How are customer service and support?

We've never dealt with Cisco technical support. I cannot speak from direct experience about how helpful or responsive they are.

We are in Iran. We are unable to take advantage of technical support due to sanctions.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Fortigate solutions in the past as well. It's pretty reasonably priced and economical, which is why we used it.

How was the initial setup?

I found that the initial setup process was a bit complex. It wasn't exactly simple or straightforward.

The deployment has been ongoing. The initial setup was about two months ago and we're continuing to develop and deploy this solution.

We have four people that are capable of handling deployment and maintenance tasks.

What about the implementation team?

We used a consultant that assisted us with the implementation process.

What was our ROI?

I'm not sure if we've really seen any ROI at this time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a permanent license. there aren't set times in which we have to re-subscribe to the solution in order to keep using it. There aren't any other additional costs either.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We compared so many options and we decided, due to the features, that we could take advantage of this product and therefore selected this one.

What other advice do I have?

We're just a customer and an end-user. We don't have a business relationship with Cisco.

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

The most valuable feature of this solution is the intrusion prevention system.

It's a pretty stable product.

We also use Fortinet products.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is midway complex and straightforward.

The deployment in a large environment took a week approximately.

We have a team of two staff members to maintain and deploy this solution.

Great data protection and easy access to good technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "The applied policy inside the firewall is good."
  • "The IOS and the deploy option could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to protect our servers.

What is most valuable?

The firewall itself is valuable as is the applied policy inside the firewall. All companies are looking to protect their data centers from unapproved access or server misuse and this product works.

What needs improvement?

I think the IOS and the deploy option could be improved. They should also consider working on the batteries. It's not helpful most of the time. Cisco's competitors have more features and they give more thought to their solutions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of this product is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, if I need to add users or add licenses, it's flexible.

How are customer service and technical support?

Cisco technical support is good. Let's just say that the support is very helpful. Maybe the most helpful support in the network.

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment was quite complicated and I believe it could be simplified.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Cisco products are generally quite expensive.

What other advice do I have?

From my perspective, it's a true commander and I like Cisco. All the treatment is available on the internet.

I rate this solution a nine out of 10.
