We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Easy restoration and the solution works quickly.""The standard backup and restore feature is most used.""It is a very stable solution...It is a scalable solution.""I would recommend it if there is a general case.""The ease of use is the best feature of the product.""This product is extremely user-friendly and it is capable of performing large-scale archive/backup (five+ years worth). It is easy to store, maintain, and check backups.""The backup is the most valuable feature. It also makes storage very easy.""The data protection functionality is the most valuable feature of this solution."

"The most valuable feature is the snapshot capability.""This solution works really well and it is simple to deploy.""The most valuable quality of Veeam Cloud Connect is its reliability.""The stability and restore options on the solution are very good.""In my opinion, the console or dashboard is the most valuable feature of this solution.""the interface is the most valuable feature and for the client it's security.""I've found flexibility to the most valuable feature. I also like that it's scalable and that the stability is okay.""The deployment is quite simple. Users are generally happy because of the familiarity they have with the features. Cons
"The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial.""One of the biggest drawbacks of Arcserve UDP is that it does not have a single console, making it an area that needs to be considered for improvement.""Licensing is an area that needs improvement.""Based on my experience, whenever we need support, there are difficulties with communication when trying to resolve the issue.""Licensing can be quite difficult.""The solution can improve by allowing older versions to support the latest version of the OS.""We are looking at scaling up to the cloud and using immutable copies on the cloud. Arcserve UDP 8.0 does have the immutable feature supporting AWS, but I'm looking for multi-cloud support. So, I'm waiting for Arcserve to release that in the next release.""The solution's reporting could be improved and should provide customized reports."

More Arcserve UDP Cons →

"We were interested in investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in VMware. VMware right now is one of the biggest solutions in the world, in terms of the IT environment. But for Cloud Connect it's not. I think they need the cloud version to reach more customers, to enable the cloud version to be used by more people.""Pricing could be improved and I also think archiving could be improved.""The security of encrypted data could be better.""If a customer has a low budget, Veeam may be too expensive.""The bandwidth optimization needs to be improved and have better efficiency so that you send fewer amounts of data from one site to the other.""The solution needs to be more scalable. There should be no reason to set up Veeam Cloud Connect and have 10 servers in order to have a cloud backup. The initial setup could be easier.""The solution could improve the stability.""It would be helpful if the enterprise edition was more complete. It's not as complete as the enterprise plus edition is. For instance, in the enterprise version, we can only use one accelerator with the cloud provider. It means if I have my Cloud Connect, I cannot connect another site of mine with another cloud connect and use an accelerator of Veeam. They should change this."

  • "There is an annual license required for this solution and it is priced well."

    Overview
Arcserve UDP is a comprehensive solution that empowers even a one-person IT department to protect virtual and physical environments with a high degree of simplicity. It allows you to design and manage your entire data protection strategy with a unified management console, and enables you to scale your data backup coverage as your organization grows with the push of a button.

Veeam Cloud Connect for the Enterprise enables businesses to act as a disaster recover (DR) service provider to deliver off-site backup and replication services to internal customers. This eliminates complexity by removing the need to maintain a VPN connection and it improves security by encapsulating all backup and management traffic into a single port.
