Improved coverage and multi-gig connectivity have boosted reliable high-speed access for users
Pros and Cons
  • "Wi-Fi 7 and WPA3 connectivity has made a difference for my organization as it allows for better and faster connectivity."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is deployment in different areas, such as sites. Some are installed in a stadium, some in rec centers, and some in an office environment.

The main use case for Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is that we need to increase the bandwidth and provide better connectivity with the newer technology using WPA3 and Wi-Fi 7.

How has it helped my organization?

Wi-Fi 7 and WPA3 connectivity has made a difference for my organization as it allows for better and faster connectivity. The multi-gig network allows a five gig uplink from the access point back to the switch, which provides more bandwidth for the user.

Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points has positively impacted my organization by providing better coverage, resulting in fewer coverage issues.

Improved coverage has impacted my users by resulting in fewer coverage area drops and fewer complaints from the end users.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points offers include Wi-Fi 7 and WPA3 connectivity with multi-gig network connectivity.

    What needs improvement?

At this moment, I am not able to find any deficiency that needs to be addressed regarding Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points.

I would like to see a Cisco embedded wireless controller on these access points enabled, so we can take advantage of these APs where there are no controllers available on-site.

How are customer service and support?

We have opened up multiple TAC access cases with Cisco, and we were able to get on-time support from them.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we used a different solution, which was the older generation APs, including Cisco 3800, 2800, 2700, and 3700 models.

Reliable wireless access has supported remote management and streamlined daily connectivity
    Pros and Cons
    • "What I appreciate about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is the convenience to operate them and install them across locations remotely or on-premise."
    • "Apart from that, the security measures of Cisco have not provided us with great help in reducing network vulnerabilities."

What is our primary use case?

I use Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points for Wi-Fi connectivity for our laptops and mobiles. Currently, we do not have any IoT applications; we just use Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points for user Wi-Fi connectivity.

    What is most valuable?

What I appreciate about Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points is the convenience to operate them and install them across locations remotely or on-premise.

    What needs improvement?

From Cisco DNA, we are not able to identify deep troubleshooting for the wireless network; we are doing the troubleshooting from the wireless controller itself.

We are not able to utilize the AI-driven analytics in Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points because of our company's policy; we are not able to integrate Cisco cloud AI.

Sometimes there are disconnections that happen with user laptops. When we want to troubleshoot, the more advanced features that are cloud-generated by the AI would be helpful if we could use them at a minimalist level at the on-premise device.

We are following up on the DNA suggestions of the OS upgradation. Apart from that, the security measures of Cisco have not provided us with great help in reducing network vulnerabilities.

There are no missing features that I would like to see included in it in the future or enhanced in it.

I evaluate customer service and technical support as excellent. On a scale of one to ten, that would definitely be a ten for the tech support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

From the start, we have been using Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points, so there are no additional improvements we are observing.

    How was the initial setup?

In WLC, the initial setup is a little bit complex compared to the older versions of the WLC.

    What about the implementation team?

We consulted a consultant for the deployment process of Cisco Wireless 9100 Access Points.
