VMware Aria Operations for Applications Primary Use Case

Yves Sandfort - PeerSpot reviewer
CEO & Majority Shareholder at Comdivision Consulting GmbH

We use it to monitor not only whether applications and services are up and running but also to get some insights into the applications such as how many transactions are being processed, if there is any downtime, or if a specific transaction is taking longer than normal. So, it is not only about availability but also about the actual performance of applications within our Kubernetes deployments.

It is a cloud service. It doesn't have a version number.

We use Tanzu in our encryption company. We use this solution to prepare products for our designer and for sites that are used internally.

We are using version 1.2. The solution is deployed on-premises. There are about 100 people using this solution in my organization.

We also use Kubernetes and HA Proxy.

Hybrid Cloud consultant at NCS

I am a hybrid cloud consultant and developer acting as a primary service provider at my organization and I handle multiple integration configurations between all our VMware products, including vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, and Tanzu.

As VMware partners, we are capable of deploying Tanzu Observability anywhere with vSphere, including on-premises and cloud deployments, and we can integrate it with an MSSP. We also install and use HAProxy, then integrate with the VM Orchestrator. For our clients, we release the automation and provide services such as creating the control plane with multiple nodes. We currently have multiple installations based on this type of environment.

Tanzu enhances any container platform that we use such as Kubernetes but it is also integrated with multiple other container solutions.

We use this solution for its applications, like the ELN import application. There are a few internal applications appropriate for future growth and they can start doing the high-end configuration already. We wanted to test all the capabilities of vSAN in VMware.
