Front-end projects have been deployed smoothly and custom workflows are now simplified
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature I appreciate most is that I can host anything for free there and it doesn't have any cost up to a certain point."
  • "Connecting the back-end to the front-end is sometimes difficult."

What is our primary use case?

Generally, my use case is for front-end deployment itself, nothing more than that. In my professional career, I have used it for front-end as well as back-end deployment, not the back-end infrastructure, but communicating with the back-end and whole SQL queries and things of that nature. My main objective is to deploy a front-end where a person can see and download the files or navigate to other links. Most of the back-end is not deployed there. If possible, analytics would be beneficial for me.

As far as the use case, my general purpose is deploying the front-end. The process is easier, but the setup process can sometimes be lengthy if you're deploying and using the back-end itself for other things. Connecting the back-end to the front-end is sometimes difficult. Additionally, when you set up a custom domain, there are also some issues when I have to deploy a custom domain with Netlify Platform. It will take quite a lot of processing and is not very easy.

What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate most is that I can host anything for free there and it doesn't have any cost up to a certain point. Netlify Platform has many features for deployment that are very easy to use. You can drag and drop the files and deploy them there. Beyond that, the back-end compatibility with other projects is also very good, including compatibility with AWS. These are the aspects I value about Netlify Platform.

What needs improvement?

Connecting the back-end to the front-end is sometimes difficult. Additionally, when you set up a custom domain, there are some issues when I have to deploy a custom domain with Netlify Platform. It will take quite a lot of processing and is not very straightforward.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for one year in my career, as a professional for nine months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I don't have any problem with lagging. Netlify Platform lags a little because you're using someone else's domain rather than your custom domain, so that will be expected, but other than that, it is smooth for me. Nothing feels very rigid and laggy. The overall experience is good for me.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability depends on what type of scalability is being discussed.

It is not very difficult. You can scale by directly pushing the code or deploying. However, it will become difficult in the future. It will become hectic for you to maintain all these things if you are deploying too many features because you need to maintain different back-ends and different other things including authentication itself. At that time, I think it will become a challenging aspect.

How are customer service and support?

I'm a customer who uses Netlify Platform for certain things in my professional and personal life. Other than that, I don't have any customer relationship with them.

How was the initial setup?

It's easy. You can drag and drop the folder itself, or you can connect to GitHub and push. It is not very difficult for me. For all the platforms I use, the deployment is very easy and not too difficult a task, and I think anyone can do it with basic knowledge.

What about the implementation team?

One person can do it themselves. You don't need a team. If you are deploying a very large website or you have multiple back-ends, then maybe you would be required to have more people, but other than that, I don't think you need a team of two or three people for deployment. One person with some basic knowledge and specializing in that field, such as DevOps, can do it very easily.

What was our ROI?

It completely depends on what sites I'm deploying. If I'm deploying any AI models, I will be maintaining them after one week and each time for training and other tasks. But if I'm deploying a static website, then I don't think it needs any maintenance if you have a small production, such as a CDN itself or something other than that on the websites.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have used two alternatives: GitHub Pages and Vercel.

For GitHub Pages, I can have a direct repository there. I can update the repository without needing to update anything else itself. It will directly go live. I don't need to make any changes and pull requests for this, and it is very easy for me. There are no limitations or any pricing model there, so I can just use it and have a back-end model as well. The same applies to Vercel. It has a very easy-to-view interface and all the things are easy. GitHub attachment is also easy, as is the custom domain deployment. They also have a small DNS and CDN, so it is much better for security purposes.

What other advice do I have?

It completely depends on what sites I'm deploying. If I'm deploying any AI models, I will be maintaining them after one week and each time for training and other tasks. But if I'm deploying a static website, then I don't think it needs any maintenance if you have a small production, such as a CDN itself or something other than that on the websites. I would rate my overall experience with Netlify Platform an eight out of ten.

Serverless functions have simplified building a sales pipeline and handling transaction workflows
Pros and Cons
  • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization and projects because it made things easier."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform when I do use it involves deploying a few apps and also using their server functions to do some queries for a serverless architecture project.

When I used Netlify Platform serverless functions for my project, I set up data fetching queries to write into the database while building a sales pipeline, which captures transactions, updates transaction statuses, and other related functions.

I have deployed applications on Netlify Platform.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features Netlify Platform offers are the server functions, which were very easy to use and to set up.

What made them stand out for me is that nothing in particular was challenging; they were simply easy to use as I was given them.

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization and projects because it made things easier. On that project, I did not have to worry about having a full back-end, just spinning up those functions as I needed and solving the problem.

I think fewer resources were needed as a result.

    What needs improvement?

I do not find that Netlify Platform needs improvement; no challenges were present.

I do not have anything more to add about needed improvements, not even a wish-list item.

I do not think there are any improvements needed for Netlify Platform that I have not mentioned yet; even minor things are absent.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Netlify Platform in a few projects for a couple of months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I find Netlify Platform stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Netlify Platform looks very scalable to me based on my experience.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had any experience with customer support, but the documentation was very good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before Netlify Platform.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment when using Netlify Platform in terms of time, money, and ease of simplicity.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not sure about the pricing, setup cost, and licensing, as my boss set that up for the side projects, but I think it was free.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Netlify Platform, I did not evaluate other options; I just used it.

What other advice do I have?

The advice I would give to others looking into using Netlify Platform is that it was very easy to use. If they are looking for serverless functions, I think they were very simple. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Automated deployments have improved project delivery and simplified resolving complex build issues
    Pros and Cons
    • "The main feature I love about Netlify Platform is that when we face errors during the build process, we can get help from Netlify AI, which makes solving build problems very comfortable."
    • "I have not seen a return on investment with Netlify Platform."

What is our primary use case?

I typically use Netlify Platform for deploying my web projects, especially front-end projects. I have deployed multiple projects using Netlify Platform, including a gaming platform where users can play our games. I have deployed numerous projects such as e-commerce projects, landing pages, admin panels, and stores for various educational institutes, clinical stores, and websites.

In our company, we use custom domains for production deployments. However, when we are testing or working in a staging environment, we use Netlify Platform to test our products and API integrations. After testing is complete, we connect the domain with Netlify Platform and deploy to that domain.

    What is most valuable?

The main feature I love about Netlify Platform is that when we face errors during the build process, we can get help from Netlify AI, which makes solving build problems very comfortable.

I deployed the same project on both Vercel and Netlify Platform. On Vercel, I did not receive proper build error messages and did not know how to solve the problem. When I deployed the same project on Netlify Platform, I saw the same build error. I asked Netlify AI how to solve this build error, and it provided me with a complete guideline that I followed to resolve the issues.

The pipeline built during Netlify Platform deployment helps us because we do not need to go to Netlify each time to deploy our project. The platform automatically deploys our project from Git, which is very interesting, easy, and enhances our team's output.

    What needs improvement?

During sign-up and sign-in, it sometimes takes two to three days to complete the sign-up process because as a new user, the account is under review. If there is an emergency to deploy a project, the user must wait two days for account approval and cannot log in with those credentials immediately. This aspect is difficult and should be improved.

If a user needs account approval-related features, that is a valuable aspect. However, I believe that when a user completes sign-up and email verification, they should be able to log in immediately using an OTP code verification method. When users log in, they can immediately access the Netlify Platform account while also seeing a notification that they need to approve their account. Once they approve, they can enjoy all features. If the account is not approved, they can access some features, but after approval, they can use Netlify Platform completely. This approach would be more secure.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for around three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Netlify Platform is stable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Vercel before and switched from Vercel to Netlify Platform because when we faced issues, Vercel was not able to provide a complete solution, but Netlify Platform is able to give us a complete solution. Before Netlify Platform, I only used Vercel.

    What was our ROI?

I have not seen a return on investment with Netlify Platform.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have not had any experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing because these are handled by our team leads.

What other advice do I have?

I have not purchased Netlify Platform through the AWS Marketplace, but we were considering this option. My overall review rating for Netlify Platform is nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Continuous deployment from code has streamlined small site launches and improved daily workflows
    Pros and Cons
    • "Netlify Platform has significantly reduced the time spent managing infrastructure in my projects, and being able to spin up the pages from GitHub quite quickly has also helped me to spin up small servers in a timely manner."
    • "For the moment, Netlify Platform could improve with greater integration of AI for server control or management as well as for static page management."

What is our primary use case?

Currently, I do not have a very large application; I have two static pages, one is a portfolio and the other is a lightweight e-commerce for selling products.

How has it helped my organization?

Netlify Platform has significantly reduced the time spent managing infrastructure in my projects, and being able to spin up the pages from GitHub quite quickly has also helped me to spin up small servers in a timely manner.

    What is most valuable?

Since Netlify Platform is connected to GitHub, the process becomes quite fast in terms of updates; when requirements are raised and I manage to complete the tasks to fix or update the system, once it is updated or the pushes are made to GitHub, the page is updated quite quickly.

Netlify Platform's option for email is also very good; it has very low prices, and having this fast connectivity with GitHub makes it a platform that can scale quite well.

The best features of Netlify Platform would be continuous and native deployment with GitHub, as well as deployment previews, good DNS management, and SSL management in the side panel, making everything quite user-friendly.

Netlify Platform offers good detail when a page or deployment fails, which speeds up the repair process quite a lot, making it very useful in my daily workflow and when collaborating with others.

By having continuous deployment directly from GitHub, I only have to worry about pushing to GitHub, allowing me to manage all the branches and contributions directly; I only need to focus on GitHub, and the rest will be rendered directly on Netlify Platform.

    What needs improvement?

For the moment, Netlify Platform could improve with greater integration of AI for server control or management as well as for static page management.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for approximately a year, during which I have deployed two static pages.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I consider Netlify Platform to be a stable solution, especially for developers who are just starting out, as it is user-friendly and very fast for deployment.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Netlify Platform has been positive for me; by linking private servers and spinning up the platform from GitHub, it makes scaling my projects very easy.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using Netlify Platform, I had only used Hostinger, so I did not have much knowledge, and I currently use Netlify Platform and Amazon.

    How was the initial setup?

I acquired Netlify Platform through Netlify's own official website.

    What was our ROI?

The biggest savings I have had by using Netlify Platform has been in time; I have saved at least 40% of the time compared to what was done previously in other projects.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, implementation costs, and licensing of Netlify Platform has been quite pleasant; the prices are in line with the market, neither very high nor very low.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

When I started using Netlify Platform, I was very much a novice; I only evaluated a couple of options such as Render or Hostinger, and at that time, Netlify Platform seemed more affordable.

What other advice do I have?

Regardless of connectivity or country location, I think Netlify Platform is always a good alternative for those considering its use.

I believe it is a good platform for fast deployments, especially for smaller projects, so if users are new developers who are starting out, it is definitely a good option.

    I would rate this review a 10.

Platform has streamlined CI workflows and has simplified hosting multiple client-facing sites
    Pros and Cons
    • "Since I migrated to Netlify Platform, I have noticed time savings, error reduction, and improvements in efficiency because if there is any error when building the application, it notifies me quickly, and I can see exactly what is failing, which with GitHub Pages was a bit more complicated."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is hosting web applications on its platform and using its name host services for the domain.

A concrete example of a web application that I have hosted using Netlify Platform is my family business's website, and I needed the domain functionality in order to link, together with my domain registrar, to Netlify Platform's name servers so that the domain could be connected with the website and also to be able to use a subdomain that is for API for some APIs that I have within the platform.

      What is most valuable?

I would consider the best features that Netlify Platform offers to be that it is a worthy rival to Vercel because, just as that platform does, these platforms allow you to quickly deploy web projects from repositories and the user interface is very easy to use; I'd say that's one of the most useful things about Netlify Platform, and that many features are free. It easily allows you to make secondary deployment environments to, for example, test certain features in staging that you may have implemented.

Regarding the ease of use that I mention, the aspects of the interface or the deployment process that I find especially intuitive or that save me the most time include the fact that it automatically has a CI/CD flow where I deploy, and automatically—that is, I push the code to GitHub, in this case, I have it hosted there—and it automatically starts building the application and it is deployed immediately. It also allows me to easily configure environment variables and also how the application is built.

In the case of my family business, the main benefits or positive changes I've noticed since using Netlify Platform include that it saves me headaches, such as what I mentioned about deployment and building the application. Before, I did it with GitHub Pages, but it's a system that's a bit more rigid, so to speak. With Netlify Platform, I can easily deploy one or several projects, change application settings, and have several versions in the same place.

Since I migrated to Netlify Platform, I have noticed time savings, error reduction, and improvements in efficiency because if there is any error when building the application, it notifies me quickly, and I can see exactly what is failing, which with GitHub Pages was a bit more complicated.

      What needs improvement?

I think Netlify Platform is quite good, and it could focus on developing something for the backend, not just for the frontend. Although I'm not sure if Netlify Platform already offers these options, I've only used it to deploy frontend.

I can specify a concrete benefit I noticed when migrating the site from that previous hosting to Netlify Platform, which includes cost reduction, better deployment time, and fewer technical incidents.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Netlify Platform for approximately a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I consider Netlify Platform to be a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I evaluate the scalability of Netlify Platform as sufficient for my current and future needs; the platform seems scalable to me. I see that it's easy to deploy, and in general, I feel that for the future and the present, it's a good solution.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I evaluated other options before choosing Netlify Platform, and I considered Vercel, but Netlify Platform seemed the easiest to use at that time.

      How was the initial setup?

The platform is deployed in Netlify Platform's public cloud.

      What about the implementation team?

For the backend, which is an API that I have running to obtain the catalog of the company's services, I use Oracle Cloud in its free tier alongside Netlify Platform.

      What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Netlify Platform.

I can tell you more about that return on investment because before the site was hosted elsewhere, I experienced significant improvements after migrating to Netlify Platform.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of Netlify Platform has been excellent.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I used another solution before choosing Netlify Platform.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to other people who are considering using Netlify Platform would be that they consider this option among those available because of its ease of use and because it allows a very easy-to-configure CI, continuous integration, continuous deployment flow when you're building an application, and that it also provides the name host for connecting domains that you already have registered with a domain registrar. I would rate Netlify Platform an 8 out of 10.

Automated subdomains have saved countless hours and now support my growing ecommerce projects
      Pros and Cons
      • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by saving me so much time."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is to deploy my projects and to control GitHub deployment.

I am currently working on a project called Be A Richy, which is an e-commerce project similar to Shopify.

I feel Netlify Platform is great for my main use case.

        What is most valuable?

The first option of Netlify Platform features is my favorite.

Both the speed and simplicity of that feature make it stand out for me.

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by saving me so much time. I am currently using the upgraded plan, which my store requires for custom subdomains, and that has helped me to create new subdomains automatically without verifying them to my customers. That saved me so much time with Netlify Platform because if I didn't do that, I would have to manage each request manually. I think that has saved me so many days.

        What needs improvement?

I didn't understand the question about the best features Netlify Platform offers.

I didn't find anything that should be improved on Netlify Platform; I'm feeling comfortable with it.

I don't have anything more about the needed improvements for Netlify Platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Netlify Platform since 2023.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't experienced any crashes with Netlify Platform.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For now with Netlify Platform, I have only 30 users, so I don't know if I can give a detailed answer about its scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I never contacted the customer support of Netlify Platform because I never encountered any issue.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Netlify Platform was my first solution.

I've heard about Vercel before choosing Netlify Platform, but I found out that Netlify Platform was better.

What other advice do I have?

I just appreciate that my application using Netlify Platform provides websites to my clients. I would rate this review a 9 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Simple deployments have saved time and now need better AI features and secret management
        Pros and Cons
        • "The main benefit of the projects I have deployed using Netlify Platform is the ease and simplicity of the process."
        • "For personal use, I have used Netlify Platform and have saved time. However, I do not think there was any learning involved because I was not able to build that project or manage the configuration for deployment."

What is our primary use case?

I have been personally using Netlify Platform for more than two years since my college days.

My main use case for Netlify Platform is to deploy services, such as my front-end applications. I deployed a weather application using Netlify Platform that allows users to check the weather for a specific place. It was a React application.

The main benefit of the projects I have deployed using Netlify Platform is the ease and simplicity of the process. You simply provide the link of your GitHub repository, and it will authorize your GitHub account using a SaaS token, then deploy your services very easily.

In my organization, we cannot use Netlify Platform because we use a different cloud provider. It is a SaaS service, and we manage our infrastructure ourselves.

I have used Netlify Platform for my personal projects, primarily for public cloud deployment.

        What is most valuable?

I believe the best feature of Netlify Platform is the ease of deployment. Since it is a SaaS service, you can deploy your services very easily.

Regarding the deployment process with Netlify Platform, the simplicity is remarkable because you do not have to create build files or build pipelines. Netlify Platform manages all of that for you. You only need to provide the link of your GitHub repository, and it manages everything for you.

Netlify Platform has benefited me personally in my projects because I do not have to manage the build files or configurations to deploy services.

Netlify Platform has saved me time because I do not have to manage build pipelines or configurations. I only have to provide the link of the repository, and it deploys in less than one minute.

        What needs improvement?

Netlify Platform can be improved by providing CLI services for managing projects. You can link your projects locally by installing the NPM package. I do not have any specific feedback for improvement regarding these features.

I think Netlify Platform can add some generative AI services. Recently, generative AI has been improved and has been trending in the market. Netlify Platform can add generative AI to create documentation and work on backend SaaS services. You can add integrations such as API services and a secret service so that users do not have to manage environment variables manually through the GUI or web service. Netlify Platform can access the environment variables and create a secret service so that users do not have to manually provide this information.

There are areas of improvement. I do not know about recent improvements that Netlify Platform has made related to generative AI, but adding those generative AI features would help it trend in the market. I have not seen or heard about any generative AI features provided by Netlify Platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been personally using Netlify Platform for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I do not remember experiencing any stability issues, so I cannot provide details about that.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Since this was a personal project, there was no concern about scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I have not reached out to customer support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not used any different solution previously.

        How was the initial setup?

I was on the free tier with Netlify Platform, so I did not face any issues regarding setup. It was a good experience.

        What about the implementation team?

I do not know who was involved in the implementation.

        What was our ROI?

For personal use, I have used Netlify Platform and have saved time. However, I do not think there was any learning involved because I was not able to build that project or manage the configuration for deployment. It was easy for me, and it has saved time for deploying small services or applications.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have seen different platforms compared to Netlify Platform, such as Heroku and Vercel. I chose Netlify Platform because the onboarding was easier and it was providing good services on the free tier.

What other advice do I have?

A gift card would be better. Haiku would also be better. The interview was really good, and the questions were impressive. I would rate this review seven out of ten.

Automated deployments have streamlined hosting workflows and save significant development time
        Pros and Cons
        • "If others are looking into using Netlify Platform, I would advise that if you do not have crazy technical requirements, it is a very good option."
        • "The only thing I really do not like about Netlify Platform is that when I look up an article, there is a lot of fluff instead of easily searchable content."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is hosting. I host sites with environment variables or without them as a place to map over to GitHub, so every time I push, it automatically deploys to production. It is very convenient. Domain management is available in Netlify Platform, but that is not my primary use.

        What is most valuable?

Netlify Platform offers many features. The automation is the best feature of Netlify Platform. It is easy to use. Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by being very productive. I have saved a lot of time overall. It is easier to debug if builds break, which is a workflow that has become more efficient because of Netlify Platform.

        What needs improvement?

The only thing I really do not like about Netlify Platform is that when I look up an article, there is a lot of fluff instead of easily searchable content. That might be my only complaint, but I like the interface. Everything is very obvious and easy to learn.

It would be cool if Netlify Platform had suggestions on how I could use features because I know there are many features that I may not understand how they work and I am unaware of. With artificial intelligence, being able to learn based on behavior, it might provide a notification like 'Hey, this feature, here is how to learn more,' or something similar.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for around six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

        Netlify Platform is usually stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Netlify Platform's scalability is pretty good since I have no issues with it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously using Bluehost, and I have hosted some things through GitHub Pages. I have used DigitalOcean before, which is not necessarily hosting but more about housing different droplets. I do not do anything crazy technical, so I use SvelteKit, which is a full-stack platform for building apps, and usually Neon or I have used Supabase or local Postgres. Netlify Platform is good at handling environment variables, loading up files, and being ready to go.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Netlify Platform is that the pricing is reasonable. It is a small team, so it was not too expensive. It was very easy to set up a team and start adding projects.

What other advice do I have?

If others are looking into using Netlify Platform, I would advise that if you do not have crazy technical requirements, it is a very good option. Even as a solo developer, it is basically free. It is really nice if you are deploying many sites through repositories to map it to your main branch and auto-deploy. This is a game changer as a developer.

I would like to say to Netlify Platform team to keep doing what you are doing. I am looking forward to seeing what you do in the future. I give this review a rating of 10.
