There are multiple use cases depending upon the solutions when discussing the typical use case for this tool. WAN optimization is one of them.

Another is that it provides an easy to configure, user-friendly solution. It is also very easy to operate.

From the technology perspective, there are multiple features that help customers solve day-to-day problems.

The solution was installed across two branches for a financial institution. One location had a data center, and the other was a branch office. For SaaS applications, traffic broke out from EdgeConnect directly to the cloud. Applications using the data center were channeled through the MPLS link.

It is an SD-WAN device. It is an edge router replacement. It also can replace a SD-WAN optimization device, a firewall, IDS, and IPS components, so you can actually do four four things in one box.

I use the solution for WAN connectivity. It ensures connectivity.

It's used for the SD-WAN solution, controlling all our branches. It orchestrates everything from one platform, managing routing, images, and overall system control. Through orchestration, we can handle link bandwidth and application routing.

Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN Platform offers a centralized cloud system to manage routers. 

We use the solution for network management. It provides a management layer for 200 locations. We have EdgeConnect to control with parameters, etc.

Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN Platform is best suited for multiple environments that need better connectivity. You can optimize its bandwidth and give better connectivity in terms of packet losses. 

Silver Peak VX is used for WAN optimization.

We use Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect for three use cases.

We have deployed it in a bank customer for a VPN over the internet for a backup to the MPS. 

We use it for managing satellite microwave and fiber connections with different latencies in the same location.

In a multi-branch enterprise, we used the solution for two links on each site with other links together all aggregated in one network.

Our customers use the solution in the manufacturing unit for Industrial Automation.

Our company is a partner and has a rapport with Silver Peak. We use the solution to improve organizational functions by optimizing automation. 

There are two options for deployment. A lot of customers want hardware in their environments. Others have cloud-native environments and use virtual machines. The preferred method is virtual but it depends on a customer's business needs. 

We currently have two customers using the solution. One prefers on-premises and the other prefers the cloud version. 

Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect is used to manage VMware.

We use the Aruba platform for connectivity for our enterprise to run our business operations.

We have one of these files servers in each of our branch offices. It hosts our Oracle database, which is replicated from our main site to the DR site.

It also hosts our VMware vSphere solution.

We are a service provider that uses satellite communications to offer solutions that are built using products from multiple vendors. We call our product SD-WAN Max and it includes applications from vendors such as Silver Peak, Fortinet, and others to help customers best leverage their options.

Unity EdgeConnect is one of the products that make up SD-WAN Max.

Our customers include enterprises that are managing their HQ and ISPs.

The use cases are pretty broad simply because we were optimizing the network and the use case if a site had multiple MPLS locations or they were paying for MPLS point to point connections. The main use case was to eliminate the MPLS through the primary carrier, like AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile. We would identify all of those use cases where any site that was leveraging a service called Aryaka which was a whole mesh network. We were removing all of that and migrating to Silver Peak over the internet.

I worked on some projects in Panama and Mexico. I did a large project in Mexico making equipment with at least 80 to 85 branches. We used Orchestrator and EdgeConnect Service Provider.

Silver Peak VX helps move data between data centers in the cloud.

Our primary use case for this solution is as a WAN accelerator.

We use the product for WAN optimization.
