The solution's most valuable feature is the ease of use. Its JDeveloper feature develops an environment and helps publish the applications easily. The solution is very comprehensive in maintenance and administration as well.

I appreciate the simplicity of configuring alerts for various errors through server logs, allowing us to receive structured email notifications. Whether it's handling WSP errors or addressing connection issues, WebLogic enables us to tailor alerts for specific scenarios, such as JVM exceeding defined thresholds. Another valuable feature is the ability to automate tasks through scripts, making our environment highly efficient.

One of the most valuable features of WebLogic is that it is very robust. We can manage every application by creating a managed server and a cluster. If one node goes down, the second node takes over automatically to run the applications seamlessly. It is the main feature of WebLogic as a cluster service. If we click on the management server in cluster mode, there is a failover if a node is down, and the second node takes over to run all the projects.

In the newer system, reconfigurability and the fact that it is easy to configure, make it very valuable. It is a double-edged sword. For a business user, this is massive because the configuration basics are a square one type of thing.

The fact that we're now working in more Agile scenarios is good. What I've been discovering over the last five years, is that a lot of people who have never known anything except for Agile do not understand the principles that are a part of it, and make some very significant decisions early on. To solve that problem, they may have to build a more extensive solution six months later. Then, they will have to look at that code in a much more overall sense. They'll have to build until they hit their head on the fact that they didn't scale it right or didn't consider it a part of the hierarchy in the business.

Somebody has to be looking at the overall architecture and make sure that the developer is not pushing themselves into a corner with their code or limiting their scalability and have to retest it to make sure that they can move forward at a particular part.

The configuration piece and the fact that you can do the updates are huge. Configuration and updates go hand in hand.

Oracle WebLogic Server has a bunch of ready features that are easy to use and understand. Less coding is required when it comes to Oracle WebLogic Server. A user can function as an administrator of the solution without much coding knowledge. Mostly, all the latest features, like multithreading and multiple consoles to handle multiple servers, along with other features like queues and topics, are made available in Oracle WebLogic Server.

In WebLogic, the most useful feature is the UI administration console from where we can configure everything, such as security access, and where we can start and stop it graphically. That's the best feature of WebLogic Server.

It is good because it's easy to use. I mean, it's not just a matter of being easy. It's actually a very stable tool and service, based on my experience. It doesn't crash frequently like other servers. We don't have to restart it every week or so. It's reliable. However, when it does encounter issues, it's not always easy to identify the problem.

The most valued feature is probably simply just the overall functionality. The product has a lot of versatility as far as what we can do with it and that flexibility is valuable in our ability to leverage deployments.

I would not compare WebSphere and WebLogic because both servers are really good. The only difference is that Weblogic is lighter and consumes less memory.

However, once you have set up both of them, they work perfectly.

There are always bugs, such as the recent bug with log4j, but they're both good web servers. I can make use of either one, it makes no difference. It's just a different setting, but I'd say the quality is the same.

I am satisfied with this solution, as well as WebSphere.

When we installed Oracle's complete suite it comes with multiple tools and we did not need to separately install WebLogic because all these solutions run under WebLogic itself. Once we install it, we have an administration console to enhance it. There are a couple of other related Oracle products that it can integrate with it. For example, if you want to include Oracle WebCenter Capture (WCC) or Form Recognition (WCFR), these are different modules. We have only done a couple of integrators and that has been for WCC and WCFR.

Technologically, the product offers excellent performance and high reliability. Because it is an application platform on which applications and products are deployed, these are probably among the most important features. For administration purposes, it also offers a robust and easy-to-understand interface. Performance monitoring tools are also comprehensive.

There are many valuable features in Oracle WebLogic Server. For sure, production redeployment is one of the best, in order to deploy the new version of your application without removing the old one. Also, Exalogic optimizations provide the best performance for I/O and thread management when using WebLogic Server on Oracle Engineered Systems. Finally, the Active Grid Link datasource: When connecting to Oracle RAC Database, it guarantees Fast Connection Failover and Connection Load Balancing.

Another important feature is workload separation that can be achieved using custom Work Managers or Multitenancy (in the new 12.2 version).

WebLogic Server gives us two main features that we use the most and which are the most valuable to us:

  • Administration console - Compared to open source application servers, the WLS administration console is quite complete in terms of features. It would be easier for developers and sysadmins to manage, monitor and config the app server from an administration console.
  • Clustering - The clustering capability is also pretty robust.

We're using the web server very tightly and operating the Java E7 specifications. The most important point for the prime web server is to operate Java E7. WebLogic is historically the default standard of financial systems and our systems interlock with them. I think that WebLogic is best application server, the E7 system.
