F5 Silverline Managed Services is our main solution for protecting our application from DDoS attacks and providing web application firewall services to our enterprise network.

A specific example of how we have used F5 Silverline Managed Services in a real-world scenario involves a customer who has internet-facing applications with a global presence. We created a solution to protect their public assets and public websites against malware, ransomware, and denial of service attacks by deploying and routing all the traffic of their web application via F5 Silverline Managed Services.

We also use the WAF services of F5 Silverline Managed Services, wherein we perform an HTTPS redirect of our public application through a WAF proxy. This helps to provide security and defend against the top 10 threats, including zero-day vulnerabilities, using advanced policy management.

Working with F5 Silverline Managed Services provides similar functionalities to Radware, having multiple tools like DNS, DDoS, LTM, and other capabilities. LTM is for the ADC and F5 Silverline Managed Services WAF as well, but it is very simple.

I previously worked with Radware. Currently, I work with F5 technology.

I am currently working with F5 technologies including the ADC tool and application delivery tools, focusing on load balancing, application firewall, DNS, and SSLo. There are multiple tools and technologies, each having their modules. All operating systems are the same but license-based, distributing the service.

F5 Silverline Managed Services is globally recognized, and most companies are using F5 tools for application delivery, firewall, and application firewall, similar to Radware. Another tool that is in demand is SSLo, which distributes the service and manages SSL offloading tasks. This is beneficial.

My main use case for F5 Silverline Managed Services is securing the public facing web application against DDoS attacks as well as OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

A specific example of how I use F5 Silverline Managed Services to protect my web application involves deploying it in our environment, where the SOC team recommends blocking malicious traffic, and based on that recommendation, we are blocking critical vulnerabilities, fixing them, and identifying them.

F5 Silverline Managed Services has been used to ensure business continuity and protect customer-facing applications from downtime and security breaches. During a volumetric DDoS attack on an e-commerce portal in my company that occurred during a seasonal sales event, F5 Silverline Managed Services performed very well. Normally, this kind of traffic spike would overwhelm the service and cause downtime, but F5 Silverline Managed Services kept the customer-facing application online even under heavy attack traffic.

We are using this product for a major airline whose traffic is routed via F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall. All B2C sites are behind F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall. The data part is basically to Akamai for CDNs and to F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall for WAF capability. The resources are hosted on AWS or Azure. For parameters, we have another F5 AWAS module, which intercepts the traffic once it is inside the cloud parameters, and then the data goes to the backend application pool. Every B2C traffic gets inspected on F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall. Every HTTP profile is inspected on the Advanced WAF module, which is again F5 on-premises.

We are also deploying this solution for another client in the Middle East. We're basically deploying the architecture. We have F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall and the Check Point firewall as the next-generation firewalls. All HTTP traffic is via F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall, and it is routed back to the Check Point firewall for IPS and malware inspection because F5 Silverline Web Application Firewall does not do that. Non-HTTP profiles go via the Check Point firewall.
