consider the best features offered by IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to be the fact that all secure applications are contained in a container, and that when a user's device might have been compromised or the user left the company, I could directly delete the container and remove all corporate applications and configurations.

Regarding the secure container feature and the ease of deleting corporate information, I found it quite simple to manage on a day-to-day basis; the tool is quite intuitive. Once I manage to group the devices, I then apply policies to each group and it is easy to manage. IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted my organization by being able to protect mobile devices. The protection of mobile devices has improved as we did not have many security problems, but we wanted to prevent them because these devices are normally used within the workplace and are not taken outside. Since we are a public organization and users do not take the devices outside, we do not have the risk of them being lost or stolen, but we wanted to make sure that they did not fall into anyone's hands and could compromise corporate information.

    What needs improvement?

I think IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson could be improved in some areas; I found that the connector did not have the speed it should. I do not have anything else regarding possible necessary improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for about 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I consider IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to be a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would describe the scalability of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson as adaptable, as we ended up having about 300 or 400 devices and I understand that there would be no problem if we had increased the number of devices.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with the technical support of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has not been very good. We did not have major complications in management, but when we had to deal with some problems, I had some difficulty until I managed to find a person who really knew the tool, a person who was in Ireland, but the rest of the support was not very easy.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use any other solution for mobile device management prior to IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson; it has been the first.

    How was the initial setup?

I did not handle the costs, initial setup, or licensing of IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson. I did not manage the cost side; they renewed the licenses, but I do not know the price or that aspect.

    What was our ROI?

I have not seen any return on investment from implementing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, as those of us who administered it still needed to administer it afterward; management became easier, but it did not mean any staff reduction or return on investment. I do not know that figure.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I considered MobileIron as an option in the market, but we ultimately chose IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to other companies considering implementing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is to be clear that the matter of containers is not something that currently aligns with how vendors are distributing applications or managing their configurations, so perhaps the issue of containers needs to be reconsidered. I gave this product a rating of 8.

How are customer service and support?

I would describe the customer support experience with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson as positive because they were always available.

What other advice do I have?
