We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"My rating of Pure Storage is a ten out of ten because of the price for performance and footprint - the overall value.""Our storage phones home. It is smart and intelligent in that aspect, which has been huge for us. We don't have to be storage administrators.""The tool is simple and easy to use. It has neat features like protection from device removal. Moreover, you can undo the deletes. The solution is easy to work with and not as complicated as CAC""We've had different types of storage, and three things of this solution are valuable. The first one is its outstanding performance. The second one is its stability. In the about three years that we've had it, we've had component failures, but we never had a service interruption or any data loss. The third one, which is really critical, is that it is super easy to use in terms of provisioning, storage, and managing the arrays. I'm able to maintain a multi-site environment with a couple of dozen arrays with a single mid-level storage admin.""The most valuable features are the replication of data and the continuous snapshot that we can take from the disc.""One of the features that my customers are really interested in is immutable snapshots. There are immutable snapshots to which your applications can be reverted back if you are hit by some kind of ransomware threat or malicious attack. That's kind of a key deal, and it is one of the selling points I use to point out to my customers the value and the features that Pure Storage brings to the table.""I use all the features of this solution and I find them to be easy to use and functional, such as the compression and capacity to expand.""The speed is the most valuable feature of this solution."

"Implementation of the solution is very simple.""Logic/software management""Scale out is a differentiator for them, especially in the enterprise market. It's key for a lot of customers.""It provides a full feature set without separate licensing (deduplication, compression, snapshot, asynchronous replication, stable performance, etc.).""The speed and, for us in particular in what we're doing, the data de-duplication.""Built-in snapshot support gives us SAN-side functionality most other platforms would have had us license separately.""The ratio between the physical storage and the storage we use is very high.""Data reduction and snapshot abilities: Smaller footprint in the datacenter (lower cost for power, cooling, etc.)."

More Kaminario K2 [EOL] Pros →

"The solution is very easy to set up.""We have been working with the solution for around a year and so far it has shown itself to be stable.""This solution is good for virtualization and meets the need for CPU and RAM requirements.""The solution is very easy to troubleshoot. It's one of the most valuable features. It also doesn't take long to deploy and normally it comes with a three-year warranty.""Its initial setup process is easy.""Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series is simple to use""Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series is quite an elementary box, no frills. It does not have all the functionality of the DM but it is acceptable, it does its task. It integrates pretty well.""The most valuable features of the Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series are the dual controllers, available installation documentation, and the option of multiple host bus adapter interfaces."

Cons
"The number of Filesystems is limited, which it is not on the EMC VNX.""I would like to see them develop the ability to integrate with more AWS services. There are increasingly more and more services coming out from AWS but there are also certain constraints where we can't move everything over to a cloud as well. We would like for things that are on-premise to be easily integrated with AWS.""The price of Pure Storage FlashArray could be better.""I would like some form of QoS implemented. As a service provider, it would be beneficial to have it.""We would like to see more cloud support, which we know is coming, although it's not out yet. It's going to be released in the next versions. That would be the biggest win, if additional cloud support is built into the array.""I would rate this solution an eight. To make it a ten it would have to be a little cheaper.""The only time that we had problems with it was that there was a bug in the VVol implementation but, outside of that, it has been flawless.""We would like to integrate it more with our backup solutions."

More Pure Storage FlashArray Cons →

"I think it should have better performance with small files. With big data, its performance is top notch, but it is difficult to load small files.""A single pane of glass to monitor/manage multiple arrays would be helpful.""I'm hoping to see Active Directory integration. Right now, you still have to use a local admin account to log in and manage everything.""The management graphical interface needs more improvement.""Some of the nice to haves for us, in terms of today, would be VVols but again, it’s not a critical feature.""I would like them to improve the look of the product’s external casing and shelves.""I would like to see LDAP for the management panel; I've been notified they might be currently working on it.""The system currently has a 15TB LUN size limit and that snapshots need to be scheduled through script API instead of the GUI."

More Kaminario K2 [EOL] Cons →

"Its performance could be faster.""ThinkSystem could be better integrated with backup software like Commvault, Veritas, or Symantec.""It would be useful to have structured solutions replicated to other sites.""Improvements can be made to the product's performance.""The solution could be more scalable, although it suits our present needs.""In the next release, I would like to see more functionality. But, again, it is an entry-level product.""The difficult part comes when dealing with the host. You have to enable multi-pathing and other aspects that are needed for proper configuration. I don't know if there is room for a more hyper-conversion structure to work with, but this would be easier.""The features are limited."

    Overview

Pure Storage FlashArray is the world’s first enterprise-class storage array that runs exclusively on the nonvolatile memory express (NVMe) protocol for memory access and storage. It represents a totally state-of-the-art type of storage technology. It offers users shared accelerated storage that delivers cutting-edge features in the realms of performance, simplicity, and consolidation. Pure Storage is fresh and modern today and will be for the next decade. Without forklift upgrades or planned downtime, Pure Storage takes the work out of storage ownership and delivers unprecedented customer satisfaction.

Pure Storage FlashArray is built with simplicity and reliability in mind. The solution can be implemented and optimized in hours, as opposed to other similar solutions that can take days. It has no moving parts, which removes areas where it could potentially be vulnerable to suffering errors. It is highly stable and gives users the ability to manage system shutdowns in a way that  prevents data loss.

    Benefits of Pure Storage FlashArray

Some of the benefits of using Pure Storage FlashArray include:

    • A much higher level of speed than similar pieces of technology. Pure Storage FlashArray maximizes the speed at which data can be transferred while at the same time minimizing system latencies that might slow the transfer down. Additionally, it offers users quick memory read and data access speeds.

    • A higher bang for your buck in terms of the storage capabilities you get for the money you pay. They are smaller in size than more standard storage technologies, but they offer flash memory, which enables users to store larger amounts of data than the current standard.

    Reviews from Real Users

Pure Storage FlashArray is a highly effective piece of storage technology which stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its overall robustness and the value that it offers by way of its reliability and ease of use. It provides users with many valuable features that allow them to maximize what they can do with this solution. Pure Storage FlashArray’s reliability and ease of use make it a highly valuable solution.

PeerSpot user Prabakaran K., a technical consultant at Injazat Data Systems, notes the robustness of this solution when he writes, "FlashArray has many valuable features. It's very user-friendly and it has high availability, so there is comparatively less downtime. During maintenance, there is no shutdown procedure, so you can directly power off the Array and manage the shutdown process without any data loss, which is a unique feature. Managing replication and data migration is also very easy."

PeerSpot user Jason D., a cloud solutions architect at a tech services company, notes three features that make this solution valuable when he writes, "We've had different types of storage, and three things of this solution are valuable. The first one is its outstanding performance. The second one is its stability. In the about three years that we've had it, we've had component failures, but we never had a service interruption or any data loss. The third one, which is really critical, is that it is super easy to use in terms of provisioning, storage, and managing the arrays. I'm able to maintain a multi-site environment with a couple of dozen arrays with a single mid-level storage admin."

Kaminario K2 is the world’s only storage solution that delivers the predictability needed to handle the highly unpredictable world of modern businesses. This highly flexible all flash storage platform allows customers to cost-effectively scale capacity and performance to support their ever-changing business –seamlessly, on-demand and with no disruptions.
