We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product is good functionality-wise. I am impressed with the tool's flexibility in customization.""It's very stable. If you ask me for the success rate metrics, it's more than 90% for both.""It has reduced the time taken to go to market. In the past, we were struggling with building these integrations, but now the process has sped up and there is an added advantage of quick delivery. In addition, it is an agent-less solution, which provides more flexibility in terms of multiple options."

"There are a lot of frameworks in the product. I use Pega PRPC the most.""The most valuable feature is flexibility, as we can configure it to best suit our requirements.""The user interface and the ease of developing the workflow for an application are valuable features.""Allowed us to develop and quickly release with confidence using cloud technologies.""It is a stable product.""It cuts down the time taken for coding. Earlier it used take for us four hours to do a particular code. Now this can be done in less than 30 minutes. That's the kind of productivity gains you can get.""The solution's most valuable feature is its quick setup. Nowhere else you can create a good-looking application this quick. It's a fairly robust system.""In general, we use web services to integrate this solution with our other tools. It is the main approach we use with this solution and it integrates with all tools that we need. If you want to integrate with other solutions such ThreatFire or similar, it is possible as well."

Cons
"There were a lot of scalability issues that we initially faced. Whenever I tried to deploy 100-200 endpoints, it became a huge challenge. We had to actually start using other tools like Tivoli Endpoint Management in order to patch the issues.""The tool's UI needs to be improved. It needs to have better administration features in future releases.""The price is an area that should be addressed because the price is high."

More OpenText Operations Orchestration Cons →

"There is a scarcity of resources who have worked with this solution before.""The local development approach is good in Pega, however, cost-wise, it's getting expensive. That needs to be addressed.""It is scalable, but it also interacts with a lot of other systems. I think they thought that the interface to other systems, legacy systems, was its strength, but when problems do occur, quickly diagnosing those problems has been a challenge.""There are some UX shortcomings within the solution. However, it's my understanding that they have addressed them and in the next three months they will come out with a new updated version. They will be moving away from HTML5.""Pega currently is trying to add chatbots to their systems, and it's still quite immature. This part definitely needs to be improved.""The solution could be more scalable.""It's called a local platform but on the other hand, it needs a lot of experience. It's not all that easy to click and plug and play. If you really want to use all the features out of this platform, you definitely need a lot of experience and a lot of training to get there.""I would like to see Pega BPM improve the user experience."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I do not have experience with the pricing or licensing of the product."
  • "The cost is very high compared to anything else available."
  • More OpenText Operations Orchestration Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Licensing is expensive. You need to wisely select between per user and per case."
  • "They have both on-premise and cloud licensing. If you are a small to medium company, go for the cloud option because that eliminates a lot of the setting up of your DevTest and performance environments, multiple environments, because you can buy that from Pega with the cloud option. So your setup time really goes down. If you're a large company, then you're better off putting it within your company. You have other skill resources within your company to create environments."
  • "They need to come up with licensing options. Right now they do have a cloud-based option, but the cloud prices I've seen are much more expensive compared to competing products."
  • "The licensing fees are based on the number of users."
  • "May be somewhat more expensive than other solutions initially, but should have enhanced return on investment."
  • "The price of this solution, including installation and configuration, is comparable to competing vendors."
  • "The pricing is pretty good, compared to other similar products."
  • "It's a user-based license where, as you scale the numbers of users, the price increases."
